I’m fairly sure a car needs to be 25 years or older to be imported.

So every importable car has to be 25 years or older to import into the USA.

But if you’re talking about that particular Honda – E – it didn’t even sell well in its home country. You’ll have to wait around 20 or so years before it’s fully legal in the USA.

Yeah I don’t think your going to import pic related for another 20 years brother. I *believe* there are JDM spec Teslas and those can be imported without following the 25 year rule, but that’s because there is a USDM counterpart already. However IMHO Tesla’s are lame and I would be embarrassed to drive one in public, even moreso if I went through the cost and effort to import a RHD one. But if you are asking about Japanese market *only* EVs, either wait a bit for the first wave to hit 25 years old or wait a bit more for the cool ones to hit 25 years

Letting us know *where* you’re importing it to would be a great first step to asking this question.

Laws vary wildly for imports around the world.

This car didn’t sell well, and has been discontinued with only one generation. Its cute as hell but it was too expensive, was slow and had terrible range.

If you can import it, you’ll likely hemorrhage money trying to source parts
