24 Hour Tokyo Food Binge ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต RAMEN + WAGYU Beef + STREET FOOD in Tsukiji & Shinjuku!

welcome to Chopstick Travel and welcome to Tokyo Japan [Applause] This is undoubtedly one of the world’s greatest food cities This to me is the pinnacle of food Today we’re taking you for a full day of eating 24 hours of Japanese food here in Tokyo From street food to ramen to Wagyu beef we’re going to try it all and share it with you in this video It’s going to be a great one So make sure you stay tuned until the end Let’s go eat some Japanese food [Music] So our first stop today is for guan which is sliced beef on rice We’ve come to this place called Kitsunia There’s a massive line It’s right outside of the outer market You can see they got this massive bowl of the beef stewing away There’s literally only two seats We got really lucky to get our seat And you can either get the organs or the the beef slices And then you can get a raw egg cracked on top Of course you got to get the raw egg in Japan So here we go It’s a very touristy area Honestly if I’m being honest with you guys it’s one of my least favorite areas in all of Tokyo because it’s just so touristy and so busy all the time But this place has been on my list for a long time Sitting next to this The aroma Oh lord it’s so good So here we go Mix it up Slices of beef Simple dish It looks really good Let’s try it [Music] Oh my gosh Worth the wait Everybody is lined up for this like insane amount There’s only standing room and then these two little seats that we got right at the counter So we got super lucky to be able to sit right here Watch all the action going on Yeah it’s delicious You can taste the dashy soy sauce Kind of reminds me of a beef panach in Portugal because they they stew the beef like or the pork there Similarly in slices but obviously the the mixture that they’re stewing in is completely different Here it’s going to be soy sauce In Portugal it’s going to be like garlic and wine But very very good Only open till 1:00 p.m So you got to come early for breakfast [Music] Yum Delicious [Music] So there’s some satini uh chili powder Japanese chili powder on the table you can add I think the egg is a must It’s so creamy I love it with the egg This is such a cool experience sitting in front of us watching this do away melt and it’s just constantly constantly customers take it This one here is actually the opal Um we didn’t do that one Just wanted to go for the the regular beef for breakfast But honestly it looks really good too And I’m sure it tastes pretty much the same because it’s just stewed so long Look at that [Music] They actually didn’t have it on the English menu but on the Japanese menu they have brazed tofu And we saw some locals ordering it Got to try it out So also stew bra Try a super soft tofu It’s like melt It’s just like butter Completely disintegrates in your mouth Super super hot Yum I love tofu and I love when it’s soft like this because it absorbs all the flavor really well [Music] Oh tofu is a must And you get unlimited supply of tea Nice Icy The only way I can describe that is a bubbling cauldron of beautiful beef So so good Worth a try Even though Sukiji is just insanely touristy it was really good I actually not underestimated maybe a little bit about the shop because there’s so many tourists So I thought it might be like so but now I know the reason why the long lie is because if you walk to restaurant way you still smell it If you guys are familiar with Japan you and you know Guan you might know like Yoshi Noya or Matsuya They’re like popular kind of Japanese fast food chains that serve the same food but this one was way better I think And I love it with the egg cracked on top I was just thinking myself like they probably been here long before the tourists ever showed up And they just happen to have the prime location I don’t know if that’s a blessing or a curse I mean they’re making lots of money but that’s going to be hard work There’s a constant line all day until 1:00 p.m [Applause] Papa [Music] [Music] So literally just two shops down from the Guodon shop is a a ramen shop It’s called Wakapa Ramen They serve showyu ramen So he puts a little bit of soy sauce and then with that beautiful uh pork broth and then the noodles I can safely say without even tasting it it’s not the best one in Tokyo okay But it’s a good option if you want ramen uh in the same area the Sukijichi market So standing only And I am too tall for this table Okay look at how low my bowl of ramen is here So I’m going to have to defend over But yeah you can see we’ve got the uh noodles of course the chashu sliced pork there’s some bamboo shoots and uh some green onions And yeah I’m going to have to like squat in but it’s such a busy little road Sticking my butt out Somebody’s going to slap me in the butt [Music] Wow not bad It’s soy ramen so it’s a little salty from the soy sauce not a salty shio ramen but I like the uh I like this style of ramen It’s not super thick like a tonkotu ramen which sometimes is a little bit too heavy Nice clear broth with a lot of flavor really really flavorful I have to do something like this I don’t know I’m not Japanese I can’t squat very well All right let’s try chashu Thin slice My knees are burning Actually it’s better than I thought it was going to be Bachoot Wow Nice Very Japanese A Nissan GTR just drove by Yeah Really good option honestly I mean there’s inside the actual market Like we’re just on the outskirts of the outer Suki market There is not much inside the market that I would highly recommend The Guon shop for sure If you don’t feel like having beef maybe come have some ramen instead