Riding Indonesia’s Most Scenic Train Bandung to Yogyakarta 🇮🇩

hey let’s go let’s go it’s moving [Music] thank you cheers guys popcorn so right now we’re just crossing across a massive 
bridge [Music] okay so we just got our tea so one really cool thing on this train is that on this side of the train you can actually 
see volcanoes when you’re driving past let’s give this a taste [Music] i loved it [Music] salomad Puggy or GD and good morning guys 
from Bang Dong station today we are getting on a scenic 6hour train through the countryside of 
Indonesia we’re going to be seeing the real and raw Indonesia the villages the cities the 
grasslands every single thing that there is to offer so come along with us on a long six-hour 
journey but a very beautiful one and Sophie is looking so beautiful as always i think 
this journey will probably be a little bit less beautiful than my wife which is 
already so high so yeah come along with us today and let’s have a great day exploring 
Indonesia’s trains again yay let’s go let’s go [Music] so similar to the station in Jakarta 
this uh station has ticket machines it has a little mud where you can get all your snacks 
and it also has some restaurants where you can buy food and everything as well oh it has 
this section yeah even has a section of bouncy council bouncy castle council a bouncy castle 
for the kids and then a whole heap of different uh food options as well and uh yeah this station 
is a little bit older than the other one that we were at yesterday but as you can see they’ve got 
Indomart here so Sophia and I actually haven’t had any breakfast yet so we might go into Indomart 
and get some stuff okay guys so we definitely need some water i might get two actually you 
can see here these ms have all different types of snacks different drinks and everything which 
is really good they don’t have too much fresh options other than bananas uh so maybe we might 
get a few bananas as well [Music] i got some snacks so I got some bananas i’ve got two waters 
and I’ve got us a whole heap of different bars maybe we’ll like this type of bar or maybe we’ll 
like this type of bar let’s see so we got some snacks snacks okay so now we’re going to scan 
our QR code and hopefully get through just fine thank you it’s so funny everyone speaks 
to Sophia in Indonesian yeah it’s true i should start uh learning the language 
yeah everyone thinks you’re Indonesian do I look like Indonesian a little bit so 
here on the screen it says 7:35 that’s us and we’re going to platform 4 so 
I think we need to go to platform 4 i I honestly have to say train travel 
in Indonesia so far has been really nice i’m so glad that we are in a scenic train cuz 
we are spending there like 6 hours right yeah 6 hours on a train is a long time we’re not 
going to be bored it’s definitely going to be scenic why is our training oh no it’s not 
it’s a different train i thought our train was leaving for a second okay so we just got on we 
had a little bit of trouble finding our train i wasn’t sure if this was the right one or not 
right yeah but uh this is it so 10 A is our seat uh just here so this looks pretty good okay so uh 
there’s no storage at the back so it seems to be that everyone’s storing their bags up the front 
here so uh let’s see if we can get some good bag storage hello yeah I know uh two bags please your

