$16,000 Japan Airlines New First Class Flight | London🇬🇧 – Tokyo🇯🇵

Hello, today we are in the British capital of London. Today, I’m flying First Class on JAL’s new a350-1000 featuring private suites. It’s said to be a major leap forward from the previous seats, so I can’t wait to try it myself. Terminal 3 is the biggest one at Heathrow Airport, home to Oneworld airlines like JAL. I’ve already secured my boarding pass. It’s a flimsy paper, but the “F” really stands out. This is the route. The flight covers a distance of approximately 9,615 kilometers (5,974  miles) and has a scheduled duration of about 13 hours and 50 minutes. The regular cost is around $16,600/¥2,400,000 but this time it was 80,000 miles plus a ¥75,000 surcharge. My flight will be JL44. Flying First Class. 5 hours until my plane departs. It doesn’t matter much for me as I will be using the lounge provided by my first class status. There is no JAL Lounge outside of Japan so I will be using the Cathay first class lounge. It’s on the smaller end as it is connected with the cathay business class lounge. There’s your bar and buffet but there’s also… Theres a restaurant to enjoy lunch here. A la carte menu. Let’s see. What should I get? Califlower steak? oh no. Obviously the Dan Dan mien sounds good. I am of course a fan fan man of it. … AHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA Alright, my food is here. The dim sum. And the Dan dan mien. I missed you green onions. Thank you ancient Chinese people for the creation of such greatness. The dim sum is very dim sum as well. As expected, Chinese food was the best on Cathay Pacific. I got the celery soup. Wow. I could smell the celery a mile away. I’ll try the green part. Wow. It doesn’t taste like celery. Smells strong. Tastes mild. I’m still feeling hungry. What should I eat? Fried rice and chicken skewers. Hey, the chicken is pretty grilled. What do I use the lime for? I don’t know so I’m going to spray it on everything. Thumbs up. I thought it was colored pasta but its vegetables. There is food yet to be discovered. Hmm. I’ve never been to this place. Wow Tokyo! What a great place it must be! Hmmm. Sunrise Izumo. It seems like a great journey. 15:44 What should I do? I would like to shower before boarding. Great, now I’m ready. It’s the brand I used on the Shikishima Luxury Train. It’s a small world we live in. Sorry guys, I need to order my snack before departure. Oops, déjà vu with extra calories. And my lucky mojito. It’s time to head to Japan. Let’s go. I forgot my jacket, ahh. Close call. It’s time. I’m very happy to be able to be visit a country like Japan. I’ve heard it’s a nice place. London JL044. I’m boarding on first class. Exciting! Here’s my seat 2K. My ticket says ‘seat,’ but it’s actually more like a private room. The seats are actually insane. The first class cabins are a 1-1-1 configuration with only 6 seats available. There’s walking space in my “seat.” Compared to the former first class 1-2-1 layout It’s an upgrade! There’s no upper storage area. So, there’s Luggage storage elsewhere. Here’s a closet. And a luggage space. The slippers have survived the transition from the 777 to the A350-1000, and so did the pajamas. I want to change into my pajamas as soon as possible so here we go. Because of the newly built privacy doors, I was told i can change in my seat. Wow, that’s so convinient. The fully closable sliding doors are inspired by traditional shōji screens. This is the first class pajamas. One of the most comfortable pajamas that airlines offers. But kind of dusty. Unlike the previous generation there is now a closet so no need to cram your clothes into the overhead bin. There is a shoe compartment, and another storage. Storage cabinets. And more amenities. I’ll go over that later. There is another storage. And this is the newly improved… Table I’m not sure if it’s upgraded or not, because it’s heavy. A good workout. might be JAL’s underlying motive. This is the biggest visible upgrade, the seating. It says up to 3 per flight but It can seat 3 just on the main seating alone. I can open a family restaurant here. The sofa will turn itself into a bed like this. Look at that. The sofa doubles as a coffee table when you’re not lounging. Even the small sofa can be converted into a full-flat bed. My imaginary child can sleep here. The TV looks small. But look. It’s a 43 inch. Who in their right mind thought of adding a 43 inch tv in a commercial airplane seat? There are 3 options to listen to music. From the headphones. From the built in headrest speakers, or your own bluetooth device. Some say that the movie selection is subpar but when there’s wifi on board. Who is going to watch a movie nowadays. An upgrade from the small control is the tablet. It can do all the thing that the controller can. I don’t get the hype for Wireless charging but here it is. I’d rather use the