NVIDIA’s flagship Blackwell RTX 50 series GPUs are finally seeing some price cuts, but it is still a bit far from their MSRP in most regions.

ZOTAC and GAINWARD RTX 5090 GPUs Drop Below 400,000 Yen for the First Time; NA and EU Market Also Sees Some Price Reduction

It has been over four months, but the RTX 50 series GPUs still continue to list for prices way higher than their announced MSRPs. From 60-class to 90-class cards, NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPUs don’t see as good availability as expected yet, but things are gradually changing. The flagship GeForce RTX 5090 GPU is finally dropping in prices in various regions, and is doing it more impressively in Japan.

The RTX 5090 price trend in the previous months has revealed that the GPU continues to sell for over 450,000 Yen at the minimum and can be found listed for over 600,000 Yen in some cases. However, since 12th June, two of the RTX 5090 custom editions are selling for less than 400,000 Yen. As reported by Gazlog, the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 5090 SOLID and GAINWARD GeForce RTX 5090 Phantom used to sell for around 440,000 Yen, which is around US$3052.

Both the GPUs are currently listed for 398,000 Yen or US$2775, which is a roughly $275 price reduction. Despite computer parts usually being more expensive in Japan than in NA, the RTX 5090 seems to be selling for a comparatively lower price than in the NA market. The situation is surely improving in the NA and EU regions as well, but most of them are still listed for around $3000.

The good thing is that the availability has improved, particularly as the RTX 5090D exited China, which resulted in a reduced demand. On stores like Amazon and Newegg, you may find some editions in stock for around $2700-$2800, but only for a brief time since they get sold quickly. $3,000+ editions remain in stock, and the overall pricing trend is declining.

In EU regions, we can see most RTX 5090 editions dropping into the €2,400-€2,500 range in June, which was over €2,600 in May. It is still far from the MSRP of $1999, but hopefully, we can see sub-$2500 prices in the coming weeks. We recommend our readers wait until the price drops even further since the RTX 5090 isn’t worth the $2500+ price tag.
