[Music] kyoto an ancient capital where Japanese history and culture are still alive it’s a popular tourist destination from all over the world because there are many world heritage sites and beautiful sceneries [Music] it’s a very attractive city to Japanese people as well and I am one of those people who are obsessed with it i visit Ko at least twice sometimes more every year to enjoy local foods and some healing spots in today’s video I’m sharing my favorite 11 spots which are cafe antique shops and a bar those are perfect for an adult Ko trip they’re not only delicious good quality but also you can feel the elegance and quiet of Kyoto this time I was not really in rush so I took Hikari Super Express they’re different between Nomi or in the speed the number of stops and prices i got a quite big discount because I bought them through the website smart ex i recommend you to buy Hikar Express if you don’t care about the riding time [Music] there are so many sweet spots in Kyoto but I say this is exceptional for me because of the history atmosphere and the taste [Music] it was founded in 1914 currently it’s run by the first generation a set of two kinds of ohi and matcha is recommended but this is my favorite sweet kameyama the bowl is fully packed with azuki beans [Music] the local tamba dynagon red beans is used which capitalized by glossy rich in flavor and sweet as it is [Music] each beans is plum and soft and once you put in your mouth the simple flavor of beans spread out [Music] a rice cake that has been carefully roasted on the brager is inside [Music] the rice cake is savory and soft it seems like it’s not really known by tourists yet [Music] speaking of sushi in Kyoto this is a place you should definitely visit it is now nigiri style it’s used steamed with salt or marinate with vinegar fish to increase its preservation there’s a good quality spring water bubbling out from its ground it’s now considered as a sacred water anyone can drink it the recommended menu is micro sushi but since they cannot catch any good macarel so it won’t be on the menu until November i tried raw sushi eel sushi and job sushi instead all of them there are so good the rice cooked in a kamado which is traditional Japanese cooking stove over a fire is plump and sweet the cooking meadow has been carried out the same as a 100 years ago [Music] itu is a long established macro sushi shop born in 1781 and the first generation of I isu who trend here i personally prefer isu micro sushi to isu one please try comparing the taste heading west from Gong and cross the Sanja or Hash bridge you will find many of my favorite shops [Music] naiden without a sign board next to Sanjo Ohashi has been carried daily necessities for more than 200 years all products are made of natural materials and handmade by craftsman it removes dirt well without much detergent and once you use it you won’t be able to use any other scrubbing pads the handmade items have a warm feeling [Music] gosh candy is made with the oldfashioned medal of using tensai sugar and mold syrup and cooking it at a high temperature no artificial flavors or colorings are used and the flavor of the ingredients is brought out in gentle [Music] i try usucha which is matcha candy [Music] it’s not too sweet and I can taste matcha gently the staff recommendation is candy made with seasonal fruit the small size make it easy to carry around it also got a zipper [Music] bamboo is a material that has been close to Japanese lives since ancient times this shop carries daily items and kitchen utensils with a gentle bamboo design [Music] cutlery and chopsticks are relatively affordable prices around $10 US i have some pairs of chopsticks from the shop they are lightweight and comfortably fit my hand now let’s take a coffee break i really like this cafe because of this garden view you can have the coffee either inside or outside at the garden hario is a company with manufactures and sell coffee utensils and this is it company operated coffee shop a coffee brew using stylish equipment siphon coffee is extracted at a high temperature by steam pressure it has a fragrant and mellow taste [Music] an elder lady enjoy coffee next to me suddenly look at the garden and say that look at the plum tree it’s time to harvest the plums the rainy season has come the time flows slowly here from family clothes sewing tools overwhelming range of products over three floor is attractive [Music] especially there are wide range of fabric materials and design all line up the Japanese motive design are so popular as souvenirs the Michael design is so cute they’re available starting from 30 cm long 110 cm wide the prices are depending on the design and materials tman is a type of fabric that is characterized by unique unevenness on the surface southern clothes fabric has slightly a cross pattern on the surface on the fabric if you like to buy some fabric just call the stuff wow they’re beautiful we call this kina which is one of traditional Kyoto Nishin style kimono fabrics is capitalized by the use of gold and sometimes silver threads which are woven into the fab to create raised patterns the prices are roughly 4 to 12 US 14 cm [Music] if you walk noon tamachi street your eyes will be caught by some ukio and old Japanese books this is a specialty store for Japanese books scrolls ukio and modern and contemporary prints [Music] [Music] there are some expensive works at the shop but there are some affordable ones as well [Music] you could enjoy just looking at the works so please stop by do you like antique furniture and home decors if you are you cannot miss this spot this is three floors antique shop full of Japanese and western antique items my dream you will be overwhelmed by the number of antique items such as furniture table wear and miscellaneous goods they’re perfect for souvenirs all these dishes are roughly 30 to 100 US the prices are vary depending on the ears and the quality they’re about between Edo and Shawa era you could order from your home as well as ship to your home i’d like to show you some pretty furniture what I found [Music] they’re all stunning aren’t they all the items are clean and maintained by professional craftsman so all the conditions seems like very good in 2020 the hotel Su Kyoto Shimizu was born at the properly originally Shimizu Elementary School the bar on the top floor of the hotel has two spaces of inside and outdoors 360° round rooftop with a panoramic view of the Yasaka Tower and Kyoto Tower is amazing [Music] i wanted to see the sunset but it was the rainy season so I almost gave up [Music] memories come flooding over [Music] where the sun sets it gets louder [Music] a beautiful sunset
