3 Days in Tokyo Challenge! Japanese Vlog Food Tour

the next station is Shinjuku [Music] we are back in Tokyo but this time we’re only here for 72 hours so of course we are determined to make the most of our limited time here we’re going to try and do everything that we didn’t do the last time we were in Japan the only catch is we have to cram everything into just 3 days we’ll take you along with us as we go on some crazy new adventures first up we’re trying our hand at riding the bus and let me just let you guys know already we got lost what’s a trip without dressing up in a costume and riding through the streets of Shabuya because why come to Tokyo if you’re not going to ride through the streets of Shabuya in a Mario Kart and of course we had to check out Team Lab because we wanted to find out what all the hype was about and we actually like it we actually like it but I’ll tell you about that a little bit later we can’t forget about our super unique experience in the itchy ramen although it was simple it was really cool and definitely a 10 out of 10 recommend so tonight we’re going to explore the narrow alleys of Shinjuku we’ll try to squeeze into some of those tiny spots that make this city so vibrant will also get used to the portion sizes which are definitely not generous it was in like this bowl child it was three pieces three pieces three different bitty pieces finally we found a place that truly passed the vibe check [Music] oh thank you thank you thank you so I’m absolutely loving the vibes of your sleep it was a hidden gem and we’ll share all these experiences with you stay tuned and find out what happens next so this alley I showed you the name of it i don’t I I don’t know how to pronounce it but it’s it clearly it’s one of the famous spots everyone comes to and it’s like a bunch of little food restaurants so this alley is so nostalgic right because it definitely looks like old Tokyo the Tokyo that you would see in the movies the little bitty alleys with the uh the lanterns that are lit up so cool so I guess what we’re going to do is uh probably go and stop at the first place that we were um headed to and see what they have to offer it look like skewers or something like that i think a lot of it is actually skewers like I see like a lot a lot of it is definitely grilling now what I want to do though is I want to find a place to get me some sushi hopefully that’s there but this looks more like a grilling yeah I don’t think it’s here but we’ll just get something to eat real quick and then we’ll um we’ll go and find something else now although it looks a little crowded tonight there is way less people here now than it was uh last night thank you excuse me thank you little tight in here huh it’s a It’s a little but it’s okay okay so we just found us a little spot it smells really good in here y’all teeny tiny so what I realized is that a lot of the places here and and this is the reason I’m assuming that this is the reason why it’s so busy all the time everywhere because a lot of places here only have like eight tables 12 tables thank you i must say that there’s a lot more people walking through the alley than actually sitting down and eating i don’t know if maybe they just I think they just want to pass through and see what it’s what they have definitely getting a high ball he is on these high balls so high balls right they’re like vodka and soda or or a whiskey and a soda and I tell you what for like what $3 is that $3 well that’s like $450 for $4 you get a high ball and I tell you they strong uh no plum another one same one so two yeah yeah two thank you okay so we ordered two skewers um I think we got two beef skewers and two high balls oh and also a Yeah I can’t wait to see you know what else is going on what is that yellow stuff down there i didn’t I didn’t see it on here it looks like I plate again here anyway here comes our high balls thank you Our skewers came out and that’s but I’ll tell you pretty good the high ball um it wasn’t as strong as I thought that it would be cuz like a couple since we’ve been here been a little bit stronger so I don’t know but we still have a long night got a lot of food to eat and um yeah we’re going to go see what restaurant is not to pack so that we can get in on our way out excuse us this is how we got to get out of here super tight and then [Music] this is so tight this is so tight got that’s how thin it was but take a look cuz this is how thick it is all right which way that way yeah i just This is the only gap I found okay guys this is how crowded it is here so that’s where we were and just that quick it it it is definitely uh it uh has thickened up but Charlie itchy round was less than that it’s cuz you it’s the tourist thing all of it touristy should we even be coming back here i don’t want to see her raton i mean you don’t want to see one i mean I know they have them but I don’t want to see them see sushi i see huh is it that is sushi okay you got to find a sushi one then i have been trying to find sushi since I have been here and I think I found it y’all look at Oh yeah they got it for sure there’s more on the outside ones than the inside look at this one maybe look at these lines guys these are lines to get into these places they They do look long but sometimes they move quick cuz everyone’s just eating noodles and rolling out they’re really not just hanging around holding having conversations like that so it’s called the uh I know I go it’s called the Oio hope I’m pronouncing that correctly all right guys looks like we found sushi we’re going to see uh if we can uh if it’s worth getting here because there’s some other spots we also want to hit we do but I just want to I want to have some sushi quickly okay well this is the sushi one right right it is yeah I see it okay i’m going to say these are bamboo i don’t know what this is look like mushrooms mushrooms i don’t really eat mushrooms yeah I don’t eat mushrooms t likes mushrooms i’m going to try them cuz why not okay wow so the place that we’re sitting in right it’s like they waste no space because this is literally a alley and they have tables set up outside of the alley i mean like if I look across and see uh critter this is where they take I’m just saying that this is where they take like trash out but it’s like right on the side of the train because you can hear the train passing and there’s people walking so if you’re like a people watching person this is definitely the place to be so I ordered some