8th Japan winter trip series ep 29 | European Western Design Buildings in Hakodate | Scenic Bay View
From the Motomachi Church Area, I went to the old public hall of Hakodate Ward. Along the way, there’s a famous slope called the hachiman Zaka. At the top of the slope, the view of the Hakodate Bay can be seen. This place is often fill with photographers taking good shots from here.
The old public hall and the former hakodate branch office of the hokkaido goverment is located few steps away from the slope. One noticable thing is that the design of these buildings are european western style
This is due to the influence of foreign architecture into the city as it opens up the city to foreigners.
Another added bonus is the beautiful sunset view from this place. I haven’t finished exploring all of hakodate, hopefully i’ll return someday to explore more.
