Welcome to another EconomyFlyer Channel Vlog! Leave a thumbs up, and share your insights through the comments section at the bottom! DETAILED REVIEW BELOW:
This is the most fun vlog experience by far. Today’s flight vlog will include 2 limited commercial jets, a rare 737 in Manila, and Japanese Air Self-Defense Force Mitsubishi F-15Js on takeoff.

Flight Details:
Aircraft: Airbus A321-271NEO (New Engine Option)
Registration: RP-C9936
Airline: Philippine Airlines
Flight Callsign: “Philippine” PR405
Time of Departure: 09:44 Japan Time
Time of Arrival: 14:19 Philippine Time (Gate Arrival: 14:27)
Total Flight Time: 05:35
Boarding Process:
Unlike the typical Philippine Airlines boarding in Narita, Haneda, and Kansai, (Japan), and Manila (Philippines), the only priority were people with disabilities, and the elderly. After the aforementioned were boarded, a mix of business class and economy class of all rows were allowed to embark into the aircraft.
In-flight Meal and Service:
I did not like the food on this flight. Its taste was below the standard meal I usually eat when aboard Philippine Airlines’ flights. I ate the Western option which was pork on top of noodles, served with jelly, and a salad. This was very bland. Two seats away from me was a lady who was able to catch the last Japanese menu option (tempura, rice, salad, jelly, and fruit), and she seemed to have enjoyed her meal. There was a good amount of choices for drinks. (wine, cola, beer, sparkling lemon juice, 7-up, coffee, tea, bottled water, orange and apple juice) Water was served to everyone prior to initial descent into Manila. The crew, as always welcomed each passenger warmly. Each cabin crew member, regardless of seniority had a consistent smile whenever serving meals and taking orders just like all my flights with the airline.
Aircraft Experience:
My previous video (from Manila to Sapporo) was on an Airbus A320-200. I was glad today’s flight was on the new Airbus A321neo. The aircraft had a really good interior design. The upholstery on the chairs was very nice. I wish I had been able to take a clearer and close up video to show how well designed the aircraft is. (I hope ground staff along with PAL can maintain it to be that way for a long time) Seat pitch was fair for a 5 hour plane ride, and the legroom is much more roomy compared to the economy class seats of the older A320s of PAL, Turkish Airlines’ A321s, and Lufthansa’s A319s. The in-flight entertainment was also great. There was a good collection of different movies and tv shows that could keep you entertained throughout the duration of the flight, and so much more even if there are delays. The collection included movies and series from China, Japan, Korea, Hollywood, and Philippine Television. There was also a good amount of music on board. On this flight, there was myPAL Player on board, along with OnAir WiFi service. The internet on board was decent. The first 15MB is for FREE, and the rates were reasonable at US$5 for 35MB, and US$20 for 150MB. The new application (linked below) can also control your IFE system. I highly recommend downloading this before your flight with the airline. This allows your phone/device to be the remote control of the seat monitor in front of you.
