Darley Street Market will open its doors in a month’s time following lengthy delays, and recent weeks have seen numerous vendors for the three-storey market announced.
And Bradford Council has now announced more traders, with new to the city businesses joining stapes of its existing markets.
Local Bradford business Sushi Hometown will be bringing their fresh sushi and sashimi alongside Japanese specialities like ramen, yakisoba noodles and bao buns, as well as authentic dishes from Nepal like Thukpa noodles and Momo dumplings.
Eat Like A Greek, a Hertfordshire based festival food truck company, is expanding their business and taking a stall at Darley Street Kitchen.
Their menu includes hot fluffy gyros, pitta wraps filled with homemade tzatziki, fresh salad and a choice of lamb, pork, chicken, halloumi or falafel.
Other traders include A&J Shoe Repair and Ann’s Haberdashery who will be both taking space in the Lifestyle Hall – the market’s non food floor.
Both are well established Bradford businesses who are moving from the Oastler Market.
Also moving from the Oastler Market are Dale Farm Foods who are famous for their award winning pork pies and cooked meats like ham, topside of beef, roast turkey and roast pork as well as prime bacon and sausages.
Budhi Man Rai from Sushi Hometown said: “This is my first time trading in a market, and we are going to do a bento style, bringing healthy and steamed food. Japanese and Nepalese cuisine authentic street food, with combination of sushi, hot food like ramen and katsu curry. And Nepalese street food like dumplings and chow mien style of stir fry noodles as well.”
George from Eat Like A Greek said: “We’re really excited to be coming to Darley Street Market to serve our authentic Greek street food. There is going to be a lot going on in Bradford and we’re excited to be part of its regeneration. We’re looking forward to sourcing our ingredients from the floor below and also working with other traders at the market.”
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: “Our traders offer something special for everyone. Excitement is building with every new announcement, and we can’t wait start welcoming people through the doors when we open.
“We’ve a packed weekend of events on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July to celebrate our opening.”
