The Millennials Shibuya – Review
[Music] Good morning, guys. It’s Rollins here, and today we’re going to be taking a look at the Millennials. This is one of the coolest capsule hotels here in Shabuya in downtown Tokyo. Let’s go on inside. [Music] Hello everyone. We’re going to start our tour here at the front desk. So, when you first come in, this is where you check in and you have a reception right over here. As we move on, this is the public kind of community lounge here. They serve beer for free from 5:30 to 6:30 each day. This is also just kind of a hangout spot. They got free drinks in the back there, coffee, snacks, and even kind of a little kitchen back there, too. It’s pretty cool space right now. They got some information here. Some pretty cool tables. Nice view of Shabuya right outside as well. So, back in the kitchen, they have a coffee machine right over here. This is where you can get free coffee. They got their syrups right next to it. There’s also a water machine. They got a fridge with a couple drinks. And there’s some ovens here as well. Looks like they even got silverware, plates, and all that right over here, sink, and even a stove here if you want to do cooking. All right, let’s keep moving to the next floor and explore that as well. So, on this floor, they have the working lounge. It looks like they got a smoking area and a few conference rooms. Let’s go ahead and take a look at that. [Music] Just outside the third floor, they have a smoking terrace as well with views of the road. And now we’re headed up to the 10th floor to finally get to our sleeping capsule. [Music] Here’s a quick view of the sink in the shower. It’s pretty nice. I actually like this. [Music] And here’s going to be the toilet as well. Wow, look at that. I always love how the toilets here in Japan greet you when you enter. And now it’s time to move on to the main attraction. All right, guys. Here we are. This is our capsule for the night. Wow. Look at that. That’s super sweet. Let’s take a closer look at it. All right, inside the capsule. Look at this. What a cool space. This is much better than a lot of other capsule hotels. You got a lot more space. I mean, it’s pretty wide in here. There’s even a couple that have a projector, which is super cool. Unfortunately, when I booked, they were all booked out, so I just got the standard one with the uh roll down wall there. On your side here, this is a uh iPod touch. This gives you the control to either lay it flat or put it up. I’ll just stop it for now. Also, with that, you can actually change all the lighting and stuff. So, um, there you go. So, you can turn the light off. You can turn it back on. Also, on here, you can actually set an alarm and it’ll turn on the lights. And if you really want to, you can actually also put up your bed. So, imagine being woken up as your bed’s going up. That’s kind of funny. In terms of what else is here, you actually have a set of four outlets on the wall. And then on this side over here, you have a mirror. You can really use that pretty much only when you have the screen open. Um, on the left side, there’s a coat hanger. And then on the ceiling, there’s a vent. It’s blowing air pretty lightly. You guys might be able to hear it. It’s kind of like a white noise. There’s a shelf here in the back as well. And then up here in front. So, if you booked a projector room, you’d actually have this whole thing as a screen. But, like I said, they were all booked out. So, this one is just a standard one. And to give you an honest review, this is actually going to be my second night staying here. Um, I guess some takeaways is the room does still get warm like other capsules. Even with the vent, it isn’t perfect. It’s pretty closed off. They’re just not air flow on the walls, too. When you have a bunch of electronics plugged in, you have to set them on your bed. So, it’s pretty wide. So, usually it’s not an issue when you’re sleeping. But, I still feel like it’s a jumble of wires on the side. I mean, they could have maybe put a shelf on it or raised up the outlets or something. Underneath the bed is where you store the luggage. And I forgot to show you guys that. So, I’m actually have to go back out and doing that. That’s actually another complaint is when you look at the screen here right now, there is space between the bed. But when you lay it flat, the bed goes pretty much right up to the screen. So, if you wake up in the middle of night, either you have to put the bed up or you have to really reach your hand down there to try to grab hold of the screen. I think that’s a little bit of a annoying thing, too. So yeah, this place is a little bit gimmicky in some ways, but it is still a huge improvement on other capsules. Overall, the stay is pretty decent, and I think it’s definitely worth it just to try it out for fun. Of course, it’s not the cheapest option out there, but you are dead center in Shabuya, and it is still kind of a cool experience with a lot of amenities. So, for some people, that’s what they they’re looking for. I think this is kind of a easy transition into capsules if you’ve never done it before, but for me, it was just worth trying it out for the one time. But I probably won’t book this again. Still, I had a lot of fun making this video. So, I hope you guys enjoy. And if you liked it, make sure you like, comment, subscribe. Otherwise, I’ll see you in the next one. Peace.
