The Nazi Parade Ground That Became a Park for Peace

this park literally consists of history during the Second World War this area was mostly flat and the Nazi party the NSDRP held their parades there it was called Mayfield or Mayfield back then in the Second World War the city of Cologne was mostly destroyed and after the war they needed places where they could put all the debris from the ruins and this was one of the places thus this flat area became a hill in the 2000s the Peace Forum of Cologne was looking for a place where they could commemorate the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagazaki and because of its proximity to the Japan Foundation and the Museum for East Asian Arts they thought this was the perfect place and that is the reason why this park today is called Hiroshima Nagazaki Park and when you come here and stand on top of the hill you have literally history beneath your feet and around