Not a bad ramen but you got to be prepared to uh squat Mink’s got the advantage of being short Not too much Thank you for the compliment Thanks You’re not that short to be honest but still [Music] I think this one the bra I like cuz it’s not too salty for me but like it looks might not be the best one but it’s good option in this market All right that is breakfast in Tokyo Rice bowls and ramen Nice way to fill up We’re going to head to our next location So let’s go grab a train So we have come over to Shinjuku It’s good to note if you’re not familiar with Tokyo that it’s made up of many cities So Tokyo is a metropolitan area Shinjuku city is a city in itself So there is a lot to explore and places are far uh distances between each other So just keep that in mind if you’re visiting Tokyo for the first time We’ve come to Shinjuku It’s just about sun setting and we are going to head for yaki niku and barbecue Korean style barbecue here in Tokyo Let’s do it [Music] [Music] I need [Music] So we’ve come to Tiji Tokyo a yakiu and Korean barbecue restaurant So yakiniku is the equivalent of uh Korean barbecue here in Japan You have the grill at your table and you can grill it yourself But uh usually the yakiniku is with wagyu beef which we have ordered Korean barbecue is usually with pork which we’ve also ordered because Tedi actually specializes in both So we’re going to have a little bit of wagyu and a little bit of samabs too which is the uh Korean style pork belly This place serves like premium A5 Wagyu Every time I’m in Japan I get super excited to eat Wagyu And having a yakiniku is awesome I love watching them prepare it So food is coming I’m excited So here we have beautiful platter of wagyu Three different cuts I’m not totally sure which each one is A little bit lost in translation but just look how beautiful this is Look at that cut right there The marbling is just insane It is literally like 50/50 fat and meat Oh my gosh it looks so good So Japanese Wagu is worldrenowned If you haven’t had it at this point what are you doing with your life You’re missing out It is so good It’s just melting on the plate right here So let’s get it on the grill and cook this up So the first cut is a kalby which in English is a the short rib Just a few seconds on each side Medium rare you definitely don’t want to overdo it because uh this is really really good quality meat Thank you so much Yeah we’re good I think I’m just And we’ve also got three types of sauce here We’ve got a ponzoo sauce with a little bit of green onions barbecue sauce and then a plum sauce with some sesame seeds And this is smelling good Looking even better Okay starting with the kbe I’m going to go for a little dip in the the panoo sauce It’s just like melting on the plate You can see the fat just dripping off of it A moment of silence for the beautiful Wagu cow that had to die for me to be this amazed by how delicious it is Oh my god it’s so effortless chewing Oh it has so much flavor just by itself But the little bit of panzoo kind of gives it some tanginess Okay Jeez that’s good I’m just going to go right in for the next one Let’s try some of this plum sauce Oh gosh it is seriously like meat made for people with no teeth Like you really don’t need to chew this [Music] And this is the most lean cut too Really smoky flavor Oh my gosh that’s amazing Okay so there’s a chunk of the Wagu fat which you just use to kind of grease up the uh griddle This is a Korean barbecue style the grill here Like it’s not a yakiniku style which is usually like a kind of like a mesh net over top of it but does the job And I’m going to go for this beautiful piece back here Look at the marbling on there guys That is what Wagu dreams are made of Oh that’s sizzle Oh yeah All right I’m just going to go all four pieces on there I really don’t think it needs a whole lot of time Look at the fat on that one Big chunk of fat on there Wow That sizzle The fat just dripping off of the wagon Oh my gosh Maybe like 30 seconds each side They’re pretty small cuts so I really don’t think you need to cook them up very long at all Oh yeah beautifully charred on the side there Look at that Oh guys it smells incredible I don’t know if you can hear me over this sizzling It is really sizzling You can still see the fat Wow Yeah that was less than a minute cooking I’m going to go for a dip in the barbecue sauce Japanese style barbecue sauce Yeah so much flavor packed into there Fat is such an amazing thing I love fat So delicious If you’ve never had Japanese wagu It’s almost like I don’t know how to explain it It’s almost like dessert steak because it just feels so rich and fatty I really like this ponzoo sauce the most This cut is even more tender than the last one Wow That is delicious guys Incredible Okay I’m just going to put a little bit of salt on this one It honestly doesn’t need much though because there’s so much flavor from the fat Soon as it feels the warmth of your your tongue the fat renders and just it fills your mouth It’s like taking a drink of fat last cut This one looks really fatty I love the marbling Such a beautiful thing And it’s fun too because it’s interactive but it’s kind of I’m kind of impatient because I just want to eat my Wagu It looks so good I’m hungry Okay this is the last cut Can you see the fat just glistening on there It’s a little dark in here but believe me there is so much fat Plum sauce M Wow that one’s fattiest Wow Yum The plum sauce is great It’s a little bit sweet Yum That meat is just so rich and oily Let’s go for the barbecue sauce for the last bite Yum This is something you got to try You got to try the Wagu in Japan And this stuff is like premium premium wagu But even