Lake Shikotsu, Hokkaido – Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Besso Ao No Za (しこつ湖 鶴雅別荘 碧の座) property tour

so we are in Hokkaido the northern prefixure of Japan and the second largest island after the main island of Ponchu and um in Hokkaido it’s about 45 minutes from uh Saporro Chitos airport um and it’s a lake called Lake Shikotu it’s a a popular um area to do you know kaying and hiking and just water sports and just relaxing there’s also a onsen a hot springs uh area around here and this is one of the uh newly built um Japanese ins called Lake Shikotu Suruka Besso AOA this is their logo and you walk in like this um it newly opened in 200 I believe 23 or 24 so Oh oh so it’s 2018 in May so actually it’s it’s about seven eight years but it looks extremely stylish we have stayed at another one of the Tug Suruga Group hotels um luxury ones called um Akan Suruka Sohin Noa and so anyways this is uh our second one that we’re staying in it’s a company known for uh properties in Hokkaido so just showing you kind of the common area this is uh another little lounge nook and cranny you can see it’s extremely stylish um this is where we are checking in and then you come around over here is a bar area with an impressive selection of various beverages um Hokkaido is known as a harsh place historically for humans to habitate in it’s known for some uh unique wildlife as well as owls there’s a lot of wood carving art um and so there’s some exhibits of various tools and artwork um of the people from the people here that uh kind of showcases the way of life in this uh island uh the Inus were the um local indigenous population and some of the uh um culture still sort of stays intact and this is uh some art of the the locals and uh hey [Music] another look at this uh inner courtyard area and uh so you come around this way you can see all the way up big wood pillars all the way to the top see all the way around and this is where we came from and so you come turn around elevator to the upper floors where some of the rooms are and I believe our room is here too and another lounge area um a library as well as a gift shop oh very nice so think of the Inu as like uh Inu Inuit people or First Nations in Canada or uh I guess what they call the Native Americans but the Eskimos in Alaska and and there’s indigenous people in Greenland and and various parts of u especially the polar areas of the world but this is um kind of an exhibit plus a gift shop wow there’s some some of the uh traditional garb and I believe this is for sure an Inu um apparel so you can just chill out here check-in time here is a generous 2 p.m often it’s 3 p.m in various places but as a default they allow people to get here early check out still the standard 11 a.m so you can spend a pretty a fair amount of good time um I think uh 2:00 is good because especially in the the winter months uh it’s going to get darker earlier here so to kind of enjoy the scenery uh you should be a we should be able to see Lake Akan from um from our room so to kind of enjoy the scenery when it’s not completely dark uh they probably allow people to get in a little bit earlier so some more traditional Inu artwork in uh inspired um items and so anyways this is a a tatami flora room again when you walk in uh shoes come off and uh yeah it’s um that’s just the way it is to for hygienic purposes as well as not to damage um a lot of these tatami or woven straw mats so we’ll go back where we came from 25 rooms so uh so on the from the second to the fourth floor is where they have the guest rooms and there’s a total of 25 rooms here so a little bit larger than kind of family-owned um Japanese ins but that’s partly has to do with um the fact that it’s a large company or it’s not a family well might be a family-owned company but it’s it’s not a mom and pop affair here so anyways uh this is the common area we’re probably missing some other areas okay hi ah so what he’s saying is that um the baths here are all in the room okay so all 25 rooms have their own private bath if you want to be in a larger bath there’s a place a sister property which is a larger property probably less luxurious but um you can use the uh public baths there so um Okay i hope you enjoyed
