Is ¥1000 Enough for Miyajima? Travel Tips for Card Users!
all right guys we’re about to head down from the Shishiwa station where we are now again to the foot of Mount Misen but what a lovely hike it was the whole way up about 20 minutes to the 535 m observation deck the highest point on Miima Island and back down maybe 25 minutes i was a little tired and of course we also visited the Shishi observation deck now we have a lot more to do so it’s time to take the ropeway back down what a great trip to the top of Mount Nissan it was I’ll keep this as a souvenir catch it on my way out that was an awesome trip thanks for coming up with me guys our next main goal today is the Itsukushima Shrine should be right down again through the Mumiji Dani Park over 200 beautiful red me Japanese maple leaf trees let’s go obviously a very popular place to visit as well and you guys can see for very very good reason as well goal number two today as you all will remember is Itsukushima Shrine again an easy walk from here whether you walk or take the bus after the ropeway seeing all the beautiful mumiji the Japanese maple leaves here as well it’s making me hungry for another mumiji mangju this is one of my friends this is uh Huddle one of my good buddies uh who I’ve been looking for of course the famous symbol here on Mia as well the wild deer very friendly guys see you i think the deer have perhaps woken up after what was a bit of a cool and crisp fall morning the deer will likely be uh coming out to say hello now also you can make up your own names if you prefer i just All right guys we’re back around the Itsukushima Shrine as I mentioned Niaima is chock full of beautiful and scenic spots with a lot of cultural and spiritual importance as well this is Kju [Music] Noto all right guys with the Toi gate just behind you all we’re now at the entrance to Itsukushima Ginga Itsukushima Shrine let’s go all right guys we made it long awaited to the entrance of Its Kushima Shrine i did check if you could pay by card unfortunately it’s only cash so I used a very well spent 300 yen i still have 700 yen left to spend let’s go inside to the main part of its Kushima Shrine and by having it floating appearing to float on the beautiful inland sea really unique and powerful location for centuries why Miaima has long been considered a sacred island you see see from afar now the five-story pagod we pointed out earlier one of the many Buddhist symbols and temples along with the beautiful Shinto shrine we are on now the Marodo shrine is just behind us here a small part of one of the many in the greater Isukushima shrine this is a area for guest deities the spirits visiting the shrine as we are right now as well all right obviously again at low tide now you can see continuing to recede uh the water level the shrine’s base has come into view very beautiful again this would have been a passageway for the spirits to enter this sacred area also during the 2023 G7 summit which was held in Hiroshima the day uh that the leaders from around the world visited they took their photo just for folks are here and essentially where I am right now as well all right guys here at the main shrine inside shrine the coin especially brought five yen to deposit an offering for the shrine in the deities of course 5 coin as I mentioned the most proper and traditional way to offer to the shrine [Music] [Music] [Applause] you guys might remember the Tori gate we saw this morning as you can see with the eb and flow of the tide the change in the environment you have a completely different view very authentic one from the very base of the tori gate you can also it’s one thing I love about this island as well the connection to nature and how again with the different times of day each and every day you can see a variety of different landscapes and times so I’m about 56 you can see just how big and impressive this Tori gate is by me standing right next to it touching an ancient piece of Hiroshima and Japanese history and culture amazing gives you a real sense of how impressive and big this toy gate actually is as well and it’s time for my personal third goal on the day you remember the first one was to take the ropeway up to sacred Mount Nissan have a wonderful view of the Stoan Sea the second of course was to visit its shrine number three and perfect timing so I’m getting hungry is to see what we can find in the principal shopping and eating street so let’s go just behind me I have found the one thing I eat every time I come to Miaima a mamaji that we had before this time the fried version it is so good and I want to share that experience with you guys let’s go already smells delicious you can actually see them being made as well ate earlier but this time we’ll get the fried version choosing our filling of choice as well coins