traditional power outlet or the USB C charging located on both sides of the seat. Let’s go over the amenties. Bang & Olufsen Noise Cancelling headphones. These noise cancelling headphones costs $749. Yes, let me put it back I don’t want it to break. Now. Looks like that opening scene in Monsters Inc. A very intresting design. Earplugs. Eyemask. Pocket Tissue. Comb. Cable with both USB C and Lighting. Hand Cream. Lip Stick. Moisture Mask. Mouth Wash. And skincare Face cleanser. Hydration lotion. anti-aging cream. That’s all folks. Let’s remove these pillows so I can sit down. and the blanket. Maybe the blanket can stay. I’m not usually one to pay attention to small gestures, but something about the way the JAL crew handled even a simple sheet of paper felt graceful. it was so graceful I had to replay it in slow motion. If this were American Airlines, I might’ve been handed champagne in a paper cup, no slow motion required. It was the moment I truly felt what real first class is like. Thank you so much. We are blasting off again. Goodbye London. Here is the menu and the drinks. It’s the JAL first class chef all stars. JAL’s in-flight meals are ranked among the best in the world, particularly for their excellence in Japanese cuisine. It also offers a world-class beverage selection, featuring rare Japanese whiskies, top-tier sakes, and elegant wines curated by sommeliers. I’m very excited for the meal. As always there are two meal options. Japanese and international cuisine. If you don’t know which to choose, just pick the one with a chef next to the cuisine. Usually the better option. My meal has started. The amuse or the pre appetizer. What is this? Yes, there’s such thing as a pre appetizer. There’s salmon roe on it. And It’s some beetroot. Champagne billecart salmon cuvee Louis salmon 2012. Cuvée Louis Salmon Blanc de Blancs is made exclusively from white grapes by the world-renowned maison Billecart Salmon, known for its top-quality Champagne. I know nothing about wine but that seems cool. Ok, let’s go. Let’s try. It tasted a bit like a fancy version of chikuwa. maybe with a radish-based sauce? What is this? Then came a layered vegetable quiche, with tomato and zucchini. Perfectly sized and really tasty. Thank you for the meail. I ordered my Japanese meal but if you ask Pro tip They will serve you caviar for appetizers. And here is caviar. Look at the upgrade it got. It looks better than the previous first class meals. Mhm. This is it. I thought you mix it. So I will. I ran out before I knew. I still have my faucet with me. Still left. Thanks for the meal. My second meal arrives. It’s the Japanese kozara. Curated by Chef Daisuke Hayashi, the meal begins with five colorful seasonal appetizers. this meal begins with five beautifully presented small plates. These seasonal appetizers showcase a rich variety of flavors that change throughout the year. I almost forgot about the 14 generation sake. And as for the drink a rare and exquisite sake, often considered a hidden gem. The sake made me realize that I was not left handed but right handed. Thank you sake. Lemon Flavoured, Marinated Salmon, Chives, Pink Peppercorn. Wait. This is actually very nice. I’ll try these little seeds. Ok, let’s not try anymore. It was good. Fish Cake Stuffed, Shiitake Mushroom, Green Beans, Yuzu Peels. Fishcake wearing a mushroom ah dish. I can taste a bit of the yuzu peels. Carrot & Radish in Vinegar Sauce, Soy-marinated, Salmon Roe, Simmered Prawn. Shredded vegetables. Deep-fried Crab Cake with Rocket Sauce, Goji Berry. Crab cake huh. Cauliflower Bavarois, Caviar. Ok this one is nice. Tastes nothing like cauliflower. Has a nice salty taste. Thanks for the fooders. There are a billion dishes for the next meal. The Owan. Saikyo Miso Soup with Egg Yolk Coated Fried Lobster, Tofu, Snow Peas, Shiitake Mushroom & Yuzu Peels. This looks promising. What are these yellow balls? These yellow ball’s were the lobster. Lobsters🦞 Thank you very much. Let’s try the soup. Saikyo soup. Wow. I’m going to get sent to the heveans. Wow. The umami is at its peak. The best soup I’ve had in months. This man is the greatest right now. Mukozuke. Scallop, Red King Crab, Char Siu Pork Simmered Spinach, Pumpkin, Simmered Tomato. Cress, Edible Flowers, Sliced Beets. Celeriac Sauce, Japanese Dashi Broth Jelly. I’ll go for this. No. I’ll try the abalone. Is that pear inside? Has that texture of a pear? Azukebachi. Tender Simmered Abalone with Pear Vinegar Jelly & “Wakame” Seaweed. Wow, the size of this scallop. Great! I haven’t had chashu pork this good in weeks Oh my. Its too wasteful to eat it in one bite. I literally at a patch of grass. Alright. Shiizakana. Thanks for the meal. I ordered a glass of red wine this time. Chateau Lagrange 2017 France Because I ordered a red wine, the next dish will be this one. Wagyu Beef Sukiyaki with Egg Truffle Sauce. And Hanmono Kintoki Carrot Rice with Yuzu Peels. Steamed Rice. Wow, it’s so beautiful. I’ve never had truffle before. Tastes like money. Japanese Clear Soup with Sesame Tofu & Grated Ginger. Ginger soup. Let’s me say it again. GINGER SOUP. Assorted Pickles
