10 Day Japan Itinerary | Cherry Blossom | Budget Flights Hotels | Tokyo Osaka Nagano Kyoto Nara Fuji
[music] Hey guys so welcome back to my channel Pratik in Transit, in this video I will talk about Japan itinerary, so the first thing you should know before planning to go to Japan is to figure out the visa and I have made a complete detailed and simplified video for it Please have a look at it and after that you need to get a rough idea about itinerary and transportation so that you can plan your trip to Japan well, so now Coming to the itinerary this is the itinerary I followed, alternatively you group tokyo together and and Osaka together. Plus you can take other day trips instead of the day trips I took now starting with Day Zero, so Day Zero is the day when You have to take a flight from India to Japan but before coming to the airport You must do the important thing and that is to open Visit Japan dot web in your browser. and fill in your details, a QR code will be generated which will be useful in Japan and and if you don’t do this You may have to fill physical forms and the whole process may take a little longer. After that, upon reaching the airport, the same three processes will be completed, first submitting the luggage and then Security and Immigration and if fast track immigration has been approved you or you have done it then you can leave quickly without waiting in long queues. Our flight was of Japan Airlines and I will tell you about it at the end of the video. The flight was very comfortable. Well, our day zero was spent inside the flight itself. Now coming to day one. Day one because I had landed in Tokyo so I was going to visit Tokyo and in Tokyo I had covered these areas. First of all, when you land at the airport, some Do few things there itself like if you need to collect any pass like your JR pass or any regional pass then you can go to JR office and get it from there. And the from the machines you can take welcome suica card or normal suica card or you can get a registered suica card and if you want to get pocket Wi-Fi etc. You can also get that. Our international roaming recharge from Jio that was cheaper and That was enough for us, so we did not need to buy it after that. We went directly to the hotel by taking Tokyo Monorail which runs from the airport and After Resting a Bit and Having the Free Snacks There We Went to Our First Location and that is Sensoji Temple. Since it was Sunday, there was a little crowd at Sensoji Temple. But despite that it was a very good experience. And as soon as you come to Japan you get to see the cultural side and it is a good experience You will be entering Sensoji Temple through the Nakamise shopping street then that will also be covered and Kanon-dori street is nearby that is also for shopping and food, so you can explore that as well Now after Sensoji and eating and drinking in Nakamise shopping street you can go to Ueno Park or if you are fond of ceramics then you can go to to Kapabashi Hondori Street, but I went directly to Akihabara because that’s all the time I had. I went to Akihabara which is the electronics town there. So directly after Cultural Experiences, I went to the electronics side of Japan There are many game parlors around and many electronics shops which you can explore and buy from. We can enjoy in the game parlors there and then we directly came to the hotel and After arriving at the hotel, as it was 3:00 pm, check-in in Japan is done at 3:00 pm, We did our check in etc. and then took some rest, now It was about to be time for TeamLab Planets, so there is TeamLab Borderless and Team Lab Planets as well , so as we did not have much time in Japan, so we visited Team Lab Planets and It Was a Mind Blowing Sensory Experience. You should definitely go there, and you can easily spend 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours there So choose your time slot and check the timings before going and There is a vegan ramen shop inside the labs premises right in front of their entry gate The Ramen restaurant is a must try it, it is highly recommended but we could not enjoy it because we were late in leaving the team lab and by then it was closed. So, you must check the timings before coming here. Now coming to Day 2 So, I was very excited because we were going to Osaka but via Nagano and Nagano is One of the top 10 cherry blossom spots and Sakura spots in Japan. We went After mid-April, thus the cherry blossoms there are supposed to be very good And that turned out to be true, so we took the bullet train from Tokyo to Nagano After reaching there we directly went to Zenko ji temple and there the crowd was not even 10% of Sensoji temple, very peaceful, very serene, you must go there And then we directly went to Garyu Park, the place where Cherry Blossom I actually wanted to experience. So it took some time, around 45 minutes to reach the park And it was worth it. It was very beautiful, it’s really pretty and There were very few people there too, so you must definitely go there and if you are not there during the cherry blossom time, You can still experience the country side of Japan, thus, You can include Nagano in your itinerary. Now after visiting Garyu Park We went directly to Osaka and reached there around 10:30 PM. So, we directly checked in to our hotel, our hotel was Apa Hotels in the Shinshakai area of Osaka. So, Apa Hotels is a big chain of budget hotels in Japan so