So, i’m recently 18 and i’ve saved up my pennies to buy a nice car that i can daily while still enjoying my drive. My budget is about 15k AUD (roughly 10kUSD).
I narrowed my favourite three to a 1990’s nissan 180sx, 2010’s toyota gt86 or a Na or Nb miata.
I know they’re all a cliche and basic, but they all look cool and from what i’ve seen user-friendly while also being fun to drive.
I’m not too big on modding them out, more just interior stuff i’d upgrade. I like being able to take corners a bit faster then i should, but also being able to just cruise as it would be my daily too🫤
Does anyone have any other options or any reasons to buy one that i’ve mentioned? much appreciated 🫡

Good luck getting a non-clapped 180SX in Australia for under $15k – they cost a fortune here. Currently anywhere between $23k and $65k on Carsales. You could try importing directly, but you’d still be going well over $15k nowadays, and won’t be able to inspect it yourself before buying.
MX-5 (NB-NC) and GT86 are more reasonable. More likely to be in your price range, and they were sold locally so there’ll likely be more parts.
Also keep in mind that insurance will cost you a fortune as a P-plater with a sports car. Worth getting some quotes before you buy something that will bust your budget year-on-year.