Kanmi So this is my truffle debut. So this is what it tastes like. Wow this tastes so good. The truffle has a strong taste. So to pair it The cabin attendant recommended me this. I’m going to do something called a pro gamer move. Cavier on truffle. Hahaha Truffle Do you know what heaven tastes like? This is what heaven tastes like. I’d like to just enjoy this quietly for a moment. Wow, this is pretty nice. Ok Wow. This is amazing. If you know what that means. Congratulations! Kamekudo Kuzumochi Matcha, Yoshinokuzu Ankoball And Blue Tea Known as the “Lady of Tea,”Queen of Blue Deluxe is one of the finest teas in the world. Each bottle is handcrafted with the utmost care. This exceptional tea is served exclusively in JAL’s First Class. Look at it jiggle. Hahaha Thanks for the food. I can’t eat anymore. And I’m getting a bit tired. Perfect It’s time for sleep. There are two sides Hard or soft I always choose the hard side. The bed is complete. I want to brush my teeth before bed. I’m here in the bathroom. The washroom did not get a massive upgrade when compared to the cabin, Toothbrush Mouth wash I don’t know part 1 I don’t know part 2 Bidet, long time no see. Let’s head back to my room. 9 hours and a half to go. I’m going to sleep now. Unlike the scheduled route It’s going across the Middle East. Baku and Ankara Messi Good night. 3 hour nap. lt felt great. The sun never sets. It’s close to midnight in London, yet the sun is rising. My circadian rhythm is confused. The terrain is… Flying over Kazahastan. K2 It’s my first time seeing it in person. So this is the Himalayas Mount Everest Is Mount Everest in this frame? Hello Answer me “You won’t get an answer back because thats the Tian Shan Mountains” “The highest peak is Jengish Chokusu at 7,439 metres (24,406 ft) high” “The Himalayas is about 1000km away.” Beautiful Kazakhstan “Not the Himalayas” There’s a city there. Tacheng. The view is being engulfed by the clouds. Clouds are looking like cotton candy. Maybe I should eat something… I’m sorry whiskey fans that my first
whiskey is this 100th year whiskey. 1000 dollars. I’m going to use it to make whiskey ice cream. It was worth a try. And my vegetable curry is here. This is the Maizawa Wagyu Beef. From my standpoint I am not a vegan nor vegetarian so I don’t
really need to eat a vegetable curry. My Wagyu curry is ccompleted. Thank you Wagyu. I’ve heard that the people of
Korea put kimchi in their curry. I was kind of surprised by that but then
I realized the Japanese do the same with pickled vegetables, There’s a rather interesting dish here, vegan sushi. You can see things like bell peppers in it. Rate it 4/10 by a non vegan. Here’s my icecream I was expecting vaniilla, I’m not sure if they will match. Here we go I like rum raisin so this should be good. As expected it is good. Flying over a mountain range in China. Flying North of the Sichuan Province that gave civilization dan dan mein. About 2 more hours to go. I think I’ll get breakfast. Ichiros malt I don’t think it has to do
anything with The Ichiro But I feel like he plays for a team Chichibu. That sounds familiar. Congrats to Ichiro for being
elected to the hall of fame Holy 50% is crazy Guys I’m scared to drink this. I’m not ready to die by 50% Alcohol, so instead of putting Ichiro’s Malt down my throat, I’m drinnking Queen of Blue oolong tea with it. A JAL First Class exclusive, the Rolls Royce of oolong tea. This is the Japanese breakfast. Nothing goes better with breakfast than grilled salmon. It’s engraved into the Japanese DNA. Good old miso soup. and good old rice. Nothing goes better with breakfast than miso soup. It’s engraved into the Japanese DNA. 50% cheers My throat is burning help. To conclude, All whiskey tastes the same! worthy of crying. I kind of want seaweed as well. Thank you for the food. You were a worthy opponent I will never forget you. I’m going to relieve my organs with some fruits wait, thats a whole food platter. Wow the size of this pineapple. Thanks for the food. It’s Korea We’re almost there On the other side is North Korea Why isn’t it focusing Is that Pyongyang Crossing the Sea of Japan. I’m going to have to change back into my regular clothes now. We’ll soon be preparing for landing. I realized there was a mirror in the closet. That little mountain. Literally the tiniest Mount Fuji you’ll ever see. I recieved a warm eye mask from the flight crew. 13 hours is way too quick for first class. BUT JAPAN YAY! I’m finally in Japan! Yay! From First Class to Rush hour trains I’m experiencing the duality of Japanese society. Now this is the Tokyo experience. Thanks for watching! Have a nice day!

