First Day in Tokyo BLEW Our MINDS π―π΅ Total Culture Shock!!!
we’re the Wonderlust kids zoe Ed Oliver and Violet a British family landing in Japan with absolutely no idea what we’re doing we got lost in Shabuya Station hit a language barrier at every turn and had a chaotic but unforgettable adventure through Harajuku and you know what we loved every second because Japan doesn’t just surprise you it spins you around and doesn’t let go well after a long 14-hour flight we have made it to Tokyo Japan [Music] so we went for a really easy breakfast this morning we went to the 7-Eleven and we got some croissants and some frosties now we’ve chosen to stay in the Ginsa area this is where we’ve stayed before when we’ve come because it’s an absolutely fantastic location to get to lots of different places you can actually walk to Tokyo station which is I think where we’re sort of headed now which is really good if you want to pick up your Shinkansen to go to any of your day trips we also find it’s a really lovely area they say it’s like the Mayfair or the Night’s Bridge here in Tokyo so we don’t really know where we’re headed we’re just going to walk around and explore different sites different tastes we love the food out here so we cannot wait to explore all the different street foods i’m super excited to see all the vending machines give that a go with the kids and see what food and drinks we can get from those cuz they’ve got some truly crazy things here we’re just going to explore nice and easily today see what Tokyo has to offer so stick around and see what we’ll find we’ve just entered Tokyo Station now this station is huge you could literally get so lost when you’re in here um so let’s see cuz I think by the time we get used to it it’ll probably be time to come home one of the things we love when we come to Japan is I don’t know Ed what do you what do we love when we come to Japan are we going to say the same thing the train station yeah every train station has a jingle and it’s great also everyone’s so civilized getting on the train here you have to queue up there’s none of this like hurdling onto the train not like India the trains are never late either they are always banged on time here i think there was something in the news the other day and I saw that the the train driver apologized cuz it was 30 seconds late to the train station [Music] so we’ve worked out what train we need to get on i’m hoping Ed knows where he’s going because I’m just following along so everyone like lines up so it’s really civilized there’s the jingle that we love there he is [Music] every train station has its own jingle it’s great [Music] oh wow look at this street got a a very interesting name not sure how we pronounce that but it looks like Titta Street how do you reckon you say that Ed exactly how you said it exactly how I just said it this is like the crazy street isn’t it this looks really really cool what they got they got so many quirky things here in Japan i can’t Japan yeah it says Japan yeah this one this one you like that one is this one Japan oh they got kimonos mommy would like a kimono that says Tokyo Story but I think that might be adult size but uh I wanted to say Oliver is very excited with all of the quirky things they have here what’s my dancing what he doesn’t realize is up here i think I’ve just spotted they’ve got like these little like vending machines for toys so once he spotted that I’m going to lose him for a long time i think it sees it oh yeah he’s gone he has gone sweet so I think we literally just stepped into toy heaven for the kids so they’ve got a whole shop full of all of these little capsule toys so it was 500 yen to put in so I think that’s like Β£250 and they get all these different cool toys but honestly there’s so much in here it’s insane the kind of things you can get they’ve got all these little toys hello Kitty headbands all different crazy crazy things what have they got mini perfume i want mini perfume how do you do it i got Oh no not this one up here no this one you want this one but no I don’t think I think the perfume one is this one is good yeah I want this one that one all right one wait wait wait your turn how do I do it i can’t turn can we do one oh can you pick that up two three and then we turn it ow what did you get is it like a lip lip might be like a lip gloss or something i’m not sure let’s have a look two from Pokemon or just this one uh PokΓ©mon you have more PokΓ©mon or Oh okay is there more PokΓ©mon can you show us where the PokΓ©mon is or this one thank you very much thank you thank you oh what’s this one oh that one which one this one of these ones yeah get me up so I can see get me in green and spin it [Applause] thank you dad this looks like I can’t open it oh look at the trunk there’s just me of course it’s just these kids could literally have spent all day in here but the only way to get them out was to say “Don’t spend all your money in one go.” But literally I think any kid would absolutely love spending their coins and their pocket money in there wow all the food here smells amazing what we What are we about to try Violet we are about to try rainbow cheese bread looks interesting daddy’s in there ordering it how cool does that look guys it smells amazing 10 yen rainbow cheese oh Violet look oliver look at that try it what do you think Violet it’s too hot did you say it stinks it’s so hot it’s too hot blow on it no you too hot i don’t taste it doesn’t stink i don’t like You don’t like it it’s very pretty looking i want a big one i want a big one i want a big one mommy are you excited i’m excited for it to be big is it going to be huge huge pink and green i think I don’t know how they do the colors wow isn’t that cool i think this is definitely going to be a hit oh I don’t know no this isn’t yours this is the one before oh wow i want a rainbow rainbow is that what you want i think the man chooses oh wow oh my goodness me this is my hat white yellow and pink [Music] oh wow it’s bigger than you oh my goodness i have blue pink and white is that delicious oh my goodness me look at the size of that you got a pink song we got a happy little boy happy little girl you got a blue tongue oh yeah but it doesn’t matter you like that color this is such a busy crazy amazing sensory overload street there is so much down here from food to toys clothes the stuff in Japan is just bonkers no other way to describe it so many people down here as well it’s got a real buzz buzzing atmosphere and it’s a Monday so you wouldn’t necessarily expect it to be that busy but it definitely is so if it’s this busy on a Monday God only knows what it would be like at the weekend i don’t like it you don’t like it okay i’ll have it then she doesn’t like it i’ll have it then no just one is enough for you as the chewy bread wasn’t much of a success don’t even know where to look there’s just so much to see [Music] take Street is full of surprises but this might be our favorite it’s called My Pig Cafe and yes it’s exactly what it sounds like for 2,200 yen per adult or half that if your kids are under three you get a free drink and some very snuggly pig time these tiny pigs are free to roam around and honestly they were so well looked after they took turns climbing onto our laps snuggling in while we gave them a little stroke and Violet she was in love we literally had to drag her out kicking and screaming and honestly we kind of didn’t want to leave either i must be gentle i never got a piggy i need to do something else seems a bit busier down here now now that it’s the afternoon so we’re just heading back now to get the train nearer to the hotel cuz Oliver’s desperate for a toy shop that we promised him when we came down here earlier I don’t think they were playing as much music it’s definitely a bit more of a Violet doesn’t see the pig cafe yeah we got to make sure Violet can see that pig cafe because we don’t want to start those tears off again it took us a long time to distract her i’m not sure whether Oliver was scared or not scared of any of the ones that weren’t babies they seem to love daddy the most yeah six really nice to see the crossing with the umbrellas hopefully we’ll see the crossing tomorrow you’ll have to keep an eye on all our videos we’ll have a few in the Japan series cuz there’s just so much to see don’t think we can fit it into one video that was just one day in Tokyo and we’re already obsessed the kids had the time of their lives and honestly so did we stick around subscribe and join us for more adventures as we explore Japan
