Uruma Island Hopping Adventure | Ocean Views, Water Sports & Hidden Beaches!
hi friends welcome to Okinawa Japan today we’re embarking on an unforgettable day trip through some of the most scenic and culturally rich spots in Aruma buckle up as we start our journey on the breathtaking Kaiu Road this is a beautiful bridge over crystal clear waters and Kaichu Road is a stunning 5 kilometer causeway connecting the Okinawa mainland to Henza Island despite its name meaning undersea road it’s actually built at top a shallow seabed offering panoramic views of the cobalt blue waters midway through you can stop at Umino Ekki Ayahashik a rest stop with local souvenirs and a maritime museum just outside this building you can enjoy a sweet treat at Blue Seal Ice Cream originally from the US Blue Seal has become an Okinawan favorite offering unique flavors inspired by local ingredients whether it’s Okinowan salt cookies or purple sweet potato there’s something for everyone parking could be challenging on weekends but you can park across the road and walk the overpass the views of the clear blue waters are beautiful from here as well we continue the scenic coastal drive to Henza Island a small but historically significant island once a hub for oil refineries while much of the island is restricted the village of Yaniurro Henza offers a glimpse into local life with seafood markets and traditional Okinawan homes in a few short minutes we make it to Miyagi Island on this island you will find the Senugadoo ruins remnants and I mean remnants of Okinawa’s ancient past these ruins provide insight into the islands early settlements and the Ryukian culture ever wondered how Okonoan sea salt is made at Nimasu salt factory you will not have the opportunity to witness the fascinating process of extracting salt from seawater but you will be able to see the salt through a series of windows we’ve been here many times but have never actually seen anyone work with the salt that’s on display but the staff explains that this factory produces some of the purest salt in Japan known for its health benefits and rich mineral content the breathtaking view of the ocean from here is definitely worth the visit next we are headed for EK Island nakaburu ruins on EK Island dates back over 2,000 years and on this archaeological site they reconstructed pit dwellings that offer a glimpse into prehistoric Okinawan life the 1978 revealed earthenware pots stone axes and accessories made from seashells some of the dwellings have been reconstructed to showcase traditional building techniques including lime walls and thatched roofs these ancient inhabitants were likely hunters and fishermen despite being connected to Okinawa’s main island by bridges EK remains rural and largely agricultural making it a peaceful and scenic destination ek Beach is also a very popular beach on this island but charges for parking and entering but if you are looking for something a little quieter drive toward the right when you enter the island and you are going to find a beautiful spot to spend the afternoon and it’s completely free a bit remote but this quiet beach town seems like an ideal location to live what do you think would you live here share your dream location to live in the comments below heading back we’ll stop by Heigga Island probably our favorite of all these islands there are two main beaches on the island both free to park and camp hamhiga Island is a tranquil retreat steeped in spiritual significance and surrounded by untouched natural beauty moroka Beach is famous for its clear waters and unique rock formations bring your inflatable beach toys and you’ll think you are in a luxurious spa this is a perfect location for an overnight stay under the stars our final stop is Hamiga Beach another serene camping spot with its soft sand and peaceful atmosphere it’s the perfect way to end our day trip be aware that this beautiful beach is no longer a secret on holidays families camp here and it could be difficult to find a parking spot but unlike many other beaches camping and parking are free and that’s a wrap on our Okinawa island hopping adventure from scenic drives to ancient ruins and pristine beaches this trip showcases the best of Auma’s hidden gems don’t forget to like subscribe and let us know in the comments which area you’d love to visit thanks for watching