grilled eel which is not the sushi like the sushimi that I wanted but I’m sure I’ll find it somewhere else and we’re we’re uh Thank you and we’re um we plan on going to more places so you know is Thailand and see how this high balls work these high balls so what are you toasting we’re going to toast to finding sushi after this meal and go into this other area that we found so another good night and they supposed to put it down first and then you’re supposed to they’re looking at us and we’re looking at them and everybody’s looking at each other and he’s actually this is a tour guy that just came through cuz he was holding the flag up front i don’t know if you can hear the train coming through so mushrooms almost have like a beef texture for you guys that’s why a lot of um vegetarians eat them because it’s kind of like a meat a meat consistency it’s very tough like a meat you know okay so I guess we’ll wait for our um our eel to get here and then I’ll show you guys how it looks [Music] so guys in case you didn’t know cuz we didn’t know we found out earlier actually for lunch but it seems like it’s a trending thing over here there’s actually like a table fee and I thought you don’t get a table fee if you order a drink but we ordered a drink so I don’t know if we’re going to get hit with this table fee when it comes out i don’t know because that’s weird like they don’t do that at my restaurant they don’t cuz your your restaurant isn’t the uh isn’t the uh touristy spot it’s kind of like just you know the middle of nowhere it’s about to rain on that way it is about to rain uh I didn’t I didn’t see rain in the Was that my eel the eel eel eel what’s that what is that uh tomato fish and cucumber okay okay so he brought something out which I hope I don’t know what it is i can’t beat the eel it’s so tiny it’s so tiny like it’s it’s very tiny um hold let me show you guys the eel that just came out i’m assuming this is the eel y’all that better not be the eel that’s so tiny this is the eel guys it was small like the eel was super small it was only three pieces but there were three good pieces however they were little they were They were little now if we would have had more then I could have you know told you a little bit more about the taste and the texture and stuff but yeah it went out so fast child um so it started to drizzle and they kind of scooted us out the way we didn’t show you the meals because it was kind of raining and we didn’t want our stuff to get wet but now they put the wall up we’ll show you guys what the wall looks like so they put this shield up guys so now we’re protected from the rain so we’re going to take it to the sushi spot afterwards cuz I’ve been trying to get the sushi it’s not going to be in this little area it’s going to be I think at like uh down the hall down the street around the corner i mean because who comes to Japan and does not have sushi right you know what we haven’t had yet and we want to we’re going to probably save this for like uh I’m full of I get one more and then we and then we can call for the ticket all right guys so we just finished up i’ll show you what the little alleyway looks like before we go get some sushi this is actually the spot that we ate at right there we were just at that table we met some new Korean friends all right guys so this is where we just ate at guys so this is what it looks on the inside oh there’s smoke in here you can smoke things here [Music] this is basically what it looks like up in here this is one of the biggest ones so this is not one this is not the Shabuya crossing we’re going to but this is the crossings basically very massive there goes the train this my loves is Tokyo this sucker is crowded is Guys we finally found it sakuri sushi it’s been drizzling but we found it hey hey [Music] now I get some hands for you is it down [Music] oh thank you thank you oh awesome thank you oh here oh yeah we have to thank you oh so I’m absolutely loving the vibes obviously they’re so nice in here okay got me some green tea and some hot water green tea anyone so we are at Sakura Sushi and it’s a little conveyor belt sushi yeah so we trying to figure out like what it is because it’s conveyor belt so we’re trying to figure out what it is one is so much to choose from look at this one oh this is recommended oh look at that that’s for you that’s a big That’s a big shrimp i should I’m going to get a high ball you should get a plum wine so just grab the sushi that’s on the conveyor belt oh okay everything looks so good y’all i’m serious everything looks so good take a look he said “Oh like Oh.” Oh look at that one he just put Is that like blue fin so I have no clue what this is but I’mma eat it let me grab this one this one that one right here mhm yeah you should that does look pretty good we We figured something out okay okay okay so you get charged by the color of your plate yeah so I have a green plate right and this green plate is 1,200 yen and I have a yellow golden plate which is 550 that’s how they know what the charge is okay all right okay all right we started off a little high we can come down a little bit but you know it’s our first time that pump saki looks good so I got to give another toast to we we found the sushi we found sushi so it’s been it’s going better toast to sushi and even a better night to whatever else we find okay I’ll I’ll try no yours right here okay so you don’t think that I know that this is empty what happened i just emptied this one oh I took it it fell it’s on your lap it’s on my lap child i empt it myself i’m not drinking no more how about that low ball from here on out let me show y’all what uh what this one looks like i don’t know what it is though but I’m going to show y’all really good this is what I made it the one I had excellent was it just one i had two little uh things on my yellow plate [Music] so fresh so fresh i tell you what Japan don’t owe me no no sushi no high balls you know what to do right that’s the one you got to get right [Music] was that it’s just rolling by and we just grabbed so not only is there a conveyor belt but there’s also a a menu that you can choose from because I just saw something that I didn’t see on the conveyor belt but when I tell you that that blue fin tuna the bomb.com and so when we order it from the menu instead of the conveyor belt it comes out fresh like they actually cut the fish up and they make it like in front of your face i’ll tell you what all these all these are nice there you