hey everyone welcome back to the channel In this video we will take you on a multi-day adventure through Japan Starting with a late night arrival in Tokyo exploring Nagago’s hidden coffee shops and how the Rolex 80 game works in Japan Then we’ll indulge in local food favorites like Mizukatu and Humubashi diving into Kyoto’s macho culture and ending with exclusive boutique watch pickups at Kuay From high-end watches to traditional treats this is a journey that blends herology with culinary discoveries [Music] Before we dive in don’t forget to hit that like and subscribe for more watch adventures food finds and travel content from Japan and beyond Every little bit helps and I really appreciate your support We landed at Naruto Airport and were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we got through customs After gathering our luggage we hopped on the Naruto Express bound for Tokyo station where our hotel was located It was already in the evening but the ride into the city gave us a first taste of the familiar Tokyo energy Once we checked in we decided to take a short walk to decompress The streets were quiet but alive in that unique Japanese way Neon lights were glowing convenience stores were open and a calm buzz in the air We grabbed a light snack from the Kongini nearby and admired the surroundings and called it a night We’re excited for the journey ahead to Nagagoya We boarded the Shinkansen early and made our way to Nagagoya Before the train took off we grabbed an ecuben for breakfast And in case you guys don’t know what an echiban is it’s a special type of bento box sold at train stations across Japan especially on the Shinkansen platforms The ecuben are usually beautiful prepared and often feature regional specialties making them a delicious and convenient way to enjoy local cuisines while you’re traveling My wife had the tonkatu sandwich while I had the tonkatu bento They are omami packed and still have a lot of satisfying crunch even packed and prepped for journey There’s just something uniquely comforting about enjoying a well-made ecumen while speeding past Japan’s countryside [Music] After arriving to Nagagoya we begin our cave at a traditional coffee shop run by a kind husband and wife tool The star of the menu Uncle Toast crispy bread with a thick layer of red bean paste served with a cup of fresh brew Japanese coffee But they added their own twist Cherry banana phosphor kiwi orange marmalade jams top of a generous dow of fluffy sweet cream It was one of the most creative and indulgent versions of this classic treats I ever had The space was cozy and welcoming Clearly a neighborhood favorite with locals dropping in for their morning fix The couple behind the counter worked in perfect harmony preparing everything with care and heart [Music] Next we headed to the Rolex authorized dealer in Nagagoya Unlike in the US the ad process here requires advanced planning You must register 2 weeks in advance on their website for a chance at an appointment I’ve included a link in this post so it makes it easier for you if you’re planning a visit The shop was really well structured and efficient The sales associate communicate primarily via tablet offering preset responses in Japanese and in English Watches were mostly sealed away in classic and trying them on wasn’t allowed There’s also no guarantee you’ll be able to see specific models without a reservation I personally missed my chance to enter the boutique without a reservation but after talking to the sales associate and observing other visitors comments local seems to be favored Still this location is worth checking out if you’re able to book a reservation We also stopped by the tutor boutique where we learned the Tiffany Blue Chronograph arrived back in February It was reserved for VIP clients and unfortunately there wasn’t much else that stood out during our visit The staff were polite and helpful but my excitement was very limited given that’s what’s currently available For dinner we headed to Maria Honen at Noya Station for the renowned Hitsum Bushi This is an unagi rice bowl is enjoyed in three ways Plain with toppings and as oasuk with a hot broth Each bite offered a new experience making this meal a true highlight The eel was tender and crispy and definitely very flavorful in the restaurant atmosphere gives it a refined yet accessible vibe After dinner we made a quick stop at Don Ky a popular discount store Their watch section was surprisingly impressive packed with G-Shocks Seyos even brand new Rolexes priced at great market levels It’s definitely worth browsing if you’re curious to see what’s out there There’s a mix of affordability and luxury on the shelves and it was definitely quite something [Music] The next morning we hopped on a train to Kyoto home of timeless charm and watched the lights Our first stop was Mariko Coyo Mayan a legendary tea merchant with limited availability even within Japan We were lucky enough to pick up two rare cans of matcha Their aroma and color signal the high quality even before we had our first sip [Music] After tea shopping we treat ourselves to a matcha perfect a perfect midday break The combination of textures and deep green tea flavor made it unforgettable If you love matcha this should be on your bucket list Layers of jelly cream cake made it really enjoyable to dig through We then visit Koi Kyoto a watch boutique I was been eager to explore Nestled in the cultural heart of Kyoto Koi stands out as its vintage inspired designs and boutique exclusives As a collector I was particularly excited to see what made this location unique from a herology perspective [Music] I purchased a boutique exclusive Old Smith 982 with a green dial paired with a both a brown leather strap and needle option This model is only available in store and not sold online making a true killto find The mineralist design the color combination was a perfect fit for my collection My wife loved the green theme and decided to get the Old Smith 907 also in green to match mine Given our shared love for matcha this felt like a perfect way to remember Kyoto together The staff at Ko were very friendly and informative making this shopping experience smooth and special [Music] We wrapped up the day at a cozy matcha themed speak easy bar tucked away in a quiet alley [Music] A warm drink and some downtime made the soothing end of a busy day The dim lighting and calm decor gave the space a serene reflective vibe [Music] Afterwards we enjoyed a comforted gym bowl nearby that was just perfect to end our stay in Kiloto Simple flavorful and satisfying It was that kind of low-key meal that grounds you after a long and exciting day It gave us a taste of everyday kill to life [Music] Next stop we’re back to Tokyo again Refreshed and recharged we packed up for the next morning and boarded train back to Tokyo to continue our watch and food adventures through Japan Until then stay clocked in and stay tuned for our next adventure Heat Heat N [Music]
Join me on a unique journey through Kyoto as I combine two of my favorite thingsβwatches and food. This video highlights my visit to KUOE Kyoto, where I picked up a boutique-exclusive Old Smith 90-002 in green, paired with a brown leather strap and NATO. My wife also joined the green team with an Old Smith 90-007 to commemorate our trip!
Along the way, we indulged in Kyotoβs famous matcha parfait, visited the legendary Marukyu-Koyamaen tea shop, and ended the night with a cozy gyudon bowl after relaxing at a hidden matcha-themed speakeasy.

I was with my wife in Kyoto and Tokyo this past Christmas/ New Year's and always nice to see the sights and sounds and live vicariously through your trip. Good Luck in Tokyo, I didn't know of the two week rule prior to visiting and went to 10 or 11 rolex stores and they all would not sell me a watch. π
π Thanks for joining our Kyoto adventure!
π Which part was your favorite β the boutique-exclusive KUOE Old Smith, the matcha parfait, or that cozy speakeasy bar?
π Drop your watch or matcha recs for my next Japan trip!
A lot of great food and watches. That Kuoe Boutique experience looked incredible. The way they had the watch heads separated from all the straps/bracelets, so you could mix and match to your taste. Great service and a way to get customers really engaged. How can you not walk out of there with a watch. Congrats on the his/hers matcha themed watches!
