PL Deshpande Garden, also known as the Okayama Friendship Garden, is one of the largest Japanese-style gardens in India. Located on Sinhagad Road, Pune, it’s inspired by the famous Koraku-en Garden in Okayama, Japan. Spread over 10 acres, the garden beautifully blends traditional Japanese landscaping with water streams, small waterfalls, lush lawns, and picturesque bridges.
Built to promote friendship between India and Japan, the garden was named in honor of Pu La Deshpande, a legendary Marathi writer and humorist.
It’s the perfect escape for nature lovers, walkers, photographers, and those seeking a moment of peace in the heart of Pune.
