we are back in Japan for another adventure and since we got so many questions about where to go and what to do when traveling to Japan we decided to make this video with our top five places to visit and things you must do when in Japan before we start make sure to save this video for your next trip to Japan and share it with your friends and let’s dive right in number five Kyoto kyoto used to be the capital of Japan from 794 to 1868 and is now one of the most popular cities to visit and it’s no surprise why it’s home to over 2,000 temples and shrines making it an ideal destination for history buffs and those looking to immerse themselves in Japanese culture in addition it’s also known for its beautiful gardens tea houses and geishas one fun fact about Kyoto is that it was the inspiration for Hayo Miyazaki’s animated films like My Neighbor Toro and Spirited Away two of the most famous scenes in these movies were actually filmed at the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine if you’re a fan of Studio Ghibli make sure to add this place to your list there are over 10,000 Vermillion Tory gates surrounding the shrine and it can take up to 2 days to explore the entire complex but if you’re short on time don’t worry you can get some amazing photos just by visiting the main area what to do asterisk visit Fushimi Inari Shrine stroll through the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove explore the Golden Pavilion the most thrilling roller coasters and entertaining shows in the country one fun fact about Osaka is that it’s known as the kitchen of Japan because it supplies most of the country with its food so bronze statue that’s one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks visitors can also explore Terua Gaka Hachimango Shrine a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of war and enjoy the picturesque gardens and koi ponds one fun fact about Kamakura is that it’s also known as the deer capital of Japan you can see hundreds of wild deer roaming around the city especially around the Koku in temple what to do visit the great Buddha of Kamakura explore Surugaka Hakimangu Shrine take a stroll through the bamboo grove asterisk relax on the beach and enjoy the ocean breeze don’t forget to try some of Kamakura’s Hida Folk Village an open air museum that showcases traditional Japanese farmhouses and rural life one of the most anticipated events in Takyama is the annual spring and autumn festival which features colorful parades with local farmers and their families dressed in traditional clothing these festivals are a great opportunity to experience Japanese culture and history firsthand what to do asterisk
