Mototaki Fukuryusui(Subterranean river), located in Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture Japan, is a tourist attraction with abundant nature that has been selected as one of the 100 best waters of Heisei and Mt. Chokaisan Tobishima Geopark.
Although it is a small waterfall with a height of 5m and a width of about 30m, you can feel the fantastic charm of the scenery where water flows through the gaps in the dark green rock surface covered with moss and trees.
You can receive the healing effect of the sound of the waterfall in a calm atmosphere like a scene of “Princess Mononoke”.
Mototaki Fukuryusui is a waterfall where rainwater that has soaked into Mt. Chokai (also known as Dewa Fuji) that rises along the coast of the Sea of Japan in the Tohoku region has been flowing down from the rock surface to the Mototaki River over a long period of time.

秋田県にかほ市にある元滝伏流水(もとたきふくりゅうすい)は、鳥海山･飛島ジオパークや平成の名水百選にも選ばれている自然豊かな風景が美しい観光名所です。
高さ5m、幅約30mの小さな滝ですが、苔や木々に覆われた深緑の岩肌の隙間から水が流れ出る風景からは幻想的な魅力も感じられ、まるで「もののけ姫」のワンシーンのような穏やかな雰囲気の中で滝の音の癒し効果を受け取れます。
元滝伏流水は、東北地方の日本海沿岸にそびえ立つ鳥海山(別名:出羽富士)に染み込んだ雨水が長い歳月をかけて岩肌から元滝川に流れ落ちている滝で、奈曽川と合流してやがて日本海へと流れ出ます。
