[Music] hello and welcome to my channel My name is Maria and this is my Osaka vlog I am currently making my way over to Dobururi Street which is a district in Osaka best known for its delicious street food [Music] This area has been an entertainment hub since the 1620s when people first started developing restaurants tea houses and theaters here Ooh I found some tangulu which is pretty much like candied um fruits And it’s actually a traditional Chinese snack but it’s popular in Japan as well And it’s pretty good It’s very sweet but it’s fun and crunchy In this area there are also indoor street markets with so many more fun things The outdoor streets are lined with a lot of famous and iconic restaurants For example the one on the right with the giant 3D crab is called Kani Doraku And it’s a very popular photo [Music] spot North Oh my god I’ve been wanting to try these for so long So this is takoyaki a popular Japanese street food that actually originated here in Osaka Wow And these are actually so good I really like these Highly recommend Takoyaki is made of a wheat flour based batter and it’s cooked in a special molded pan and then it is typically filled with some octopus tempora scraps pickled ginger and green onion I also saw a stand for some grilled prawn and I just had to try it out cuz it looked super delicious And wow it was so good Honestly all the food here is so good So something very interesting that I have noticed a lot in Japan is this guy And I don’t know like why they have so many of these statues but I’ve seen him everywhere And he’s he’s kind of spooky looking I got a glimpse of some cosplayers which was cool because I didn’t see any in Tokyo [Music] For those of you who are not familiar with cosplay it is a performance art very popular in Japan by the way where people dress up and act as characters from different animes mangas or even video [Music] games And I think the reason I caught so many of them was because it was a national holiday and people were all out and about So that’s probably why I spotted so many of them [Music] I am standing in front of Ricuro Oisano Mis aka Uncle Ricuro shop and it’s famous for its Japanese cheesecake And this place is super popular um as you can see from the long line Ricuro’s Japanese cheesecake is a light airy and jiggly dessert that is a favorite in Japan and particularly here in Osaka And this cheesecake is not like the dense New York style cheesecakes It’s more similar to a chiffon cake or a sule with a fluffy texture and a delicate flavor The sun has set and it is now dark I am making my way over to Osaka Shinsen Kai that you see over there And it is a district that has a very fascinating blend of old and new This area was designed to have a retro futuristic atmosphere and I have to say they did a pretty good job The iconic landmark of this area is the Suten Kaku Tower which is very fun and colorful during the night time I have spotted the creepy looking thing again Like he’s just everywhere Look at his face Anyways I came across this super cute place It’s called Omu Story and they offer omo rice which is a famous Japanese dish which has fried rice and a fluffy omelette on top That was the best breakfast ever Like if you guys are ever in Japan you have to try Omar rice It’s so good Wow I’m I feel amazing Now I’m going to walk over to Osaka Castle So let’s go and explore that I crossed over the Kyobashi Bridge and started exploring the Osaka Castle Park I noticed that at the entrance there was this old guy with an eagle sitting on his hand The Osaka Castle features two modes An inner mode with wet and dry sections and an outer moat surrounding the entire castle grounds Wow this looks like house moving castle If you’ve ever seen the movie there’s like a lot of green grass fields like that and it really reminds me of house This is so cute [Music] Osaka Castle was originally built in 1585 and the castle has been destroyed by fire and rebuilt multiple times and the current main tower was actually constructed in 1931 So there’s a lot of history behind this place This castle is also known as Kinja which translates to the golden castle referencing to Hide Yoshi’s love for gold and the castle’s golden appearance at [Music] sunset Oh and Toyotoi Hideoshi was the guy that initially started the construction [Music] You don’t need [Music] The gardens on the castle grounds are very beautiful and this area is so nice to walk around in So definitely consider 2 to 3 hours to explore this [Music] place I just arrived to the Omea Sky Building It looks super cool And they have an observation deck up there So that’s where I’m headed There’s a cafe inside where you can sit down grab a little coffee or something and then enjoy this view And this is Oaka from above [Music] This was their original sketch for the building made in 1988 And then they started to make an actual model [Music] The guy who made the original sketch also planned this So he thought that in the future there could be multiple interconnected skyscraper complexes hovering above the city Wow I’m on the rooftop and it’s so cool here because you can see the city You can see the other side of the observatory and then you can see down here as well the [Music] escalators Today is such a perfect day too for this [Music] This is probably the coolest escalator I’ve ever used Looks so futuristic In the evening I went to the dot district because I only explored it during the daytime and I wanted to see what it looks like in the evening as well [Music] Oh my god I found a tayyaki and this is like little fish pancakes They have red bean paste filling sweet potato filling and premium custard filling Yeah The tayyaki is so good This is like a solid eight out of 10 Actually it’s a