you can check it out. Coming to day three, First we had breakfast at a place in Shinshakai area where there is a Pax hostel There is a cafe where we ate good sandwiches, after that we took the train and reached Nara In Nara you can visit these places. So firstly after getting down from station we boarded a bus, And we reached Todaiji Temple, Todaiji Temple is located in Nara Deer Park itself. And there you will find Nara’s dears, you can feed crackers to them You can feed them and enjoy and you can go inside Todaiji Temple after buying tickets, you can go inside, there is a very big Buddha ji there statue there. So you must see it and then take a stroll around there. We went on foot to Kofuji Temple and spent some time at Kofuji Temple. We took photos etc. and from there we walked to our Nara station. The street we walked on was Sanjo Dori Street, it’s absolutely Pretty is very beautiful, you must go through that route, there are cafes and shops there too After that we came back to Osaka and there was a really good ramen shop near our hotel There was always a line there so we went there and ate ramen etc. that was our dinner. After that we came to our hotel and we concluded our day now coming to day four We went to Kyoto in 4th day. Now if one comes to Japan, one will have to go to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto. If you are a first timer. So, we went to Kyoto by train. First we Had breakfast at another cafe in Shinsekai, Cafe Du petit. It was quite good And after that we took the train and went to Kyoto. Now one can visit these places in Kyoto. So first of all we went to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and there we Spent a lot of time taking photos etc., after that from there there is temple trail where you can visit six to seven temples by foot. One after one keeps coming. The first one that comes there is the Jojakkojji Temple. Entry was not free so we did not go inside Jojakojji, after that there is a Nisonin temple, Then came a Danrin ji temple, we did not go inside that either, after that came Gioji temple and I had seen its photos on Google so we went inside, bought a ticket and it was Absolutely stunning and beautiful, this Gioji temple is a must visit. Later as we had less time, we did not go to the further temples and started from there. We came back through Bamboo Forest and reached Togetsukyo Bridge. On the way to this bridge there are a lot of cafes where we had a cloud cake it was very beautiful and then There is Arabica coffee shop here, I had coffee there as well, there are many shops and cafes and many more where you can sit in it and eat and drink, after that we took the train to Kyoto station From Kyoto Station we went to Fushimi Inari Taisha, this is the place where you can see the Torii Gates, which is quite famous and was actually quite good So after that we went to Nishiki market, it is a long market and on its sides Pockets have been made and in every pocket there are many food stalls where you can eat and drink so we went there, we ate and drank a little and then we left and then we headed back to our Hotel in Osaka, there are more things to see but we didn’t have time if you can stay in Kyoto for a day it would be best like there is Ninenzaka Street we can go there is a Nijo castle one can go there and more There are temples around where you can explore but now we had reached the hotel and After reaching the hotel and freshening up a little, we left to explore Shinshakai area You will find the Tsutenkaku Tower in the middle of the Shinshakai area. You can see it on the screen and then there are many good food places in Shinshika area There are outlets, you must explore them and they are very well decorated, you must be seeing on the screen how creatively it is decorated It was really a good experience and after that we found a shop there from Google and we ate ramen which we really liked and we came back to the hotel and our day ends here. Now coming to day five, on day five you are better off in Osaka and you can explore more within the place or you can take day trips like you can go to Hiroshima, etc. We went to Himeji Castle. Himeji Castle is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the 12 surviving castles in Japan, meaning there has been no renovations or re-touches after 1600s. It is as it is, it was not destroyed in any war or anything. So it is one of the surviving castles in Japan and it is absolutely beautiful to you must visit and another important reason for me to visit Himeji Castle was that A bullet train runs between them which is based on Hello Kitty theme so if you want ride the Hello Kitty Shanshan and see Himeji Castle then you can follow this itinerary And after that we went back to Osaka. As soon as we arrived in Osaka, we left for Osaka Castle which again is a very beautiful place, after exploring Osaka Castle we returned to our hotel and now after freshening up a bit we left for Dotonbori. If you have come to Osaka then you will definitely go to Dotonbori and Dotonbori is a different experience, there are neon lights everywhere, There is a canal going through the middle and Spiderman is visible there, then there is the Glico sign which is very famous, everybody stands there and gets their photos clicked and after that There are many food and drink options there, there is also a Mega Don Quijote in which There is a big wheel ride, you can go in that