MAJA Education Centre announced that it is now accepting applications for the Asahi Shimbun Scholarship, which will allow students to study in Japan while delivering newspapers in April, 2026.
The scholarship is open to applicants who have passed the Japanese language proficiency test (JLPT) (N4) or above (JLPT certificate must be submitted), are 18-25 years old as of April 2026, have passed the new 12th grade or the old first year of university, are healthy and single, have no tattoos at all, and hold a Passport (PV / PE) or have received a QR code for recent application or renewal.
Applicants must have a motorcycle license (A) and those who have applied for a student visa or other visas to Japan, or those who have had their COE rejected, are not eligible to apply. After passing the interview, candidates will be required to pay K 2.5 million to the centre, which includes fees for Japanese language course, traffic rules and newspaper delivery courses, daily conversation courses with Japanese teachers, and $1,000 to the newspaper office upon receiving the COE.
Benefits provided by the the company include air tickets, tuition fee for two years, accommodation by the relevant branch, and 150,000 yen or more salary with a 10,000 yen deduction per month. Vacation rules are four days per month and 10 days for the first year starting six months after joining, and 11 days for the second year starting 18 months after joining.
Applications will be accepted from 18 June to 12 July in the Google Form ( https://forms.gle/hGCSNr332KtQ56jk7 ) and applicants will be contacted only through the Gmail addresses filled in the form, the centre announced.
