Here’s my advice on anything JDM. Do your research. Figure out things like fluids, fluid capacities, what the engine is if you can source parts locally. If not, what’s your JDM parts connection so that if something breaks you can get access to it. The body and chassis itself need to be checked for rust as lots of JDM vehicles, if not taken care of properly or have been sitting for forever, may experience rust on frames which poses a huge safety risk. I bought a delica l400 series 2 and brought it to a market where they never previously existed. The only thing that you learn is that you have to pay to play. Otherwise, it’s totally worth it. I would potentially look at trading my Delica for one of these.

Are you going to use it as a fire truck? Then it might not work in different countries. If you’re buying it for fun then just research the engine and trans for major known issues.

I own a 1993 Toyota Hiace Fire Truck with a 2L-II 2.4L diesel engine. It’s absolutely fantastic. What information are you wanting to know?
