Everything I Ate In Greece 2025 🇬🇷
Hey everyone. I hope you’re having a
great day. Join me, we’re going to be in Greece right now. We’re in Athens
and we’re going to check out all the food that they have to offer including
the islands of Santorini and Mykonos. So come along with the journey of our foodie
adventure here in Greece. Let’s go. [Music] Hello everyone today’s first restaurant
we’re at is Dia Tauta. It is in Monastiraki Square. Kind of sort of in the archaeological sites of the
Angora area. We’re here just chilling having dinner. Usually Europeans have dinner really
late. So it’s super empty here, but it’s about 6:00 pm and we’re going to try some Greek food from here.
We ordered some red wine, some Greek salad, some Greek grilled octopus, and some moussaka to start off our dinner here in Athens Greece. So come along and try some awesome Greek food with us. Alright the
wine came out really quickly. I asked the guy what the most recommended red wine is. They’re all from
Greece. So he pointed at one – I don’t know the name – that’s really good. Very fruity. Lots of
berries on the end. Good red wine. Aiden got the banana juice. We’re very curious
about about it because it’s on every menu that we’ve been at they have banana juice.
So we didn’t know what that was. How was it? What’s it taste like? Does it really
taste like real bananas? Like a banana? Like is it real or like artificial?
Alright he’s not sure, but I will try it. It’s a little sour and has banana flavoring
in it but it tastes artificial. Kind of like a banana pudding from the South or something.
Interesting. What I like about here too is it’s outdoors. This is not the only restaurant that’s
like that. You can sit outside and people watch. They also have an indoor section where they have
live music later on, but in case we stay later I don’t want to really hear too much loud music.
But out here there’s some street performers doing some accordions. I’m not sure if you can
hear it and it’s very nice and relaxing. The sun’s going down. It’s super hot here. I think it
was like 95° today for a high, but sun’s coming down and it’s really beautiful. People here
have been friendly so far and it’s a pretty clean city. So we’re enjoying ourselves. Okay first
off we have our salad, which is a Greek salad. It’s got some beautiful tomatoes, feta cheese, tomatoes,
cucumbers, onions, and kalamata olives. Let’s try it out. Such fresh juicy tomatoes, nice light
salt on there, olive oil, oregano flavor, and olive oil and the crisp cucumber. And the
feta cheese is so salty. It just pairs well with everything and it’s a an acquired taste,
but I love kalamata olives. They’re my favorite. Next up we’re going to try the grilled octopus. It
looks amazing. It has roasted vegetables on the side or underneath it anyway. Looks like some
carrots. I’m not sure what the green stuff is. Might be a cucumber even and some potatoes. This is
a piece of it. It’s very tender when I cut into it. Wow! Mmm that’s tender, lemony… You have that
grilled charred flavor from the grill. It has hints of oregano and some kind of fresh herb.
I’m not sure what it is but you see it on the top. Let me taste some of it. Might be um parsley. I’m
not sure. You see some of that green stuff on there. It is so tender. Just like so
easy to chew. Some roasted potatoes. It is buttery, lemony, and herby. It’s
so good. You got to try octopus here in Greece it’s delicious. Alright
I’m going to try the moussaka, which is an eggplant, cheese and meat thing. Almost like
a Greek lasagna in a way without the pasta. i love eggplant. I’ve had many moussakas before.
This one doesn’t have as much spice to it as we put in the states anyway or maybe it’s just
this particular restaurant. But sometimes you taste nutmeg or stuff. The eggplant’s really soft.
There’s a lot of meat in there. I’m assuming it’s like ground beef and some cheese. Delicious. And
you can see that crusty top where the cheese got melted and all the layers of the beef and the
eggplant and the cheesy…almost like a bechamel cheese. So that was Dia Tauta. I’m not sure if I’m
saying it right but it, was an amazing meal. Right off the same road as the Hard Rock Cafe. Avoid that
place and go to a great local restaurant instead. When in Greece or Europe you need to have an Aperol Spritz. So that’s what I’m having in between meals. First time having it actually.
