48 hours spent in Hiroshima & Miyajima | What do do, Local Food, Temples & Cafes | Japan Travel VLOG
we’re be spending the next few days exploring Hiroshima we’ll be spending the next 2 days exploring Hiroshima city and Miyajima and then go on to visit a some cute costal towns in the region! I’ll especially be using the JR Kansai–Hiroshima Area Pass which give you unlimited rides on the Sanyo Shinkansen, express trains & local JR lines across Kansai & Hiroshima this covers Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Onomichi, Hiroshima, Miyajima & more – including ferries and buses within the area it’s a really great deal if you’re planning to explore multiple cities you can use the promotions code : SOLLIFE for a discount 🙂 the ride from Osaka to Hiroshima is about 1.5 hours and we’ve arrived going to drop my luggage at the hotel first I woke up so early today I really needed some caffeine this is a tea and coffee shop deciding between matcha latte or coffee decided to go for the matcha because it’s harder to find good matcha back home from the colour I already know it will be good this was so tasty I usually have a list of places I want to go but then have to plan out how to get there it was also starting to rain a bit look how tiny these umbrellas are but Japanese umbrellas are super sturdy headed to our first stop it’s my first time visiting in Hiroshima so I’m looking forward to exploring the city this is the only structure left standing in the area after the atomic bomb and is a reminder of the devastation caused by the first atomic bomb but the park also stands as a symbol of peace and hope for the future but I guess that was the purpose to really show the horrific effects of the bomb It doesn’t quite sink in until you see it with your own eyes it’s also fun to watch them being made in-front of you Hiroshima is also famous for their oysters so I got the oyster okonomiyaki it was so crispy and fresh I forgot how good this dish is time for some shopping this is the main shopping strip good place to find some souvenirs the street is lined with so many shops this vintage clothing shop was huge I also love looking around souvenir shops lemons also seem popular in this region the cute packaging always gets me these are lemon jellies and lemon tabasco even lemon butter biscuits shaped like oyster shells how cute are these oyster plushies it was still a bit early so we’re visiting one more location this garden is only a few minutes walk from the city centre and it filled with these carp fish that you can go around and feed let’s have a walk around first the garden is so well kept it was so peaceful to walk around it was also starting to rain a little time to feed the fish the garden is actually quite big there was even a small bamboo area at the back it was starting to rain quite a bit, so I’m going to call it a day today we’re headed on a little day trip to Miyajima island which is about an hour from Hiroshima station I was really hoping the weather would clear up but doesn’t look like it it’s about a 10 min ferry ride from JR Miyajima Ferry terminal looks like it will be foggy as well but the fog kind of creates a mood of it’s own Miyajima is most famous for this giant torii gate during high tide it looks like it’s floating on the water and we’ve arrived there are also wild deer on the island they are accustomed to people but unlike Nara you’re not allowed to feed them looks like the island is covered in fog this sight is ranked as one of Japan’s three best views it’s definitely a spectacular view during low tide you can actually walk up to the gates looks like a scene from a movie let’s go try some street food this is the main shopping and food street of course I needed to try the famous oysters here they shack and grill the oysters fresh on order they also give you a bunch of sauce to try with your oysters I got the lemon squash made with the famous local lemon and the soy sauce and butter oysters this was the best lemonade I’ve ever had the oysters were also so fresh and delicious time to look around the shopping street this rilakkuma shop had some special Miyajima edition goods this one is so cute there’s also a ghibli store when I see ghibli I automatically walk in there were even oyster gacha toys I also wanted to try deep fried oysters these were actually so much better then I thought this is the main shrine that leads to the torii it is said to have been built in 593 and is one of the few shrines in Japan where wooden buildings stand on the sea the pagoda was unfortunately under construction when I visited you can get the most direct view of the gates from here time for a little pick me up these back alleys seem to be full of cafes and restaurants they look a lot less busy than the main shopping street found this cafe right by the water you can even see a bit of the shrine great place to relax and enjoy the view there’s one more temple I want to visit here it’s right at the top of the hill it’s a refreshing little hike along the river the temple is located at the base of Mount Misen and is the start to a hiking trail to the summit Daisho-in consists of a number of buildings spread out across the mountain the mist really enhances the atmosphere it feels kind of mysterious and serene at the same time along the stairway there are these spinning metal wheels that are inscribed with sutras turning them as you walks up is believed to have the same effect as reading them them temple maintain a much quiet atmosphere on the
busy island it’s such a beautiful and peaceful area at the very back of the temple grounds is the Daishi Hall the hall is lit by hundreds of golden lanterns hanging from the ceiling creating this unique golden light in the room the hall also has hundreds of small statues of sitting monks i’m still surprised this temple didn’t have many visitors it’s definitely worth a visit right at the entrance there’s another passageway that are lined with 500 of these Rakan Statues they all represent a Buddhist monk If you look closely each of them have different expressions and features I can see why Miyajima is such a popular destination it’s the perfect mix of nature and tradition the sky is finally clearing dinner is also oysters they have both grilled and raw oysters here fresh oysters with a glass of white wine this is the perfect end to the day so good! this is just the start of our travels next week we’re off to some rural towns

Beautiful
Your silent vlogs are so calming and beautifully edited! The music always fits perfectly too. Inspiring content 🙂
This brings me back! I had the privilege of visiting Hiroshima and Miyajima a few years ago and it was one of my favorite places I've been to while traveling in Japan.
But i like your korean vlogs ❤ your beautiful home and your silent vlogs
These are the videos that play on every TV in an electronics store. I love it
Wow your vlog comes out at the right time, i am preparing the itineray for Japan Trip this NOV.. and Hiroshima is in the list, and also 48 hours! Thank you so much 🥰🙏🏾
Beautiful vlog as always. I love Japan but they were not always right …and I don’t want to kind of rub it in but they fought on the wrong side of the war supporting Hitler and Nazis and after everyone had already enough they attacked Pearl Harbor….. and that was it – enough is enough…. Sad and painful true but that’s the true. I am so happy today they are a wonderful nation!!!!! And we can learn a lot from them ❤
