Rapi:t from Namba to Kansai Airport is comfy and fast!🚝
Tried the direct Airport Express “Rapi:t” from Osaka-Namba! Hi! I’m in Shinsaibashi. Even early in the morning, it’s lively. Now heading to Nankai Namba Station to ride the “Rapi:t” to Kansai Airport. About 8 minutes on foot to Namba Station. Arrived at Nankai Namba Station! Cool looking building, right? Built in 1932, it’s a historic station. A major hub in Osaka, used by many. Today’s ride, the “Rapi:t”, is Nankai’s iconic express train. Fare to the airport: $6.75 + express fee $5.08 = $11.83. Rapi:t departs from Platform 9. Follow the purple line to reach it. You can buy tickets at the platform too. Two seat types: Regular and Super. I chose Super this time. Regular is $0.77 cheaper. It’s getting popular with international tourists. Here comes the Rapi:t! Looks like a steel mask — so intense! Wrapped with a Malaysia theme. Cute bear! Time to hop on. Big windows, very open feel. Plenty of luggage space. Seat width is roomy—485mm. 3 seats per row: 1+2 layout. Soft, comfy seats. Lots of legroom too. Recline switch here. Seat upright. Seat reclined. Reclines more than it looks! In-train information display. I’m in Car No. 6. Table fits a laptop. Bag hook. Drink holder on the right. Etiquette guide for riders. Wi-Fi available onboard. Big oval windows — a Rapi:t feature. We’re departing from Namba. The ride to Kansai Airport takes about 40 minutes. Passing through Osaka’s suburbs. Let’s check out the train facilities. Large luggage area here. It has locks for safety. Trash bin. Used to be a phone booth here. Buildings are getting fewer now. Rapi:t has 252 seats: 54 Super, 198 Regular. Next stop: men’s restroom. There’s a small sink too. Unisex toilet. No bidet, but it’s fine. Ladies’ toilet. Washroom area. There are shutters on both sides here. This used to carry checked luggage from Namba CAT to the airport, but no longer in use. Next, the Regular Seats. 4 seats per row (2+2), still spacious. There’s a vending machine too. Doors also have oval designs. Large windows make it bright and open. You can peek into the cockpit through the glass. Top speed is 120 km/h. Now passing through Kishiwada City. Almost at Kansai Airport. Stopped at Izumisano Station. That tall building is SIS Rinku Tower. At 256.1m, it’s Japan’s 5th tallest in 2025. Mainly offices and hotels inside. Next stop after Rinku-Town is Kansai Airport. Crossing the sea now—it’s reclaimed land. Building an airport on the sea—humans are amazing. I can see the airport now. Arrived at Kansai Airport Station! That went by fast. Time to get off. Cleaning starts once passengers get off. Only 40 mins from Namba to Kansai Airport so convenient! Seats rotate automatically. Thanks for the ride, Rapi:t! Meet “Rapi:t Ranger” a mascot version of the train! Now entering the airport. Kansai Airport sees growing inbound travel. It’s Japan’s 3rd busiest airport after Haneda and Narita Western Japan’s main gateway. There’s a Sky Deck for watching planes and a museum to learn about aviation. Many food options you can enjoy a full day here. Getting breakfast I’m hungry. Chose “Sukiya” today. Menu differs from regular branches. I got the “Gyū Maze Nokke Don” $3.62. Beef, okra, soft-boiled egg, pickles, etc. Pretty tasty. Just right for breakfast. Time to head home. Taking JR “Haruka” back. Rapi:t is great for Osaka sightseeing from the airport. For Kyoto, Haruka is better. Haruka goes straight to Kyoto no transfers. Choose Rapi:t or Haruka based on your destination. Hope this helps with your trip! That’s the end of the video. Like 👍🏻 and comment if you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching till the end!
I took the Rapi:t express from Osaka-Namba to Kansai Airport—just 35 minutes at its fastest! It’s quick and super convenient for visitors heading into Osaka. All seats are reserved, so you’re guaranteed a comfy ride. If you’re traveling via Kansai Airport or sightseeing in Osaka, give Rapi:t a try. Hope this helps with your trip!