Oh thank you sir. That’s good. I heard it was bitter, but it’s not. It’s
a little bit bitter, but it’s very orangey. Like orangey like Bubly or
something or like those bubbly waters. It’s good. Probably get all buss (slang for drunk) on that. Some
beer. That’s Greek beer. Why not double fist? I’m on
vacation. Yes sir. [Music] We’re at Attika Bakery and we got some
baklava, which is the staple dessert of Greece and Turkey. They both argue which has
the best baklava, but since we’re here first let’s try some baklava from this bakery. We
have the original big baklava and these are mini ones with pistachio. Alright here’s
the pistachio one. Let’s try it out. It’s dripping honey. Yeah that’s good! The original
baklava, it’s got all the nuts in it and the phyllo dough. Oh my god! We are having breakfast here at the 360
Degree Hotel. This is the hotel we’re staying at and they get free breakfast buffet while you’re
here as a guest and I will say this is our first day eating it. They’ve got some delicious
croissants, got a spanakopita bread, that’s this thing here. And some rosemary potatoes, bacon,
delicious looking eggs, sausage, and a beef stew which was interesting, as well as a Greek salad
for me. Let’s try this stew. It looks delicious. Mmm that tastes amazing. It reminds me of
Vietnamese beef stew or the stew I used to have when I was in Hanoi. Here’s some rosemary
potatoes. That’s really good. There’s some little smokies. Alright let’s taste the spanakopita.
Has feta cheese in there with some spinach. Crispy, savory, almost like a cheesy cracker
taste because of the phyllo dough. Really good. I forgot forgot to mention that little smokie was not to my
taste. It tastes very different. I didn’t really care for it. And here is the bacon as well.
Almost looks like a Canadian bacon type ham more than American bacon. Don’t really care
for bacon in Europe, but let’s give it a go. It’s all right. It’s like ham. And then there’s a
delicious looking egg with a perfect yolk. That’s really good and some delicious croissants. Nice,
buttery, flaky. You got to top it off with some Greek salad with some olive oil and salt. My favorite
kalamata olives. A great breakfast for sure. Okay we’re here at the famous place in Athens Lukumades.
And this is their dessert named for the same thing. Here it is. It is a fried donut
and you can see them freshly frying it in the shop. Super friendly people and then they put
the toppings that you want. The most traditional way is honey and cinnamon. We got the pistachio
praline. That’s what it’s called on their menu. It’s just like a pistachio cream. Let’s taste this.
It’s super crunchy, dripping with that pistachio. Mmmm holy moly! It tastes exactly like a soft fluffy
andagi with that pistachio cream. It’s like a sweet creamy glaze or an icing. It is amazing.
The inside’s fluffy and airy. Exactly tastes like an andagi. It is amazing. If you don’t know what
that is, it’s an Okinawan donut. I would say it’s much lighter than a malasada because it’s very
airy and fluffy inside. So good. If you ever come to Athens, definitely get these. We came to the
popular Lukumades Greek dessert restaurant here in the center of Athens, but I’m sure they serve
them elsewhere. But this is like the top spot to get them. Delicious! And of course you need to get
a cappuccino or some kind of espresso with it. It goes so well with coffee and they make a mean
cappuccino here. Super delicious way to start the day. I know we just had breakfast, but we
have our carbs to go hike the Acropolis now. [Music] You know it’s beer o’clock for me. So
here’s a Mythos beer. It’s a Greek beer. 500 ml size. Not bad for five bucks or 5 euro or whatever. Cooling down from that really strenuous hike. So, putting back the calories. It’s liquid bread you
know? And Aiden’s having his milkshake. They make really great milkshakes here in Greece. They
have other flavors other than the chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. They also have fig flavored and
banana flavored milkshakes here. We are here at Efcharis Restaurant. It’s also near our hotel.
Probably touristy, but has very high ratings on Google. We don’t want to walk too far. Every
restaurant here you can’t go wrong. Even if it’s touristy. We have a big platter of seafood. Look at
that. And it’s got shrimp in it, some hummus, some fried fish that’s white meat, fried calamari, and
some fried sardines. And Aiden’s favorite octopus. It’s also looks like it has a raw salmon in
there, which is interesting. We also got a side of fried potatoes, which look super crispy. Almost
looks like chips. So let’s dig in. Squeeze some lemon on it before we start. Delicious. Alright
let’s start out with the white meat. Oh my god that’s good. Perfect salt. Crispy. This
is the fried calamari. So good and this is the grilled octopus. Again this is
Aiden’s favorite tossed in olive oil and grilled. That’s really good.