have easy access to the other compartments all done all done all good there was space here but 
I didn’t want the bags to roll around so are you ready for 6 hours of amazing window views even 
we can see the sky i like all the natural view i mean natural light coming in right the windows 
are so big this is just going to be awesome so the windows just automatically shut up the top oh now 
they’re opening wow i was wondering like how cool is that wow i had this thought like it wasn’t like 
as soon as picture but yeah wow on and off so they have a footrest as well which is pretty good and 
you can even I think maybe you can lower this more i’m not sure no I don’t think so that’s the lowest 
it goes we’ve got a seat pocket here for all your goodies uh also a power socket to charge all your 
laptop and everything we have a table that comes out of here which we’ll use later when we try the 
food and then our seat recines for the baby bag okay it’s moving we have officially started 
our 6hour trip and you can already see how beautiful this train is like oh my gosh going 
through the uh city and also the forest here on the side but uh once we get out of the 
city it is going to be so beautiful it’s already so beautiful i can’t wait so apparently 
we get a meal service later on as well so we’ll show you guys that and we’ll also give you a 
little tour of what this seat offers too but uh so far so good the lady behind us has 
introduced herself and all of the crew and uh yeah this looks to be a really 
beautiful trip so can’t wait [Music] okay so so far already we’re already seeing 
so many scenic stuff rice fields uh you know like big bodies of water we’ve also people farming 
we’ve also put on uh our scarf and jacket cuz it’s a bit cold with the AC uh but yeah so far so good 
looks like we’re going to get some water now which should be nice good morning thank you so much 
thank you wow how good is this so that’s our first water and then I think we’ll get some snacks later 
too so yeah so as you can see guys they’ve got all the farming and everything here honestly getting 
on a train is the best way to see a country I think cuz it’s so unfiltered it’s so raw you just 
see so much of a country i think it’s better than a tour really cuz you just get to see everything 
with your own eyes super cool i agree yeah [Music] thank you here we have hydro cocoa yes so a 
coconut water let’s give it a try how is it it’s like coconut water refreshing that’s 
good so nice they’re really looking after us water coconut water we’ll get food later 
on so this ticket was around I believe $30 or $40 um so quite a good price for what you get cheers cheers so Oh that’s so good [Music] thank 
you thank you sir wonderful Indonesia okay so we just got our box here and uh yeah let’s see 
what’s inside so we have a small bakery mix you want to show them what we’ve got 
so we’ve got bread and cheese nice bread again small bakery bread i think 
it’s sweet but it’s it’s like sugar bit of sugar on it right and what’s in 
here and we’ve got some more popcorn okay cheers guys okay popcorn m caramelized so good [Music] so so far I cannot fault this trip this is 
amazing so we’ve got food we’ve got water we’ve got coconut juice they just offered 
if we wanted they just asked if we wanted uh coffee hot chocolate or tea we both got tea 
and the views are amazing just passing through all these villages seeing the local people this 
stuff is hard to see if you just rent a car for a day and go outside the city because we’re 
really going deep into the country now and seeing parts you wouldn’t normally see on a 
tour so yeah so far this is just amazing so now we’re weaving our way up into the mountains 
and I think we’re really going to see quite a scenic view now uh this should be really good 
we’re right in the jungle which is so cool so what do you love most about the trip so far 
the nature like we can enjoy the view also the food i love the comfy uh seat everything yeah 
the seat’s pretty comfortable right like yeah that’s pretty good and the foot rest is nice as 
well you don’t feel congested no cuz it’s so open i feel like very relaxed and calm yeah it’s like 
meditative right and the best part guys is let’s put our seats back the best part guys is we can 
go all the way back and so yeah just sit back relax we can even look at the sky from here just 
look out the window i might put in some music soon actually yeah and just chill it’s going to be a 
nice lovely relaxing 6 hours hey guys so right now we’re just crossing across a massive bridge oh my 
gosh this is so cool everyone’s taking photos too [Music] wow thank you so much okay so we just got 
our hot tea after about maybe 10 minutes after us ordering which is really good so let’s give this 
a taste it’s hot but it comes with a nice straw so you can easily sip it this is so cool sipping 
a hot tea looking at a beautiful view like this i can’t let you go baby okay so we are now 2 
hours in and have about 4 and 1/2 hours left to go as you can see behind me Sophia is sleeping 
already so far so good i mean the interior of the train is just beautiful you got this marble 
effect uh the toilets are really clean as well and we also saw uh in the other classes as well 
in the train uh there’s a lot of different options so yeah I actually looked at my ticket and it 
ended up being $70 uh not $40 so a little bit more expensive but still for a 6-hour journey uh 
in the best class I think it’s definitely worth it um and also a hot tip is I recommend having 
the seats here at the very back of the train so that you can film and film like the whole rest 
of the train looks super good on camera so I definitely recommend to sit at the back i can’t 
let you go baby i just want to tell you that so one really cool thing on this train is that 
on this side of the train you can actually see volcanoes when you’re driving past and uh I think 
we’ve been past two or three already and you can see them out the window it looks super super cool 
um so actually tomorrow we’re going to do a tour where we get to see an active live boat volcano 
so I’m super excited for that as well [Music] okay so we just arrived into the little city of 
Tazic Malayia or I think that’s how you pronounce it uh in West Java and uh we’re about 2 and 
1/2 hours away now almost there so far it’s been super relaxing and I think we’re stopping 
for at least 5 minutes because this guy here is on our train and he’s having a cigarette 
break lots of people getting on here now so um yeah we might even see some new people on 
in our carriage as well [Music] so I’ve just came to the other elements and as you can see 
the toilet here is a lot more basic compared to the other one and you can see the other one is 
a lot better than this one so definitely first class is definitely recommended even with the 
toilet situation but this is still pretty nice okay guys now it is lunch time i didn’t even know 
we were getting lunch i thought those snacks were our lunch before i think we’re getting a hot 
lunch with like rice and meat and stuff i’m I’m hungry yeah same yeah thank you thank you 
thank you so much wow i was expecting to open this up to a sandwich not a cake of rice that’s 
really cool so what we have here guys we have rice we have some vegetables we have some 
fried chicken more vegetables here and some chili sauce so not too bad sophia loves rice 
so I think it’s good you have rice it’s good and you’ve got chili sauce as well extra hot 
wow okay we’ve got nice wooden cutlery which is good for the environment so we’ve got chicken 
veg and rice let’s give this a taste pretty good pretty fresh i like it yeah it’s pretty good [Music] so now we only have 20 minutes left until we 
reach there and it has just been an amazing journey like looking around looking at local 
people house and waving at everyone yeah it’s been great yeah what do you think it’s been super 
good it’s such a great 6 hours a long 6 hours but really really rewarding and yeah it’ll be nice to 
get to our hotel see what that looks like but uh yeah we’ve only got 10 minutes now until we get 
off few moments we will arrive at Yang Station the train completely stops thank you for choosing

our hotel now okay but but first tell me what was your favorite part my favorite part was when 
we were going over the bridges and like seeing the water blow and waving at the kids that was 
the best yeah mine was like looking uh around people’s houses that was really interesting like 
seeing the local houses yeah that’s true that was a good one okay so this is our hotel let’s 
go get checked in right guys so we just got uh to our hotel where we’ll be spending 
the next three days here in Yoga Carta so tomorrow we’re actually exploring a 
few things which you’ll have to see in our next vlog so please make sure you