too, the line was very long so we skipped You must definitely go to Dotonbori. While walking you can also reach Shinsaibashi Market and After that to come back to Dotonbori. On the way you can go to a place called America Mura which is a little bit America It is inspired by America, then while visiting it you can come back to Dotonbori. There is a very famous cake called Rikuro, we stood in line there and bought that cheese cake and I ate it but I didn’t like it that much but you can try it too, after that We explored it a bit and then we searched on Google. for Soba noodles, so we searched and found a restaurant and there we had soba noodles. We ate and then went back to our hotel. Our Day Five ended here. Now Coming to Day Six, on this day we went from Osaka to Tokyo, so by the time we reached Tokyo It was 3:00 pm so we directly checked in to the hotel. Now we were staying in a APA hotel. We were staying in Shinjuku area and after checking in and after taking a little rest, we went out to explore the Shinjuku area. Kabukicho area and Shinjuku area are together so we first saw the Godzilla head was clearly visible from the road, the we moved a little further and reached a crossing. There we saw that 3D cat which is very famous, so we saw it too and took a photo of it. After that we went to an alley with small barbecue restaurants on both sides That alley is very well lit and beautifully made, its name is Omode Yokocho. I think I pronounced it correctly, so we saw it, and then we left from there Uniqlo and GU stores are in the Shinjuku area itself, so we shopped there Then there is another Don Quijote store there, we did some light shopping there too, then we went to our hotel to keep them, then after keeping them in the hotel, since everything was nearby we came back We came back to the Shinjuku area and there is Ichiran Ramen, it is a very famous chain there. We ate ramen there again and after that we went to Golden Gai There are lots of small cute bars in there, where the seating capacity is around Max 10 to 15 people, so it is built in every lane and it is a different kind of place. There is a vibe there so you must go there and after that we went back to our hotel. That was the end of for now coming to day 7, this day we covered the area of Shibuya We took a train from Shinjuku and reached Shibuya and here First of all we saw Shibuya Sky, we had booked the slot, you should Make a booking before coming to Japan, there was not much crowd at the time we went there, so we went straight to the top and took a lot of photos etc. The view from there was really good. From there you could also see Shibuya scramble below, so you can easily see that as well. So, it was a good experience on and all and after Shibuya sky we left We went to get some food and drinks and we went to Happy Pancakes the name of the place is A Happy Pancake and there are those jiggly pancakes which you may have seen and they are famous in Japan The pancakes available there were actually quite good, you get savoury pancakes and sweet pancakes both. So you must go there and after that We went to Harajaku to explore the market area a bit. After Harajuku we went for shopping at Onitsuka Tiger which is a Japanese shoe brand I wanted to buy shoes from here and after purchasing shoes we went to our hotel there. We kept our luggage, took some rest and then we left again in the evening for Shibuya and this time we went directly to Hachiko statue if you have seen Hachiko movie you will definitely come here and get your photos taken, so we saw Hachiko statue and after that we went to Shibuya Scramble which was nearby. Now it’s just a Massive crossing but it is a very big crossing so it will give a different experience Those who have seen Fast and Furious’ Tokyo Drift, a famous scene was shot there So many people remember that place from there and I also remembered it from there, so it was a good Experience We crossed there a couple of times after that we went directly to an Indian restaurant because we had been eating only Japanese food for six days and now We needed Indian food so we went there, ate and drank and then we left again we did a lot of shopping from Don Quijote that day like souvenirs and whatever Products were available, everything is available in Don Quijote and we forgot the time while shopping It was 1:00 in the night and the metro and trains there were closed till then. So, we had to come back via a taxi, which was very expensive so please Keep in mind the timings. Now coming to day 8, we had a lot of fun on this day That’s because we went to see the magnificent Mount Fuji and trust me it is a must do thing. So to see Mount Fuji you can go to Kawaguchiko and there you can see these places. I had booked buses from highwaybus.com before coming to Japan These are highway buses, I had booked them for going and coming back, so this bus which goes to Kawaguchiko station, we didn’t go there, there’s a stop before that its called Shimo Yoshida, we got down there, and from here The Chureito Pagoda is close by, which is located inside the Arakma Shagan Park, It is nearest from here so we got down here and we reached by foot We looked at the whole view for a long time and took photos etc. After this we went directly to Oshino Hakkai, for this we used train and bus combination and then we arrived at Oshino Hakkai which again is very beautiful You must be seeing on the screen, there are many