Every restaurant makes it different, but it’s all good. And there’s a whole bunch of
fried sardines. Nice and crispy. They cleaned everything so you don’t have to worry
about the bones. Brah, that is good. It tastes like fried oama (Hawaiian fish) with the
breading of the flour. Just simple, clean taste of salt and the flour. This is good. The
food so far here has been excellent. I cannot complain. Every restaurant we’ve been to it’s been
delicious. I’m going to dip it in some hummus. That was the squid. that was good. Try a chip. That is bomb. So good. And look at this
shrimp head on and everything fried crispy. Everything’s so good. Definitely come here
if you like seafood. They have meat dishes as well if you don’t eat seafood. It’s crowded
here and it’s 5:00 p.m and usually it doesn’t get crowded this early in Europe for dinner.
They eat dinner later so you can tell this is a good restaurant because it’s crowded all
the time. They also have raw salmon here. Not sure if it’s kind of like
lox, like that you put on bagels. Yeah it’s smoked lox. So the same
smoked salmon you would put on bagels. Really good and I got the semi sweet
wine, which is actually really sweet. Which balances…usually you don’t have red wine
with it it’s kind of a rosé, but the sweetness balances out the saltiness of all the fish. Which
is a good saltiness like I said really simple. Just salt and pepper kind of taste, but it brings me
back to fried fish that we have in Hawai’i at home. If you like seafood this is the place to be. Like I
said, but I’ll go show you the menu, they have a lot of Greek authentic traditional cuisine – dolmas,
different things eggplant dishes, salads, and grilled lamb, souvlaki, gyros…we haven’t touched gyros yet but we’re going to touch it when we get to the other islands and try it. We just couldn’t
resist the seafood here. It is so delicious. So check out the menu that you see and I’m
sure if you ever come to Greece try it out. It is a wonderful restaurant. Everything’s so
delicious. Alright we searched everywhere for this traditional Greek pastry. It’s a pontikaki. That’s
what she said (baker). It is the mouse pastry, which is a chocolate cake shaped as a mouse. It’s so cute.
Oh my god I almost dropped it, but I’m going to taste it because it is a traditional Greek
dessert here. It is… it’s like a chocolate mousse. It’s got like mousse in it and some cocoa powder. And the outside’s just rich dark chocolate. Sorry
braddah mouse, i ate your face, but you’re super good. Delicious and we got it from Thiseio Bakery,
which was a 13-minute walk from our place. The lady that owns the bakery is super cool. Super nice.
We got a berry parfait, the mouse cake, and then she threw in some like bagels. Greek kind of bagels for
free. Super nice lady. That mouse cake’s really good and I’m not even a sweets person. Just a rich
chocolatey outside and then the fluffy mousse with a cocoa powder. It’s quite delicious. Not
too sweet. Go get you some when you’re in Greece. Hey guys this is not Greece, but we’re going
to throw it in as one of the stops here. We’re here in Kusadasi, Turkey that’s how you
say it according to a local that told us. It’s not “Kusa-dasaa” or “Kusha-dasee.” It’s Kusha-
Dasa and it’s a seaside town here in Ephesus. Kind of near Ephesus, Turkey and we’re
here to have some doner kebabs. That is where you get some delicious doner kebabs. We’re right
across from our ship. That’s how we’re traveling most of the time. Not sure if you can see it.
We’re right across the street from the sea. That is the Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas. Our first
time with Royal Caribbean. We’ll show you our doner. We got some doner with rice and some doner
with pita. Not too much into wraps or sandwiches but if you want it in a wrap or sandwich or a pita
bread in a sandwich form they will do it for you. We asked our tour guide. We went on a tour of
the House of the Virgin Mary and she recommended this restaurant. So she’s a local so we’re here.
Oh look at this doner. Delicious seared meat. They said it’s beef. Some fresh veggies and some bread
to wrap it in. My son got the doner exactly the same, but it’s got rice underneath. We didn’t know that
it would come with pita bread but that’s a lot of food for a pretty cheap price too. And they
give you these forks that are wrapped and clean. Alright let’s take some bread. Put some crispy delicious doner meat in
there. Some onion, tomato and a bit of lettuce. Really good meat, but it’s the onions that make it. Anything with onion is delicious.
