【NEWS】New rules for climbing Mount Fuji in Japan since 2025.7.1

News. Good morning. [Music] The mountain climbing season began on July 1st at Fuji, but please be aware that there will be changes to the rules this year. Toll changes last year. The fee was 2,000 yen per person, but it has now been raised to 4,000 yen per person. The closing time for the fifth station gate was changed from 400 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. the following day, which was the previous year, to 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. the following day. A new ordinance has been enacted that allows lightly dressed climbers who poses a risk to their lives to be denied entry to the mountains. It is necessary to agree to certain rules, such as bringing warm clothing and suitable shoes for hiking. For example, wearing a t-shirt, shorts, sandals, etc. will likely result in you being refused entry. Yamanashi Prefecture has set up a gate at the fifth station, which is closed to anyone other than Mountain Hud guests between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. the following morning. In addition, the number of people allowed to climb beyond the gate at the fifth station is limited to 4,000 per day, so it is reassuring to make reservations in advance. So, please be careful when you visit Mount Fuji. I wish you all a safe trip. [Music]
