SEGA recently announced that it will open the SEGA STORE TOKYO in Shibuya this July, and it will be the first of its kind in Japan.

While SEGA has long been synonymous with arcades, the logo has effectively disappeared from various downtown districts across Japan. That’s because the SEGA arcades were sold and have been rebranded to GiGO.

Soon though, Tokyo residents and visitors will get to see that iconic SEGA logo again with the opening of its first official retail outlet in Japan, located on the sixth floor of Shibuya PARCO. This official store will open on July 18, 2025, and it will feature a wide array of collectibles and other goodies from both SEGA and ATLUS titles.

Even though this is the first store of its kind in Japan, this isn’t the first in the world. After all, this store’s upcoming opening follows the debut of the SEGA STORE SHANGHAI.

Here’s what the SEGA STORE TOKYO will look like. Here’s the facade of the SEGA STORE SHANGHAI

To make the opening special, the SEGA STORE TOKYO will stock a range of items that will only be available there. One of these is aSonic the Hedgehog collection that was designed by collage artist Kosuke Kawamura. The pieces in this collection features designs that incorporate Kawamura’s shredder art and collage techniques.

Kawamura being tapped as a collaborator makes a lot of sense as he is one of Japan’s most well-known collage artists and graphic designers, not to mention that he has worked with popular IP like Akira. There’s also the fact that he has contributed to various Uniqlo anime collections.

Along with the Kawamura collection, Sonic fans can also expect a special BE@RBRICK, along with a cute SEGA Cooro collection with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, and Dr. Eggman plushies. Aside from Sonic, the Cooro line also features cute plush versions of Ichiban Kasuga, Kazuma Kiryu, and Goro Majima from the Like a Dragon series.

Finally, the store will stock other merch, some of which you can see below:

To celebrate the opening, the SEGA STORE TOKYO will be giving away free SEGA tumblers with any purchase of JPY 7,000 or more during its opening. Plus, store visitors from July 18 to 21 will get a special meet and greet with Sonic.

This store will open on July 18, and it is located at the Shibuya PARCO mall.