I’m going to try the meat on its own. Really good seasoning. Has a nice salty
seasoning on there but it’s good with the bread so it doesn’t taste salty at all.
And on every table there is pickled peppers. So let’s take some. Alright they
pretty much look like pepperoncini. Yeah they’re like pepperocinis. A little
bit spicier because they’re tinier peppers. But I think it gives it a nice kick. Gives it
more flavor. So cheers to the donor in Turkey. First time having doner in Turkey even though
I do love doner. Great sliced tender meats seasoned really well. Not too fatty and I
love the fresh veggies and the peppers. Cheers! So if you don’t know,
there’s kind of like a light-hearted little debate whether baklava is better in
Turkey or Greece. And they often fight about it. So this place sold fresh baklava by the box,
but we don’t want that many. Like a huge box. We just wanted it by the kilo. So they
also can do that. So we got the small box and I chose the small little pieces because
they’re easier to eat. They do have the big traditional squares just like the one we
had in Athens. So let’s try it. It’s beautiful as you can see. Nice crispy layers of phyllo
dough and a little bit of a powdered or crushed pistachio on it – or when we go to Italy
we’re going to have to say “pis-tak-ee-o.” So let’s go. This one’s different. It has kind of like a
funky dairy taste to it. Almost like a feta cheese. I don’t know how where that’s
coming from, but it has that taste of feta. I’m not sure…strange, but it is
flaky just like the phyllo dough in Greece. I’m not sure if it’s the butter that’s
giving it that really heavy dairy taste. But also soaked in honey. So lots of
honey. No worries about that. But in my personal opinion, I did like the
one in Greece better. Sorry. [Music] Hey guys we’re in Greece still, but we are in Santorini
and it is very beautiful. We’re here for 2 days. We were supposed to go to Mykonos, but it got cancelled due to high winds. I am here in a restaurant on the top with beautiful views and I am trying their
Blue Monkey beer. This is a beer from Santorini. Ooh that’s really smooth. That’s nice.
wow really crisp and clear. I want to show you what it looks like. We got here kind of late and
the sun sets late. Right now it’s about 9:00 pm. The sun just set. You can see the beautiful skyline
and the views are amazing. So my son is totally addicted to the grilled octopus. So we got it
again. I want to try it here since we’re on the islands and it’s fresh seafood but we also
had to try the pork souvlaki, which is a kind of skewer kebab – a Greek version of course, with
fries and pita bread. So we’ll show you that when the food comes. Alright we got our food and
Aiden noticed a blood moon. I tried to video it, but it doesn’t come out as red on camera, but
it is a beautiful night with a full moon. I got some hummus here with our grilled octopus. So we’re going to try that out. Here it is. Mmm everything’s so beautifully presented. Tastes so good. Comes with
some grilled vegetables – some zucchini, eggplant, and bell peppers. Absolutely love Greek food. Simple
flavors, fresh food, lots of veggies, has some salad. amazing. So delicious. Big, juicy, meaty pieces.
You get two legs and they’re grilled. So every time you walk around Greece you smell that
grilled flavor like barbecue. It is amazing food. If you like barbecued things you’re going to like
Greek food. Okay next up on our dinner is pork souvlaki, which is a grilled marinated pork.
You can also get chicken if you want. Usually it’s got some nice grill marks on there and
you dip it in some tzatziki sauce and it’s got some grilled pita bread. And you eat it together you
can put it in there and make a sandwich, but it’s kind of hard to open this one. So I’m just going
to eat each one differently like separately. Man that’s bomb. Nice
grilled pork chop flavor. Love the char on the pork. You can tell it’s been
grilled on coals and most Greek meals come with French fries. So you got those. They’re just
standard French fries, but they’re good potatoes and they’re thick. But the pork here is winners.
