I stayed at a capsule hotel with direct access to the Osaka Expo! šŸ© CARGO Shinsaibashi

I stayed at a capsule hotel with direct access to the Osaka Expo! Hi! I’m here at the Osaka Expo. It’s packed with tourists and school trip groups. This is Yumeshima Station. The Expo entrance is right outside. Now heading to a capsule hotel with direct access from here! No transfers—just one train to the Expo. So convenient. The station is super clean. I’m staying at ā€œCARGO Shinsaibashiā€ tonight. It still smells brand new. Take the Osaka Metro Chuo Line from Yumeshima to Hommachi—direct ride, no transfers! So convenient. Let’s head to the hotel. It takes about 19 minutes to get from Yumeshima to Hommachi. You’ll pass Osaka Port Station—great for visiting Kaiyukan and Tempozan. That dome building is Osaka Pool. Pool in summer, skating rink in winter! We’ve arrived at Hommachi Station. Head to Exit 12 first. Found it! Turn right after leaving Exit 12. Then turn right at the YKK building. Now just walk straight. It’s about a 6-minute walk from Exit 12 to the hotel. Made it to CARGO Shinsaibashi! The exterior looks super stylish. Time to check in. Reception is on the second floor. The open staircase is such a vibe!(*’ω’*) Got my key card at the front desk. Picked up earplugs and loungewear near the elevator. The price was $47.31(tax included). The capsule area is super clean. Found my capsule! It’s an upper bunk, so I’ll need to climb up. Indoor slippers were inside the shoe box. Nice vibes! Bit of a Japanese-style feel? Height is standard, but it’s quite wide inside. Let’s check out the room. Capsules legally can’t be locked. Adjustable lighting. Light over the desk. One power outlet. Two USB ports. TV remote. Tissues. TV headphones. Wi-Fi is available, of course. Headphone jack for the TV. Small desk. Just enough space for a laptop. A thick floor cushion. Two hangers behind the door. And a security box below. Set a 4-digit code and press the lock button. To unlock, re-enter the same 4-digit code. There’s also a small storage shelf on the desk. You can watch TV too. Trash bin. Let’s check the bed. Springy cushion. Soft pillow. Light down blanket. About 8cm thick mattress. Smoke detector. Evacuation map. Hook for bags under the vent. Let’s check the amenities. Bath towel. Face towel. Body towel. Two-piece loungewear. The pants have pockets—so handy! Pockets on both sides. The floor’s calming with its Japanese-style pattern. Now let’s check out other facilities. First, the washroom. Very clean. The mirrors are super shiny! Face & hand soap. Cotton swabs. Paper cups for rinsing. Shaving wash and aftershave lotion. Hair styling gel. Hair dryer. Hand sanitizer. Toothbrush, razor, and comb. Paper towels. Shower room next door. Showers are super clean too. There’s a changing area as well. Shampoo. Conditioner. Body wash. Good water pressure. Next up, the toilet. The lid opens automatically—whoa! Impressive! šŸ‘ Toilets are spotless too. Seat cleaner is a nice touch. Of course, there’s a bidet. There’s a public bath on the 9th floor. Open hours: 3:00 PM–3:00 AM and 6:00–9:00 AM. There’s even an open-air bath. Now heading to the lounge. Here’s the first-floor lounge. There’s a cafĆ© too. Also a vending machine. You can use power outlets and USB ports for work. Microwave available too. Reception and another lounge are on the 2nd floor. Luggage storage is available. And rental lockers. Smoking room. Heading to Dotonbori for dinner, but first a quick stop at Amerikamura. About a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Haven’t been here since high school! Amerikamura centers around Sankaku Park (Mitsu Park), and is full of trendy shops for young people. This is Sankaku Park—the symbol of Amerikamura. It’s packed with young people. Now off to Dotonbori! About a 9-minute walk from here. Made it to Dotonbori! Still crowded with tourists, as always. The Glico sign is still super popular. So many signs everywhere! Maybe Dotonbori’s famous for its amazing food? You can even watch kabuki in this building. Tonight’s dinner: Yakiniku Like. They specialize in solo BBQ dining. My first time doing solo yakiniku. I’m excited! Ordering via touch panel. Each seat has its own water tap—nice! There’s a small smokeless grill at each seat. I ordered the Karubi, Tongue & Harami Set ($18.37 w/tax). They’ve got around five sauces. Here’s the ignition switch šŸ”„ Starting with the beef tongue. This is actually really fun! Doesn’t feel lonely at all. Yep, delicious! Next up—grilling the harami. A little chewy, but still tasty! Perfect with rice. Now for the karubi! Oops, I burned the onions. šŸ˜… The karubi was definitely the best! Solo yakiniku is actually fun! Nice to grill and eat at your own pace. Would totally eat here again. Thanks for the meal! Back at the hotel now. Time for a bath. That bath felt amazing. Time for dessert! Matcha crepe ($1.80 w/tax). Crepe filled with whipped cream and matcha chocolate. So soft and chewy—delicious! Pure happiness. Back to my room. This room is 1.5x wider than usual capsules—super comfy. Brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed. Getting sleepy… Good night. 😓 Good morning! Slept well, but you’ll want earplugs—some noise leaks in. Heading to the lounge. Enjoying some free instant coffee. They also had tea and miso soup. I’m fully awake now. The hotel’s direct access to Yumeshima for the Expo was super convenient. Plus, Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori are walking distance—perfect for sightseeing. The capsule is spacious, so even if you’re claustrophobic, it’s still comfortable. I’d definitely stay here again. Time to check out. That’s it for this video! Feel free to like šŸ‘šŸ» and leave a comment! Thanks so much for watching till the end!

This time, I stayed at *CARGO Shinsaibashi*, a capsule hotel with direct access to the Osaka Expo. You can get to Yumeshima Station—where the Expo will be held—without any transfers, making it a super convenient choice for Expo visitors. Plus, it’s within walking distance of Osaka’s top tourist spots like Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori, so it’s also perfect for sightseeing.

One of the standout features of CARGO Shinsaibashi is that the capsules are about 1.5 times larger than standard ones, so there’s no feeling of being cramped. The hotel also has a large communal bath and open-air hot spring, perfect for relaxing after a long day of travel.

The fact that you can stay in such a central location in Osaka for around 6,000 yen (prices vary depending on the season) is a huge plus. If you’re planning to visit the Osaka Expo or explore the city, I highly recommend giving this capsule hotel a try!
