I Finally Took the Bus to Okinawa World… and It Was Totally Worth It!
again and look it’s a beautiful day today hey guys so you know you know I told you on my last Okinawan video that I wanted to come back here with Satoshi well guess what i’m back here with Satoshi you know because I I had to I had to learn how to take a bus and that’s exactly what we’re going to be doing today we’re going to be taking a bus to Okinawa World i’m a little bit nervous you guys know that I have anxiety uh we’ll see did you see him pop in anyway so first thing we have to do is we’re going to walk to the bus stop and then Satoshi has to buy his Okika card for the bus i have mine already since I didn’t get to use mine the last time this is where I boarded the bus to the other direction do you remember it’s opposite side oh this goes the other way oh gosh okay and then um from that place from that side but I didn’t know I had to go on that side my Google map said here so anyway we’re going to take the bus to a place called Okinawa World we’ve been there once but just for a tiny little bit we went like almost during closing time and so I thought uh we go there again and uh it is a beautiful day it’s been raining for most of the time we were here um so we thought we’d take advantage of this day yeah it’s the first day it’s the first day that the sun is out during our trip so we just left Kokai which is right over there our hotel is there and we have to walk one station that way towards the bus stop uh we can take the train but it’s really within walking distance you see that yellow uh no no that’s Yeah yeah yeah the yellow building over there that’s the bus terminal we’re across the street here by the way this lovely building here is city hall look at this beautiful tree here i know I talk about uh the plants in Okinawa a lot yeah orchid yeah there’s orchid hanging from the tree i think they Yeah they have purposely planted them there it’s very very tropical this is the shisa the lion the guardian you have one on each side and one has its mouth closed one has the mouth open so we’ve been filming uh we already filmed three videos here in Okinawa for you guys for the Tabi Eats channel so this is my first video on Shini’s World let’s see if I can make another one while we are here we’ll see though we only have a couple of days left but um today I wanted to take you guys along with me because uh well we’ll see i I’m sure we can get there i’m pretty sure i mean people have done it before us so I’m sure we’ll get to Okinaw World i’m going to leave it up to him i will pay attention i will pay attention and the other thing is that I always feel a little bit better when I’m vlogging when I have when I’m a little bit anxious and I’m pretty anxious today about this bus ride last night when we decided to do this I literally could not sleep i had like 5 hours of sleep last night talking about Shisa see here’s another Shisa statue in front of this uh actually it’s an apartment building and here we are at the bus terminal and now we just have to look for the correct bus stop and of course to buy this guy his Okika card which is Okinawa Suika so this is the Nahab bus terminal floor map and these are the this is the the gate and the destinations it’s written in Japanese and English how is it do you know where to go number nine you have to buy the ticket not the ticket so here are the buses you see look look at all these uh different bus skates it’s a It’s a humongous bus terminal yes if I was here alone I’d be having major anxiety problems so Satoshi is buying his Kika card right now at the bus office man there’s a there’s some tourists here buying tickets as well okay so we got the Okika ticket and we go to gate number nine you see so tourists do use the bus here uh there’s like a a couple from Taiwan I think uh right next to us uh buying uh the Okika cards as well so if they can do it I should be able to do it although this is kind of cheating for me right because it’s mostly Satoshi doing this today and don’t worry guys uh there are restrooms that you can use here on the first floor um there’s also like a mini mall on the second floor of this particular building so So if you need like a Starbucks I think they have a Starbucks here or a drink or like a little snack there’s Family Mart yeah so um there’s everything you need for a comfortable bus ride I guess this is boarding gate number one there’s 11 here there are buses a long time ago we stayed at a hotel here that one over there and I guess this place would be great if you’re going to um take the bus a lot like long distance buses but as you’ve noticed it’s a little bit far from uh Kai wow oh this bus is going to KA wow okay and this is Family Mart here i already have a drink so I don’t need that’s going to convention center and blue seal this is the second floor where you have uh shops the mini mall I was talking about so super convenient this is the Starbucks oh but the mall opens at 10:00 so we’re not able to go in there i didn’t know that there was a Okinaw tourist information center here there’s also toilets here too oh very convenient oh okay we found number nine uh this is our bus stop this is what the Okika card looks like this is like the Suika in Okinawa let me tell you what goes through my mind as I wait for the bus uh the bus should be here like in a couple of minutes and we’re going to board the bus this is going to be like a little over an hour bus ride um yeah in my mind I I I start to get worried i don’t know exactly what I’m worried about i guess maybe I’m worried that I’m going to get a