Nintendo Museum Tour – What’s it Really Like? 🎴🕹️🎮 Japan Travel Guide 2024
From Osaka we’ve travelled to one of our
favourite cities in Japan – Kyoto and we’re here today to visit the Nintendo Museum. It’s just
outside Kyoto near Uji – there are a few routes that you can take to get the train there
they’re generally around half an hour from Kyoto station. You’ll be heading towards Nara and
Ogura Station. Nara is famous for its deer so if you’re lucky you might get to see one
of the themed trains….. Now getting tickets for the museum isn’t as straightforward as
just buying them. There is a lottery process – there are more details on the website linked
here you can pick up to three preferred dates and then there’s a draw after which
they’ll let you know if you’ve got tickets. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] hey [Music] So when you receive your play ticket at the
entrance it’s loaded up with 10 coins and you can use those interactive games in the
museum. All of the games are actual products that Nintendo produced during their lifetime it
was cool trying some of their older toys before the games industry was a thing. But this grab
game! I could not get my head around at all. I felt sorry for the assistant try to help me…
The shooting gallery was more my thing. Some of them were really fun but to be honest with you.
I think it’s a little bit stingy only getting 10 coins because a lot of the games are two or more
coins to use so you won’t get to try everything. The highlight is definitely using the giant
controllers so we saved most of our coins for that. Just remember playing Pilot Wings with
a giant Wii controller is all about teamwork! [Music] The second floor exhibit features Nintendo’s
products throughout their past. I found it really interesting, they even had some footage of the
adverts from the 60s and 70s advertising their toys and games. I never knew Nintendo made
an exercise bike! Kind of makes Wii Fit make more sense now. You can’t take any pictures or
video up here so I’ll meet you in the gift shop….. [Music] We have to put an end to this so we’ve
settled on some Nintendo themed dipping dishes, these cool mini video game prints
and some Mario themed hanafuda cards. Now in our last video we didn’t manage to
get any Nintendo themed food at Universal Studios but luckily there’s a themed restaurant
here at the museum. So let’s eat, I’m starving! [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] And that’s our look at the Nintendo Museum and I
recommend it to any fan or even if you’re just interested in the history of one of Japan’s most
famous companies. And if you’ve enjoyed this video please check out my channel and leave a like
and a comment down below now. The Nintendo Museum is located in Uji which is the home of Matcha
Tea and we’ll check that out in the next video [Music]