if you can get your hands on just any wagu you got to try it when you’re here So finish off with the wagu onto the pork Korean style but this is Japanese pork So this really fatty looking pork like crazy fat content Apparently this type of pork has a really high moisture content which makes it similar to beef tongue is what they told me So this one’s called hojou pork This one uh in the middle is ki pork And then over here we have kinki pork So all from Nagasaki Prefecture or actually sorry I’ve got a little list right here One of them’s from Tokushima Prefecture And then the other two are from Nagasaki Japanese pork but we’re going to have it Korean style We got kimchi We’ve got all the the dressings So let’s cook this up [Music] It’s okay Put kimchi on the grill Oh yeah When you grill the kimchi it gets so much better I love it So we grilled up a piece of the hoouju pork I’m going to make a little wrap here And uh we’ve got some some leaks And we’ve got several different sauces in the middle here Some garlic pickle I’m going to take a little bit of this miso And then we’ve got the kimchi on the grill Make a little wrap like this Are you all right [Music] Wow The pork is like the Wagu It’s so fatty Like look at this piece of pork I said the wagoo is like 50/50 This is like 9010 There’s so much fat on there Oh I love it with the kimchi though Gives it like a little crunch A little sourness When you grill the kimchi it actually takes out some of that sourness from the kimchi You can really taste the meat That’s good pork This is without a doubt the fattiest pork I’ve ever seen in my life Let’s just try a piece with just some kimchi this time And maybe a little dip in this lemon lemon sauce that they provided here as well [Music] It’s like a thin slice almost like bacon but they don’t cook it up crispy It just melts It’s It’s like drinking instead of eating That’s crazy Honestly this is a little bit too fatty for me I prefer the Wagu where it’s like marble This is just like a piece of fat Big bite [Music] So the pork belly or the sam gapsel the second version has been uh sliced up with the fork It’s a or with a scissors Sorry This one’s a thicker cut I’m going to grab put in my leaf And even though this is Korean food there’s wasabi on the table of course cuz we’re still in Japan There’s wasabi and panzoo So it’s still got a little bit of a Japanese flare to it Wrap that up Yum The pork is really fatty though I definitely prefer the beef It’s just a little bit too fatty but the fat really melts off I want the kimchi with the wagu I think it’d be good I don’t know I don’t know The beef beef is amazing The beef wagger beef is incredible But look at this pork Like it’s 8020 That’s 80% fat 20% meat Look at the thin strip of meat in there There’s barely any meat So if you want to have a really greasy night and uh cheat day this is a good meal for you The Wagu same thing but I find the Wagu’s got a lot more meat to it It’s got a really nice texture This one’s just like eating fat eating butter or something All right it’s our last cut of pork Pork fat I guess you could call it Just fat Let’s try it Little dip in white sauce here Let’s try this M It’s really good though I find the beef fat a little bit more kind of melting The pork fat it’s not chewy but there is a little bit of a a chew to it for sure But I actually love the kimchi here It goes good with the pork Actually it’s not bad It looked like it was uh going to be just super fat like only fat but uh it’s got a lot of flavor I think this cut was actually my favorite A little dip in the sesame one Yum Thank you so much Bye-bye So that was Tedi here in Tokyo right in the middle of Kabu Chico here in Shinjuku Really good I’d recommend their their beef Their beef was incredible The pork was also good but a little not a little fatty It was really fatty So we’re going to walk around this area This is like the heart of the nightife uh district here in Tokyo [Music] So here in Shinjjuku this district is called Kabu Chico Like I was saying it’s like the nightlife district It’s also like the neon light district You can see the lights here at night are just wild This place is crazy There’s a lot of uh questionable uh entertainment venues you can go to if you get my drift But one of the most famous things if you can see right there is Godzilla And every hour from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m he uh roars and lets out a little bit of smoke So should be happening here in a minute We’re going to hang out and watch There he goes Well that was a little bit disappointing He didn’t blow smoke I don’t know The light turned off and then the light turned back on and I think I heard a faint roar but uh that was it It’s like a tiny tiny roll [Music] Matcha ice cream Let’s try it M This is yummy It’s like rich in matcha I love matcha Is it sweet by the way No not really It’s like perfect perfect amount of the sweetness So if you come to Japan you’re not trying matcha You’re not really arriving here in Japan I’m not a huge matcha fan to be totally honest with you Also we’re right on the Godzilla Road It’s actually called Godzilla Road This was 700 yen And look at how tiny it is They barely gave you anything Not bad I don’t know I find it a little bit bitter Tastes like grass Like eating grass Yeah matcha It’s actually not bad [Applause] [Music] All right guys That’s it for today’s episode Tokyo is without a doubt one of the best if not the best food cities in the entire world There’s so much good food here And if you want to visit any of the spots like we tried today you can find the information for them down in the description box And we’ll see you guys on the next episode