Definitely come down here if you’re ever in Santorini or you’re taking a cruise. The name is
Parea Tavern. It’s a little bit more in from the entrance way of the cable cars. Of course if
you go anywhere near the cable cars more by the entrance, it’s going to be more expensive. So
take your time walk more into the city of Fira and check out this restaurant. They’re all going to
be expensive because it’s a touristy town, but the food here is definitely good quality. We’re here
in Santorini again. It’s the next morning and what better view to wake up to and have some pistachio
ice cream. It’s actually gelato and it’s delicious. Alright it’s our last day in Greece and
Santorini and we’re here at a restaurant in Fira. We had some great wine and snacks and pistachio
ice cream in Oia, which is the other town over. We have some delicious mussels fresh from the
sea and some grilled prawns for lunch. Along with some bread with some dipping sauce
with some fish roe. Here’s some mussels. It’s sauteed in white wine from Santorini
and also some garlic and butter. So cheers. the food here is delicious. We also have
some big prawns. Very meaty and with the head on and they’re just simply grilled with
salt. Comes with some onions and tomato and some orzo it looks like. Cheers. Really fresh seafood here. it is delicious. They
also have full fried fishes, but it’s a little bit too much food for us. So we haven’t gotten
a fish here, but definitely try the seafood if you’re ever in Santorini. We also have some
bread with some delicious hummus. They say something different here, but I can’t understand
but it’s a different word for hummus. We ordered something with fish roe too so I’m not sure if
this is it, but it tastes pretty much like hummus. So yes this dip has fish roe
in it. It was confirmed. So it has a umami taste, but it tastes like hummus. I’m telling you, this Greek food is delicious.
Everything we’ve had in Athens to Santorini is wonderful. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Definitely
get you some fresh seafood and enjoy it with some Donkey Beer. That is the brewery in Santorini other
than the Blue Monkey. A delicious cold refreshing beverage to have in Santorini during the summer.
it is very hot here. Hotter than at home. So having a nice cold drink is delicious and refreshing. So
from Greece, thank you for joining me on everything we ate in Greece. Definitely would love to come
back here again and eat all the food. The people were wonderful, super friendly, very accommodating
and a beautiful place to be. So if you liked this press the like button, subscribe if you’re new,
and I’ll see you again on another adventure because we’re hitting Italy next. So see you in that video
where we eat everything in Italy. Peace out. Aloha. 🤙🌈🌺✌️
Join me as I trek through Athens and Santorini, Greece to eat some amazing food. Greece was probably one if the top 3 international destinations I’ve been to so far. I enjoyed the people, historical sites and of course, the food.

I hope your phone is silenced so I don't disturb you with this comment. How the heck did you not come home as big as a house after this unbelievable food tour of Greece? Amazing looking seafood and everything else you filmed! I am so jealous of you and Aiden, but also happy you had a great time. All that food was so amazing, I need some grilled octopus! Aiden is becoming a foodie for sure! Amazing video! Kudos to your hard work.

Mahalo for sharing your and Aiden's food experience!
My cousin on Maui is an expert tako hunter. He used to snip the legs of tenderized tako onto a hibachi with kiawe. Da bestest pupu!
Awesome Misty ❤ Mahalo for sharing delicious foods from Greece 🎉 Safe travels ❣️Aloha Gail & Chris

🙂 WOW ! You are on the other side of the World ! ! EnJOY and safe travels : ) ALL the BEST ! ! !
Loved this delicious journey through Athens, Santorini, and even a quick stop in Kuşadası! 🇬🇷🇹🇷 From those vibrant street gyros in Athens to fresh seafood by the Santorini cliffs—and that charming Turkish bite—it all looked incredible. Your honest impressions and cultural insights made it feel like I was traveling right alongside you. Can’t wait to plan my own Greek food adventure! 😋✨
Wow great video Misty! Greece looks so beautiful. Food looks so ono too!
Crazy! I was craving "Greek" food here and made a trek late morning for it. I did enjoy it, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't as authentic as what I'm about to see. Total game-changer, Misty! I wasn't expecting this at all!
watch the heat and stay hydrated.
Its gonna sound dumb, but honestly, I cannot get out of my head with food from Greece being greasy. Ever since I was a kid I had those thoughts. LOL. Hey wait, Did I just see Plato walking by? How were the sites? While I was in Germany, Doner was everywhere. And everyone I was working with ate that stuff up. Music reminds me of a flamenco guitarist by the name of Armik.
Food looks delicious 😊
Wow, that was amazing! Thank you for taking us along on your holiday! Sue
I love the icecream man who teased Aiden!!! Too funny!!! The donner meat looked ono, spiced nicely and looking juicy. I love baklava, too. A bit sweet though. Did they say why the residential homes are all painted white? What an interesting tour. Nicely grilled and glistening Slovaki and tako.
