Absolutely blown away! 🤩✨

One of our favorite spots near Mt. Fuji was this Shinto worship site up in the hills above Lake Kawaguchi.

Yes, we hiked up here from town.
And yes, Stephenie hiked it in a dress. 👗 😂

To get here like we did, start at the bottom of the hill and look for Kawaguchi Asama Shrine. While it’s tucked into some enormous trees, you can’t miss it because the entrance is marked with an equally enormous torii gate. ⛩️

From here, follow the trail that leads upwards through the pines to a place called…

📍 Tenku no Torii

There are 2 torii gates here, and it’s certainly become an Instagram spectacle. But worth it!

Don’t want to hike it? Good news, a road does lead here too, so just navigate to the worship site.

Want to hike it though? We recommend taking the red Omni bus from Kawaguchi Station and hopping off near the Nishi River stop and strolling through town to get to the start of the hike.