such aesthetic places where You can roam around, in its main area where there are small ponds It was a bit crowded there and there was a food court as well, but we had gone by the opposite route, so we We found a lot of empty spots which were actually very beautiful, so you must visit here. And after this we went directly to Kawaguchiko Station and Buses run from here, you must understand that they are tour buses and they have different colour codes so we took the red bus and we went to Oishi Park and from there The view of Mount Fuji is very beautiful, there is a very big lake in front, which is Lake Kawaguchi the view was quite good, you must explore it if you have time So you can explore the whole lake area very well or else you You can also go to the other lake, the view from there will also be very good, so this day was very good, we felt very good after going there and after that we came back We reached Shinjuku and there we found another Indian restaurant and we ate there. Had dinner and then that was the end of our day now coming to day nine you can go on this day to Tokyo Disneyland. If you have visited Disneyland before then you can skip this one. You can also go to Disney Sea which is only in Tokyo. If you don’t want to go here then there are many other places. There are many other day trips you can do from Tokyo but I highly recommend that You come to Disneyland, it was a very good experience, Shinjuku is a little distance from Tokyo Disneyland but we reached easily via train and If you think there were a lot of line etc. then there was nothing like that. We were a little late. We did not reach early in the morning, so at the time we reached There was no line at all, we went in comfortably and then we spent the whole day here we took rides and when you buy tickets, you buy the tickets in advance then there is an app of Disneyland, please download it and through that you can You can explore all other things inside to know the complete map of where you have to go This shows that if you want to take priority pass then you can take that also and It was a beautiful experience, you must go and after that It started to rain lightly then we went to a place called Giza Karen this is a There is a luggage shop and since we had done a lot of shopping, we needed a luggage We bought a luggage from here, we had seen in many reels etc that this is good The place is good, the price is also good, so you can buy luggage from here So after taking the luggage we went back to our hotel directly now coming to day 10, on this day We had a flight in the morning so we obviously couldn’t roam around that day The plan was that we would go by train but we were a little late so we had to take a taxi. Which was a bit expensive but we reached on time and then after reaching the airport We had Japan Airlines flight. We completed all the formalities and we took the flight. And we came back to India so now let me tell you from where I booked flights etc. I used Sky Scanner and there in Sky Scanner you will see They list all the prices which are the cheapest and then they We will redirect you to the website and you can book tickets from Japan Airlines website as well. There are two or three websites for hotels etc. like agoda.com booking.com expedia, We had booked agoda, we got the cheapest deals there many times on booking.com We get cheaper rates sometimes on Expedia but that time Agoda we did all the booking from there. Now coming to budget, so your major expenses are of hotels and the other is of flights, so my ticket price was Rs. 55,000 for to and fro but flights start from Rs.30-32,000. I had a direct flight, now I am coming to hotels, so on an average it costed us Rs 8k per night and we booked only budget hotels like Hotel Tavinos and APA hotels, after that your major expense is that of transportation so we So I had taken a regional JR Pass called Hokuriku Arch Pass which cost me ₹17500 approx and on top of that we had got a Suica card recharge done of around ₹2000 to ₹2500, so that was also used almost in transportation, now talking about the attractions in Japan for example if you go to Disneyland then it will cost around ₹5700 approx per head and this cost fluctuates from day to day, so you should check that Shibuya Sky was available for around 1300 INR and this is also has slot wise prices Changes keep that in mind and on top of that, the cost of Team Labs was around ₹2800 We got it done from Team Labs website and the other two things we got done from Klook and And if you go to any temple, for example we went to Gioji Temple, so the price is Around ₹300 yen that is around ₹180 cost was around 1000 yen for Himeji Castle which is around ₹600 to ₹610 and after that we come to food, so on food Our almost total cost per head was ₹11000 to ₹12,000 including restaurants cafes And food stalls and around ₹2000 to ₹2500 costed our lawson and 7-11 7-11 in which we took water and snacks etc. and the additional cost on top of that That will be your shopping as you can do a lot of shopping there because of the Tax free shops should be added as well. And for visa and transportation navigation I have made separate videos about this which you will find in the playlist so do Check that out, there is very detailed and simplified information. You can see on your screen the itinerary I followed and it’s alternate version. And this was just a concise consice itinerary which I told you.
