I tried many hotels in Japan. Here is my experience at the Apa hotel, Dormy Inn and Candeo
[Music] so welcome to my very tight compact single room which is actually what they call a semi- double i don’t really know how this is a semi double okay it’s a twin bed but to really fit two people here it would be a stretch because there will be an old place for luggage my luggage is right here in the very corner um I suppose you could fit it under the bed but everything here in Tokyo is about space is about a view so you’re going to pay a premium if you want space and if you want a view i don’t have a view here but I am paying a very reasonable $70 a night for my own room and um I have breakfast which is very good this chain the APA hotel is a very clean very good very solid I would say mid-range hotel there are differences in the APA hotels let me show you the bathroom also very compact with one of those great Japanese toilets um good amenities one of those sort of pre-built bathtubs and this is it there’s also a fridge which is very good a big TV with all the instructions that you need for Wi-Fi some video on demand um I think it’s a very solid place to stay especially for being right here in Asakuza which is a neighborhood that I like it’s more traditional no skyscrapers um I mean there are a few the the skytree is on the other side of the Sumida River um but I really like because I get a sense of how the Japanese live in this area and um I I also really really like what’s upstairs the onsen there’s no filming allowed i will see if I can post a few pictures but I’m not sure about that so to me Japanese hotels is all about the sensorial experience of an onsan of being in a neighborhood that you feel comfortable there are very good subway connections here so I think I made a good choice you might hate the lack of space uh but that forces you to be outside in Tokyo which is a vibrant city one of my favorite cities in the world so I am happy with my choice so this is it the APA Hotel in Asakuza [Music] oh [Music] [Music] hey forever [Music] [Music] you [Music] better [Music] [Music] so here’s another chain hotel this one is called the Dormy Inn i’ve stayed in several dormi ins throughout Japan this one here is in Nagasaki and let me show you what the room is like first of all they leave you this here which is your laundry it’s new to uh I think new slippers the cool thing about dormy in that I absolutely love is this partition door right here which gives you so much privacy and quiet for sleeping look it’s just wonderful one simple little thing that divides this mini hallway from the bedroom which is not bad i am here by myself but I think it’s one of the few chain hotels where you could comfortably fit two people comfortably for Japanese standards because everything is tight you pay for your space and what you get tv fridge kettle mini desk a sweet little corner for having a meal there are microwaves on the top floor take a look a separate wash with a shower compact but super clean the amenities are always super nice and what is very cool is that you get one of those lovely Japanese toilets with all their super duper clean amenities for washing whatever part you need after you do number one or number two this is also a lovely touch which is not a kimono but loungewear to stay in your room or to go up to the onsen dormy ins are famous for their in-house onsen which unfortunately cameras are not allowed but I’m going to try to ask for permission to try to show you and hopefully I will be granted a few minutes just to show you what it’s like because it’s such a wonderful experience apa hotels also do have onsense the Toyoko in normally no because they’re more of a budget chain and there are a few other chains that do have onsense like Kando Silken so enjoy Japan and remember what you’re paying for here is space quiet comfort cleanliness everything is spectacularly clean so tell me which one is your favorite chain apa Toyoko in or this one here that I just showed you Dormy in i have my favorites but I will refrain from saying what my favorite is because I want to hear from you let me know [Music] where are you [Music] doo doo doo doo doo [Music] [Music] wherever you [Music] hold [Music] forever [Music] where [Music] do you [Music] baby [Music] well I’m just entering my room i’m really bundled up cuz it’s very cold out but I wanted to show you this other surprise hotel called the Candio Hotel another chain hotel here in Japan very compact but with more space take a look this is a twin room it was what they had available it was still under $100 a night and I find it very very spacious there is even a view towards Tenin there’s a mini sofa there is a fridge uh something to heat up tea a humidifier uh desk and a lot of floor space where I get to do yoga and the bathroom is just like bathrooms here in hotels in Japan it’s a sort of prefab mold but with very good amenities and of course lovely Japanese toilet with all those settings to make you nice happy and clean so this is my room at the Candyo Hotel what’s lovely here is this spot on the top floor if I get permission to show you I’ll get to show you but I’m not so sure that’s going to happen so maybe I will post a photo here just for you to see what it’s like it is beautiful on the top floor with an indoor section and an outdoor section my face is still frozen from the outside but this is it hope you have enjoyed it this is my tour of hotels here in Japan i love hotels in Japan even if they’re really tiny because everything is super clean breakfast which I would definitely recommend you get always includes something interesting something new to try some fishy things some green teaish thing so try it be adventurous be here in Japan and enjoy every lovely thing that Japan has to offer because everything is pure clean and fresh food here is so so fresh so I love Japan i hope you get to see it someday if you haven’t and if you do have seen Japan if you’ve been here tell me what do you love about Japan i love almost everything about it except one thing the waste it’s one of the countries that produces the most waste alongside with the US and Germany it they’re still used to a lot of wrapping uh we buy those lovely bento boxes at family marts and 7-Elevens but they come in plastic with more plastic with more bags and it seems to be a hard thing to ingrain in the culture to be getting rid of all this wrapping all this plastic but despite that it’s still it’s a wonderful place to be love Japan [Music] you better [Music] [Music]
I have traveled to Japan a few times in this life and it is always a pleasure to return to this amazing country. Hotels in Japan can be quite a unique experience and I wanted to share in this video what it is like to stay at some of the hotel chains I have been to while traveling throughout Japan. First I will show you what it is like to stay at the APA hotel in Tokyo near Asakusa. Apa is a large hotel chain and they usually have an in house Onsen, or Japanese bath. The second hotel is the Dormy Inn Premium in Nagasaki, which also is a large hotel chain with in house Onsen. The Third hotel chain I will show you is the upscale Candeo Hotel in Fukuoka. Let me know your thoughts, which one is your favorite of the three and if you have Japanese hotel experiences to share!

Gus the intrepid traveller! : )
Most content creators want to feature super deluxe hotels because people will click, but this is genuinely very useful information for anyone planning a trip. Your enthusiasm is great!
O Japão é mágico!!!!!!
Even if you aren’t a traveler this is a great channel. Highest recommendation.