go again oh look at this the marinated uh This is marinated tuna oh there’s another one coming oh this one is the chopped salmon just picked it out for you what are you looking for now anything that’s just This is the one I want i got to get this one i know he keeps going by you can so we’re going to eat this sushi and we’re going to hit you guys right back i’m so happy we found it oh he found it what’s up guys so we we killed it i’m going to show you all our plates so they charge you by the plates and every plate is different yeah so they don’t just charge you by the plates like they charge you by the color of the plates because at first we were trying to figure out like how are they going to even know what we had but the plates are different colors and they’re different prices for those different colors uh the cheapest plate we saw was I think was $79.99 and the most expensive plate was uh $6 to $8 like $8 and you get about two two sushi I guess or I don’t know what to call them two little meals and it’s great it’s crowded like we we clearly we beat the crowd cuz everyone’s like lined up behind us that one looks good this this this big looking thing right here i’m about to find me a brown plate oh look that’s a brown plate no that’s not brown a brown plate i haven’t seen one one of these so they got like a I haven’t seen a wooden plate so the wooden plate is like the 99 cent one but I see they ain’t pumping out the 99 cent plates they not what they are pumping out though is that blue fish tuna i mean that blue fin tuna child and I understand why oh you didn’t eat this one i’m tell you took it oh sushi in Japan it’s different from sushi in America to me i mean it’s just different it tastes fresher the rice is fresher and the fact that we’re in Japan just Yeah the energy just makes it different right cuz they’re like really they like they’re like yelling and they’re having fun with their sushi and I think you most sushi places in America are just like “Here’s sushi.” And they eat it and go eat it and go right here they’re like they’re cutting their punches they’re happy they’re everything they’re like really like into it but I love that for them i love that for us that we get to experience it though not only is there sushi but there’s also uh oranges and strawberries going by i’m full i’m looking like I need something else and I actually have like a uh salmon roll like right in front of me that’s so nice let’s see what you’re going to say hey hey there we go yay he did it i got him to do the yay for us that was cool they’re like really happy here i like that i like that that you know this man has like that energy yeah he’s up in age but he has energy like he’s young and it’s like 10 11:00 at night and he’s happy you know he’s really like child we got a It’s 9:00 it’s 9:00 but I’m trying to figure out like what time was the last subway i think they run at midnight so we’re probably going to wrap this up cuz we want to hit this this this one more spot i think it’s called like the red light district uh there’s like a couple of bars there and then we’ll probably you know head back in and uh and wrap and I guess wrap this up for you guys hope you know okay so I’m going to eat my last piece of sushi y’all and I’ll see y’all in a few deuces good okay no no no let’s do this okay so guys all this came out to like 5,000 yen 5,100 5,100 yen to be exact okay thank you thank you thank you this is what the place looks like thank you thank you okay okay okay [Music] just got to make sure that I still have my mic on this place when I tell you guys that this has been the best night that we’ve had in Japan it has definitely been the best night and these people uh yeah they definitely made it happen i was looking for my sushi we were supposed to get sushi in Genza today on a conveyor belt but I don’t think it would have been as good as this cuz this was really good and it wasn’t just the sushi but it was the atmosphere so had a good time off to the next let’s see i’m about to pull it right now you say you on my phone okay so that was good bellies are full bladders are empty now we’re going to uh our next spot let’s see let’s see who knows what that’s going to be child this is um this way this way this way red light this way no I’m just kidding me too okay this way okay go straight for like two blocks so So how are the casinos there is the blackjack in our favor like I don’t know some packed y’all this is New York City we have to go [Music] so we are in Shangjuki and we have found Look at that guy do you see him godzilla i heard that you can go to the top [Music] all right all right so I guess he just This is the beginning of the red light district but we just Oh no this is the bar district michael oh my god all right so I have a drink and then we’re out oh we really having a drink said it was the uh Shabushu drinking something bar district or something i’m about to pull it around the red light district it’s had a name shabushu or something shabuki sanjuki no it was like a It had another name all right guys so we found this place this whole little uh area it’s like in the within the red light district they’re scared to go in because this is nothing but bars really because if you basically take two blocks down the road not even two blocks but around the corner it’s basically strip clubs all right guys so we’re like in the bar red light district um trying to have a drink to at least say we had a drink at the red light district and they’re all crowded they seem to char they seem to have a cover charge but they do have a lot of them that have signs out front that say no cover charge later said much greenos so this I guess would be the seediest part of town guys what’s up with him he’s empty smell like cigarettes smell like cigarettes yeah and I don’t want to i do not want to smell like cigarettes they going to sleep there’s like four people what about in here last order cover charger,000 per Japanese we didn’t come down this one huh no here thank you thank you us thank you so we finally found our uh we found like a good spot no cover charge west the crowd is US UK for West Australia Australia we have Japan hello so this is the place we’re in guys and uh two sakis two saki we’re here so we’re going to give a toast to the last drink of the night it’s been a good night oh got to put it down thank you i try to be and different i like to be different you know i don’t like to look like everyone else yeah yes mission accomplished right [Music]