Today, I’m flying JAL First Class on the A350-1000, savoring fine Japanese cuisine, rare whiskies, and the quiet luxury of a private suite above the clouds.

  1. Toilets DO NOT rotate differently in the southern and northern hemisphere (sadly) & what do you even do on instagram help

  2. 240万円片道で出せるのにトイレにある化粧水を「分からない」んだなーってなる世界線 興味関心って人それぞれだなと気付くしそこにまた性別の違いに気付く

  3. Solo San, You have to visit Poland, here we have an alcoholic drink called: "Spirit of the Wilderness", and it has 60-70% alcohol inside.

  4. I was on an AA flight last month that had seats so packed in that I had to keep my reading glasses on – everything was so close to my face, it was blurry. Seeing this palatial cabin on board made me sob copious tears.

  5. Have to leave the rest of the video for tomorrow but so far, quite impressive. The food is exquisite but even with small portions I don't know how I could possibly eat all that, especially having eaten in the lounge prior to boarding Now I know a plane trip to take if the money fairy visits me.😁 Looking forward to seeing the rest of your experience tomorrow.

  6. Thank you for taking us on your journey. Truly a wonderful experience from the looks of it. Than you for your whimsical take on these journeys.

  7. You're blasting off again?

You don't happen to own a talking cat and clothes with a large, bedazzled letter R on them, do you?

  8. I was in the business class on the A350-1000 when it rolled out late last year, can confirm it's a massive upgrade on the previous business (and first) class.

  9. Such delicate and delicious dining, the pottery used is so organic and exquisite.
Thank you for letting me share this wonderful experience – A top-class product (except the powder room!).

  10. I will say wireless charging is a must for me these days. Why? because i've had my fair share of damaged ports or sub-par charging cables. wireless can be "static" saving the flexing of wires, or damaging of the usb port.

  11. I remember when I did the Trans Mongolian Railway, our flight to Beijing literally flew over the entire railway journey pretty much and because we were flying east, you could see everything. We didn't sleep much lol.

  12. I'm always grateful to enjoy these luxury videos since I'll never be able to afford it myself lol

  13. Amazing video! At last a First Class Cabin worthy of the name, as you say, suitable for a couple. (Though not tall people!) Your gourmet meal was incredible! So many courses and different foods to eat, you have a very healthy appetite after your food in the Lounge. So many different wines, you can certainly hold your drink, I'm jealous as I'm a lightweight, after 2 glasses the room starts spinning! But Scottish Whiskey is very different. You never put ice in it and they all taste very different. 🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
