We Stayed at the GODZILLA HOTEL in Tokyo 🐲 | View Room, Props & Giant Surprises in Shinjuku!

We just traveled 26 hours to stay in this hotel, the hotel Grocery Shinjjuku, where you can sleep next to Godzilla. [Music] [Music] [Music] Let’s check out our room. So, when you first walk in, you have this lovely corridor. The bathroom is on your right hand side, and then you have two nooks for hanging clothes. So, this is this is your closet. There’s a pair of slippers. Actually, there’s two pairs of slippers down here, so you can take your shoes off. There’s a full body mirror right here. Evidently, a um a pants press, which is interesting. There’s a blinged out information book about Godzilla, the Godzilla Hotel. Brian said there’s not much in here, but it’s there for you. And it has its own little nook on the wall. Good size TV. And then a little seating area here, a little cabinet that has a fridge in it. And then a double full size bed that has these beautiful silk pillowcases and uh run whatever this is called at the foot of the bed. And then there’s this beautiful print on the wall of possibly King Gdora, which is the three-headed dragon, possibly something else. I We’re not totally sure, but that’s there to watch over us while we sleep. And then my favorite is this tissue box. Yes. And the room comes with custom hotel information and postcards and coffee bags. They’re all Godzilla branded. And then when you book the room, they also give you a beautiful tote bag with a little towel in it and a pen that is for the Godzilla room. If we didn’t say it earlier, the Godzilla room is there’s only six of these rooms. This is the Godzilla view room. And there’s only six of these rooms available at night. And there is another room that’s like the god a Godzilla themed room that’s a larger room. It doesn’t have a view of Godzilla, the Godzilla head, but it has a bunch of like Godzilla paraphernalia in the room itself. Okay, so we have a little amenities cabinet and there’s a kettle in here. There’s also the coffee racks that Brian mentioned that are branded. And then there’s this little mysterious box. I think this is a humidifier. It’s either a humidifier or a dehumidifier. That’s interesting. And now the PS resistance is our Godzilla head view. There he is. Or she her eyeball staring back at us. [Music] Now, I knew this room was small, but um I must admit it is smaller than I thought it was going to be. But, you know, that’s just Japanese hotel rooms for you, I guess. [Music] Now, the bathroom, I would argue, is just as large as the bedroom area. It is excellent. You of course have your Japanese toilet that services all your toilet needs and more. The seat is heated and it has all kinds of buttons you can press to control it. And then in the tub shower area, you have a shower area that’s like the whole room and then a tub that you can fill up separately from the shower. Yeah, that’s uh it’s really nice in here and I can’t wait to wash my 26 hours of travel off with a shower tonight. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] So, right at the front of the hotel, lobby. They have this display with an actual screen used Godzilla suit and Mothra model and even down to the cranes and the shipping containers that are on display here were used in the films. These were specifically used in a 2001 movie with Godzilla, Mothra, Gdora, and one other, the guardian beast Baragon. I don’t know who that is, but yeah, it’s really cool to see these screen used items from the movie. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] So, [Music] we are down in the cafe in the lobby of the hotel grocery Shinjuku and we have this lovely view of the Godzilla head right outside the window. We have ordered some specialty items. They have Godzilla themed food items here. So, we’ve ordered a couple things including a pancake, a fluffy pancake that has a Godzilla and a moth on top and then a latte with a Godzilla on top. And then I also just got some specialty French pressed coffee. I’m excited to eat my first fluffy pancake in Japan and for it to have a Godzilla on top. [Music] Heat. Heat. They really think of everything here in Japan because we’re in a cafe in the hotel and they have this little box for your bag so your bag doesn’t have to sit on the floor right behind the Godzilla head. So altogether our food was $45. This is an expensive gimmick, but it’s for the theming, you know, and this is probably the like most expensive meal splurge we’re going to do here. The pancake was pretty small. However, I will say the Godzilla is solid chocolate, and it’s good chocolate. We even let him take a bath in our uh latte for a minute to make it kind of mocha. There’s at least that. I mean, we have this great view of the Godzilla head. And then we had our Godzilla themed snacks. And that’s just our little our little splurge here. This concludes our hotel stay at the Hotel Grocery Godzilla View Room. What did you think of our stay? I think it was it was everything I imagined it would be. We did all the little kitsy things and we bought a Godzilla tissue box. Yes. Uh, we tried the Godzilla pancake and the latte. And I wish we could have gone outside, but that the terrace by the head has been closed for a long time. But at least we got to see Godzilla from our room watching over us while we slept. It’s It’s a good way to dip your toe into Shinjuku. I thought it was really really cool to see all the Godzilla stuff and the um the screen used costume. That was really really cool. This is the 10th anniversary of the hotel being open and there’s two Godzilla rooms specifically Godzilla themed rooms and there’s only six of those Godzilla view rooms that we had. So we were one of six that night and it really wasn’t crazy expensive. I think it was like it was less than 200 for the night. Mhm. I think it’s a good way to dip your toe into Japan, too. Just like ease your way in. So if you like what you saw and you want to see more, click that subscribe button, bell notification, and we hope to see you in the next one. Bye.
