⛩️Hakone Journey for Inner Peace – Shrine Tour, Ropeway & ♨Onsen with 🗻Mt. Fuji Views – JAPAN Trip

Early morning in Hakone, by Lake Ashi. A divine, breathtaking view comes into sight. A hot spring town just 90 minutes from Tokyo. Staying at “Rakuten STAY FUJIMI TERRACE Hakone Ashinoko” Full amenities: kitchen, washer-dryer, open-air bath, and a foot bath on the terrace. Relax in natural hot spring water with Mt. Fuji in view. A day that feels full of good fortune. Now heading to Hakone Motomiya at the top of Mt. Komagatake. Two cruise lines operate from Moto-Hakone Port. Ashinoko Sightseeing Boat (Fujikyu) and Hakone Pirate Ship (Odakyu). To Hakoneen, where the Komagatake ropeway is located, take the Lake Ashinoko sightseeing boat (Fujikyu) Most people are on the deck so the ship is spacious. A popular photo spot on the way. About 20 minutes to Hakone-en. At the base station: Hakone-en Station. Starting from about 723 m above sea level. A 7-minute ropeway ride, 1.8 km long. Arriving at the summit station, 1,356 m high. Lake Ashi is formed by rain and snowmelt from the surrounding mountains. It takes years for the water to gather here. Climbing to the sacred Hakone Motomiya at the summit. This sacred boulder is said to be a dwelling of the gods. Prayers have been offered here since more than 1000 years ago. The shrine closest to the heavens. By the time we return, Mt. Fuji is hidden in the clouds. A miraculous moment gifted by nature. Waiting for the next boat with a little break. This cream filling is amazing 😋 Clouds are now covering the summit where we just stood. Heading back to Moto-Hakone. Take a break in the tatami room From Moto-Hakone, we now visit Hakone Shrine. We start at this grand gate over Route 1. A torii marks the border between the divine and the human world. From here, we enter a forest of deep green. Surrounded by towering cedar trees. We walk this quiet path. Calming our minds before standing before the gods. Purifying ourselves before entering the shrine. Some trees here are over a thousand years old. The final torii before the main shrine. First, we greet Hakone Shrine. Praying for safety, peace, and all our wishes. Next door is Kuzuryu Shrine (New Hall). We purify with the sacred “Dragon Water”.(“Ryujin Water”) This water comes from underground streams in the Hakone mountains. Said to carry the divine energy of nature. The original Kuzuryu Shrine stands in another part of the forest. This one was built for easier access. A new hall for worshipers to visit. After your visit, try the quiet side path through the forest. A mossy trail that feels like it came out of a Ghibli film. Along the way… You’ll find Ebisu Shrine, for luck and business prosperity. A place to meet one of the Seven Lucky Gods. We’re back at the main path we took on arrival. Last stop: the iconic sixth torii on the lake. Standing as if floating on the water—it’s a symbol of Hakone. There’s usually a line for photos under the gate. Walking along the lakeside trail back to Moto-Hakone. Today, Mt. Fuji was clear from Hakone. It turned out to be such a perfect day. Thank you so much for watching!