panic attack but uh what I’ve done is I took my chill pill so I did take a little piece of meds that I get from my uh doctor to help me with to help me calm down and I have water with me which I always need and I also have some um mints that also help me as well i also have a tiny little bottle of aroma therapy oil essential oil that relaxes me so that’s what I do but I’m just thinking to myself I’m not really thinking i just feel really anxious at the moment okay our bus has arrived here we go [Music] all right we have boarded the bus so crossing our fingers that we’re on the correct bus i’m pretty sure we are because most of people on this particular bus are tourists i say like 95% so crossing my [Music] fingers guys we have made it we have arrived safely in one piece it only took 15 minutes not quite an hour so that was good and what I’ve learned is that this particular bus takes you directly to this place this is the last stop so we didn’t have to worry about like where to get off and stuff so this is amazing i learned something new thank you Satisan thank you thank you here we are Okinawa World so like I mentioned the last time we were here we only had about an hour and then we had to leave so I’m really happy to be here today and look it’s such a beautiful day i can’t believe it welcome to Okinawa World here’s the entrance let’s pay and go inside i prefer foods so admission is 2,000 yen for adults 1,000 yen for children so quite reasonable so the first thing we’re going to do is we’re going to go through the cave uh we did show you a little bit of the cave the last time on the Tabby Eats video cave entrance that’s the first thing and I remember last time I was kind of anxious but it wasn’t too bad so we’re going to the cave it’s called Yokendo okay you guys ready we’re inside the cave now it’s a little bit slippery so be careful it’s already wet here we’re going deep underground so this is a natural cave there are actually many caves here in Okinawa uh this is uh the the first one the first and only one we went to there’s another longer one but I don’t think we’ll be doing that today one cave is is enough for a [Music] day wow look at that check it out oh okay it became dark all of a sudden it’s amazing yeah check out the stallike tites and stalagmmites wow suchi likes that word stalike tites and stalagmites he likes to say that it’s a new word that he just learned right ah look at look how big the cave is the ceiling is very high this almost looks like it’s man-made to me miracle of nature yeah it looks like bamboo shoots so skeletons wow do you guys like caves do you find them fascinating i remember once I went into a cave and there was a bat hanging from the ceiling right above my head [Music] and there’s a pool of water here oh which one yeah now it takes approximately 30 minutes to get through the cave so when I first heard about that that kind of freaked me out you know I am claustrophobic it does get a bit more claustrophobic as we go in it’s not too bad though not too bad look at this i love this area this reminds of Wisteria Flowers wow that is beautiful let’s get in there so once again guys wear proper shoes non-slip shoes preferable cuz it is wet in here see this part of the ceiling is a bit lower now so So if you’re tall you kind of have to watch your head look at my friend Beno from uh the Netherlands come here he definitely have to watch his head here and there’s a water dripping from the ceiling as well it’s a little bit darker in here too you have this uh traditional Okinawan structure here inside the the cave here’s a closeup of one of the stagite stagite right stelike stactite stagite i think it’s interesting how like each area has own character like this is very white i don’t know if you can see it it’s very white yeah so once again we’re in a a area with a low ceilings here there’s actually like a like a river thing running through here it says like be careful of your head very nice it’s amazing to me that nature built this wow what do you guys think are you guys enjoying this i hope so don’t worry I won’t film the whole 30 minute walk we have some other things to do here at Okinawa World today wow here’s another fantastic area [Music] oh we can hear water now is there a waterfall very narrow here oh there is a waterfall here it’s a natural waterfall oh that is so beautiful [Music] all right so the next section right after the cave uh is this uh fruit section like a fruit orchard i I think this is the fruit that we ate in our asai bowl the other day uh yeah I I don’t know what it’s called in English oh this is a starf fruit the starf fruit tree all the fruits have been picked though so you don’t really see them on the tree banana trees look look there’s some bananas here uh the local banana here is called apple banana i think we had apple bananas in Hawaii as well and yeah the banana flower really you can tell can you tell that Si loves looking at plants i think it’s not does it smell good oh yes smells amazing this is the shikasa plant yeah this is already gone too this is the indigenous citrus plant of Okinawa we’re walking through the Okinawan village now to the restaurant for lunch we’re hungry it’s lunch time okay I’m going to eat here at this restaurant let’s go inside Okino and Soba yeah and this is what the menu looks like yeah let’s do this so this is a theme park restaurant after all it’s kind of like a cafeteria food is pretty standard here you got tonkatu katon curry rice kendon sati got the yushi dfu kesoku 1550 yen and I got uh this one I got the soba and then Satoshi got the giraffe