We Are in Hakodate
Over our time in the city, we experienced Hakodate from every angle. We began with the Hakodate Ropeway, where panoramic views set the scene. We wandered the historic Motomachi district, lined with Western-style churches and echoes of the past. The morning market brought the city’s energy to life—full of fresh seafood and local flavor. A peaceful stroll through the tropical botanical garden offered a change of pace. We ended at Goryōkaku Fort, a star-shaped fortress from the 19th century and the site of the final battle of the Boshin War.