to purchase for 200 yen what a great price as well for how delicious i know it is one for me please ticket at the bottom as well i am good to go hey could I get one for you thank you very much yes I got what I’ve been waiting for since the morning since I woke up since I knew I was coming a week ago to enjoy this dectable a mamaji fried mamaji of course we had the moment mangju earlier in the day on our hike when it’s fried crispy golden brown like [Music] this uma is a Japanese oh my gosh every time it is delicious let me show you the inside before I eat all of it very sweet but just the right level it’s absolutely delicious excuse me mhm i’m going to buy another a lot of different items a lot of again ones that have significance in this local area that’s I think I found what I might want this these are small shamojis they’re rice spoons very important symbol of Kira Miaima these have different messages essentially like a amulet or a good luck charm for specific parts of people’s lives written i think I’m going to go with one of these my favorite is this one it says buchias buchi is kind of like Hiroshima dialect version of timmo like very uh in English so I really like this one bias i want to be very happy and I love the Hiroshima dialect on here i think I’m going to choose this one and what this place will do is for 500 yen they’ll also write your name or whatever message you’d like on the back so I’m going to take advantage of that service as well i know do you take credit credit credit cards yes no problem cash 500 yen thank you thank you thank you [Music] all right so from the short name I wrote for the lovely woman she wrote my name on the back of the Shamoji the rice paddle wishing good fortune particularly in Hiroshima dialect for happiness ready for the reveal that is so cool so my very own personalized Miaima symbol with my name on it [Music] i feel like I would like to eat some oysters this is as we’ve already spoken about and saw from the top of Mount Misen oyster production in Hiroshima particularly in the Setto Nikai the inland sea area is abundant and very rich in flavor so this is one of my favorite spots on the Ajima Island let’s see if we can’t go eat some oysters inside i’m already getting hungry just me i haven’t even tried oysters yet in Miaima let’s do it at one of my favorite places on the island hello hello thank you for coming thank you very much ah first of all can I pay by credit card yes of course i’m out of cash that’s a relief thank you could I try the oven baked oysters please and something to drink lemon squash hiroshima lemon squash please and I have a little bit of a sweet tooth let’s stick with the lemon theme how about hot lemon pie as well for dessert oh it looks amazing yes thank you so much this is lemon squash and a lemon pie this is a brand and a white miso an over this is a margarita thank you very much thank you ooh this looks amazing so I’m going to start with the white miso flavored gratan I think oh boy let’s [Music] see m the oyster is as I expected but the graton flavor and the cheese give it a certain crunch as well m smells very refreshing lemon squash something I never had until I came to Japan let’s [Music] try m it’s perfect all right let’s go for the most traditional oven baked all the lemon m we already squeezed a bit of the fresh lemon on with the juice looks [Music] delicious i can’t believe I’m down to the last oyster already each one was different and delicious in its own way all these years of training with chopsticks for this [Music] moment squishy a little sweeter than I thought and goes so so well with the oyster flavor absolutely delicious 10 out of 10 taking a moment to enjoy another peaceful moment on this beautiful place with now my lemon pie [Music] dessert i’m sure you can hear excuse me that crunch as well really nicely baked and the perfect filling inside with just enough crunch as well delicious [Music] that is a really delicious refreshing drink i am as I said full heart full stomach feeling more refreshed than ever even after an eventful great day on the engine [Music] all right guys it’s that time of the evening as you can see we’ve spent an entire day from the morning hours until the beautiful early evening hours here in Miaima and you’ll remember with just 10 yen 1,000 yen which is now gone that’s right Sen Goyen at the shrine of course you’ll remember I used my extra special 5 yen uh to wish place my wish at the shrine despite all of that we had a wonderful day just with about 1,000 yen my heart is full my belly is too full and it’s time for me to board one of the two fairies it will take about 10 minutes to get back to the mainland from there I’m going to go enjoy the rest of my evening in beautiful Hiroshima thank you so much for joining me again and I’ll see you next time