beer IPA the IPA this one I ordered beer draft beer of course and I ordered uh what did I order Yu set is a local Okinawa to dish and ordered Okinawa so my beer is here this is IPA in this park there is a brewery named Sango Sango beer okinawang beer they are using Sango water what does Sango water mean so here is a cave so and the water came from the underground uh 100 m underground so it it’s go through to the what should I say so pure water pure underground water so it’s like a sango sang water cheers you know this one has not only the IPA bitterness the balance of the umami and the bitterness and the slight sourness has a very good combination would you give this A B C D F which is a better a A is better okay uh I give A a really wow sorry so this is what I got i got the Okinawa soba set so this is the Okinawan soba with the Okinawan style kamabokco fishcake you got the pork belly here and the noodles this is jui which is like a a rice with various ingredients uh this is green onions and red ginger that’s for the soba and this is a vinegar papaya that’s pickled vegetables and that’s wabi mochi look my grand set this is Yushido set yushidos is here i will show you later so this one it’s only 1,550 yen quite reasonable or another one it’s cheap yes and it comes with rice temper what’s five four or five kinds of ingredients with salt and it’s wabi I think and pickled the vegetables and these are condiments uh port tofu green onion and miso so here is the main dish of this set tada this is tofu is a not farmed to nut formed tofu just put nigari it’s a magnesium into the soy milk and it become like this it’s Okinawa’s traditional tofu so they say first put this green onion inside of this tofu and enjoy the tofu flavor as it is okay like this i love green onion and this is this place the yidfu is a little bit firmer than other place other place it’s like a crumb crumbles good soybean taste that’s a good point of tofu and the soup is also what I say it’s lightly seasoned with dash and salt it’s very gentle taste m good and this is miso i think it’s okina miso maybe it’s sweet okay take tofu and dump into this miso like this has a strong taste i don’t know miso has a strong taste no no so this one is into this soup really oh like this and it become like miso soup yeah yeah yeah it’s like become like miso soup but it’s still gentle so this is a papo yam potato papu sweet potato m yeah temper butter is very crispy and yeah yam has a slight sweetness good sweetness local vegetable I don’t know the name I saw at the supermarket [Music] yesterday kind of like some kind of herb looks like the Asian Asian basil leaf but it’s not different the tempura looked amazing but anyway I’m in the mood for soba today so let’s dig in so green onions and I love my uh pickled red ginger so let’s dump that in right first thing I’ll take a sip of the soup here [Music] i love I love love love Okinawan uh sobba soup it really reminds me of Simon back in Hawaii okay so this is the noodles uh these are um not too wavy delicious one of my favorite parts of Okinawan noodles is the this uh pork belly it’s so tender that’s so delicious finally my juicy my okinowan rice there’s a whole bunch of ingredients here in here but what makes the Okinaw dish different from the mainland is that they also add [Music] pork has so much flavor but at the same time really comforting i’m very curious about the the vinegared papaya m did you try the vinegar papaya oh oh you don’t have it you want to try a little bit it’s really good it’s It’s kind of sour here in Okinawa I noticed that they use a lot of green papaya for cooking [Music] so we just watched the Asa show which is like a traditional Okinawan dance and it was amazing thing it was 30 minutes long so it was pretty long uh got to see lots of dancing and singing and really really enjoyed it but we couldn’t film no filming allow so there is an Okinawa culture center over there and then there is some craft places you can do like weaving um this is like an like a replica of an old Okinawa village and this tree these two trees are the centerpieces let’s go take a look around let’s walk around this area here so these are old traditional Okinawan homes uh but here you can you can do like a weaving on on this side you can do another traditional Okinawan craft i love this cuz it really feels like you’re walking through an Okinawan village in the olden days wonder if this is a plumeriia tree let’s see if I can find ghetto my favorite uh my favorite okan plant look at this a t-shirt shop i think you can do like a indigo dying here yeah indigo dye studio here and you can make your own stuff like this very nice here’s some handkerchiefs the yarn used to make something this is really nice that’s nice too i kind of like this uh this um brownish orangey one too actually these houses are real homes yeah it’s like protected 1889 this building here this structure here is from 1889 let’s walk through here wonder what this is ah this is like paint your own sha statues okay so you can buy your uh shisa here they can paint it by yourself yeah you see there they are blank and they can paint it any color you like and then you can do it right over here look at this it’s so cute another thing you can do is you can dress up in traditional Okinawan uh outfits like them over there and you can walk around the village this is a really nice home this was a former UAT family residence do you want to color your own shisa there’s a nice courtyard here that’s another house over there there’s a cafe here and you can have some bukubucha which is a Okinawa traditional tea with foam on the top it’s really delicious okay we’re going to we’re going to go get some tea we’re going to try the bukabuka here looks good so we ordered some we’re going to sit here in this traditional room so we ordered bukubucha and bukubuku coffee you see the foam so this is the coffee and this is my bukubuku tea it’s jasmine tea and I believe the foam is made with rice and it’s a drink from the the days uh when there was uh a king emperor and um yeah this was like a royal drink and served with chinsko which is another traditional Okinawa sweet do you want the brown sugar or the okina salt up to you i’ll I’ll give you the one you like brown sugar brown sugar okay I’ll I will eat the one with the salt and it looks like this this is a chinskull it’s kind of like shortbread but a little bit different it’s made with lard um flour sugar really simple ingredients delicious m you know it it tastes like has like a roasted flavor and then it’s okay it puts on your nose yes [Music] still mysterious this four piece m oh oh it’s good very good [Music] chin love this i can eat this like every day like seriously when I’m here in Okinawa I I eat some form of Okinawa sweets every day did you know that Okinawa has a variety of traditional sweets from a long time ago i believe they have around 50 different sweets okinowan style sweets i’ve only tried like 10 of them i’m so relaxed right now like this is actually a very chill park you know there are no roller coasters or anything right so I’m so I’m so lazy right now what is this called utaki is the most important element of a village community it’s where the guardian deity of the village community is enshrined so this must be it here this is a real one it’s a real one oh and I think we can uh check out this house here right here let’s enter from the proper entrance gate i’m so sleepy this place makes me sleepy that’s a good thing though it means I’m totally relaxed so this is a Ishi zumi stonework right this is like uh in the ancient days right like the entrance of a like a grand home and so this is the entrance of the Oh here’s a little plaque the U residence right okay so uh oh it it was uh transported here from uh Kumijima town entering and we can enter the house tatami mat first let’s take a walk around the per the perimeter oh my god I can’t talk anymore i’m so sleepy this must be the [Music] well this must have been like the backyard or [Music] something what’s this this is fulu pigory oh um what is this this is where they kept um pigs I think i think I think so yeah let’s enter the home with the with the residence so it looks like this from the inside believe this is the kitchen it’s very dark right now i can’t enter this is uh where they were weaving things it’s a pretty big [Music] home what’s there oh this like the altar with the traditional offerings [Music] almost our bus Okay the time for the bus yeah okay so we have to walk towards the bus stop now uh we have a dinner plans tonight so uh that is for the Tapi Eats channel uh you want to watch that because it’s a restaurant I’ve been wanting to go for the longest time it’s not your typical Okinawan restaurant they do serve Okinawan food but it’s like a mixture of uh Okinawan royal cuisine and something and like modern modern technique i’m not really sure but really really looking forward to that so anyway thank you so much for watching we made it we made it guys i’m so happy i’m so happy we took the bus here thank you Satoshi thank you it’s easy for you i know it’s easy for you but it was quite a challenge for me no it wasn’t i mean I just followed you today anyway thanks for watching i’ll see you guys in the next one guys and as always I appreciate your comments bye
Hey guys! In today’s video, I take on a little challenge… riding the bus in Okinawa (again)! If you saw my last attempt, you know it didn’t go so well 😅 But this time, I’m determined to make it to Okinawa World — a unique cultural theme park filled with history, food, and adventure.
Come along as I explore one of Japan’s most impressive limestone caves, try some delicious traditional Okinawan dishes for lunch, and soak in the beauty and culture of southern Okinawa.
Let’s see if I can finally master the Okinawa bus system and make the most of a single day here!

Wow it looks hot xx❤
What a fantastic place to visit
Hi @Shinichi’s World, thanks for the video. It’s so timely before my trip to Okinawa next month. Love this place and visiting Okinawa the second time.
can't have curry and bananas because I'm allergic to it
Shinchi, thanks for the tour! I first visited the cave back in 1988. Back then it was the caves only. It's much more interesting now with the other exhibits. We were there about 2 years ago, we had an awesome time.
Anxiety sucks, I deal with it when it comes to flying, I have to take medication for any flights over 2 hours, shorter flights I just deal with it because the medication makes me out of it
You know it's a good cold IPA beer when Satoshi son does his little "Good Beer" dance in his chair @ 20:27 🍺
The bushes with the pleasant-smelling white flowers look like Carissa macrocarpa. I find the perfume is similar to jasmine with a slight astringency. In English they are often called Natal plum, as they are native to the KwaZulu-Natal region of South Africa. They produce small red fruit that is both sweet and tart with a flavor similar to cranberry or rhubarb. They are used widely in landscaping in warm coastal areas because they can cope with salt spray from the ocean, and they are easy to prune and shape into hedges.
I miss the Gyokusendo Caves so much. When we lived in Okinawa, I used to love going there so much. Back in the early 2000s, it wasn't called Okinawa World, so this came as kind of a surprise to me. I loved the cave so much and the garden and nursery just outside of it. I always enjoyed trying out the different brown sugar samples as well as seeing how they made snake whisky. Such great times and memories. PS, the food at the restaurant there looks a lot better now than it was when we were there. We'd end up going downtown after and eating ramen at the big mall instead.
Stalactite hangs 'tight' to the ceiling. Stalagmite 'might' make it up to the ceiling.
Wonderful to se. Going to okinawa world and Naha end of july from Sweden.
I’ve been to a few caves but this one was the most impressive.
Cool caves! We've used the buses in Japan, Hong Kong, and S. Korea, and while we did make a few mistakes, they're mostly pretty easy and convenient. Korean bus drivers are crazy though.
You guys crack me up. Satoshi was hilarious on this trip! ❤
Beautiful video ❤
Noooooo! Not IPA!! 🙂
Well done, Shinichi! And, thanks to Satoshi for being such a good navigator and safety net. You are a great team.
Okinawa World looked like a lot of fun. So many interesting sights and activities. I loved the opportunity to learn some traditional Okinawan crafts. That's the kind of souvenir I value–something handmade.
I'm glad you had a beautiful day to enjoy it all. Love to you both. 💙💚
I miss Okinawa cave I call it, the things are getting long…do they still have habu were takes pictures…
I'm watching your sister video s too Nikki San, your mom there too..
SATOSHI and SHINICHI, good morning 🌅 from HONG KONG. I had just finished watching both of you enjoying your ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI 🍣 🍱🍱🍱🍣🍣🍣🍱🍣🍱🍣. What a wonderful eating adventure. 😋😋😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤
Now you are in OKINAWA observing this under cave . WOW ! I didn’t know Japan 🇯🇵 has underground caves ! 😳 So splendid and good to know.
Lucky you’re not in the states…. You have too share public transport with people who don’t/can’t bathe and collect cans… Stinky
😘❤️🤩😍🥰🌹💯🌈🙏
That foam drink looks so interesting. I've had the salt biscuit, it's so good!
Very much enjoyed this video. Thanks!
The caves are amazing
I need to go back! My cousins took us there and we didn’t get to explore everything that I wanted to see. The caves were so cool and the performance was amazing. The dance reminded me of Thailand or India type of dancing – really interesting. That house looked like my uncles home. Yes, I definitely need to go back and truly immerse myself in my roots. But next time I will bring mosquito repellent and anti itch cream – we got bitten up like crazy there. TFS!
Good job not freaking out! I couldn’t handle the claustrophobic environment !❤
Thankyou that was very good I enjoyed it. Take care
Thank you Shinichi and Satoshi, a very fun and interesting trip, the cave was impressive and the water obviously made for good beer! 😉 Well done Shinichi for facing the bus ride and thank you Satoshi for providing partnership and support, I know it means a lot. It's a big advantage to us to have taste and texture information about the food from each of you with your different tastes. I love the indigo colour, it's one of my favourites.
Everything looked delicious and the scenery is beautiful.
I've always loved exploring caverns as I find them interesting. And, Shinichi, you remembered correctly, it is the Stalactite that forms from the roof of a cavern, I remember confusing stalagmites and stalactites a lot as a kid even though I was interested in such even then.
I TOTALLY TOTALLY love your channel… love every content you decide to make…. The ONE THING I CANT STAND lolol …. Is how you “” ELONGATE “” your words or sentences….. MEANING… I know this is your nature and how you talk lol ….. but. You say things like …. Wooooow… this food is Amaaaaaazing… or WOW… the trees are beauuuuutiful… or OH my God, this is SCAAAAAARY…
I love you endlessly lolol … but you say a sentence , and you say words that are HUGELY elongated… personally?? … drives me crazy lololol …. NOW…. I know it’s your nature lol… but HOLLA, … it’s so USA California valley talk lol.. closest way to describe it…..
When you say in a video it’s beauuuuuutiful lol…. I wish at times you just say wow it’s beautiful without the elongated stretch lol
Sorry … I have a sister lol , that does the SAME THING…. It TOTALLY drives me NUTS… but im addicted to watching you lol …. So I yell at the TV saying …. QUIT DOING THAT when your explaining something lol
Don’t hate me lol… I’m your biggest fan… but I know you know what I’m talking about
