【Nintendo Museum🎮KYOTO】Floor Guide&souvenir shopping♪2024.10. NEW Open!【JAPAN】

Hello! This is Matcha_Japan. This time I’m leaving Tokyo and coming to Kyoto. I’d like to introduce the Nintendo Museum in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture. It is a very popular facility both in Japan and overseas that opened in October 2024. It is a facility filled with the history of Nintendo and its play culture. I will introduce the overview of the facility, games, and souvenirs. Please watch until the end. First, how to get there. The nearest station is Kintetsu Ogura Station. Look for the train of this color. This line is called the Kintetsu Kyoto Line and connects Kyoto and Nara. You can get there from Kyoto Station without changing trains. It takes 20 to 30 minutes to get there from Kyoto Station. You can also get there from JR Ogura Station on the JR Nara Line, but it’s a little far from the station. Ogura is located in Uji City, and nearby is Phoenix Hall at Byodo-in Temple, which is depicted on the 10 yen coin. And Uji is also famous as a tea producing area. In particular, Uji matcha is one of the three major matchas in Japan. Head to the museum. Go out along the street and turn right. You will soon come to an intersection, so cross it. After crossing the intersection, you will see it a little further ahead. You have arrived at the entrance! You can enter the premises about 15 minutes before your reservation time. You will have to wait in front of the security gate until your reservation time. There are coin lockers on the left hand side from here. If you have a lot of luggage, it is convenient to leave it here. This is a map of the museum. The museum is divided into three parts. There are lines at the security gate. Hold the reservation QR code to receive your own admission pass. They will print Mario or your Mii. As soon as you enter the museum, the world of Super Mario spreads out before you. This is a photo spot, and the staff will take your photo. Take a photo of yourself posing as if you are coming out of a pipe or hitting a item box! You can see the goal flag in the distance. There are Super Mario characters on the tiles as well. Look for things like Jugem and mushroom. There were also coins! When you enter the entrance, you will be greeted by Toad. The staff will take your photo here as well. If you shake Toad’s head, he will talk. As soon as you go through the first floor, you will come to a waiting room leading to the second floor. Illustrations of various characters will appear. Did you find your favorite character? Here is an explanation of how to use the admission card. The admission card has 10 coins registered and can be used for games. Details will be explained later. The exhibition corner on the second floor cannot be introduced because photography is prohibited. Please visit and see it for yourself. On the second floor, the Nintendo Switch 2 was exhibited! It was said that photography of the Switch 2 was OK. I was able to see it before its release in June 2025. The screen is larger and clearer than the Switch. Peripheral devices were also on display. I’m looking forward to its release. Looking out the window, there are Pikmin here! I went down to the first floor. The first floor is a zone where you can experience “play”. After this, I will introduce some games, but if you don’t want to see them until you play them yourself, please skip the chapter. This is a terminal that checks the remaining number of coins. I lined up to play Zapper & Scope SP. Toy guns made by Nintendo are on display . It seems that you aim at a target on a painting with a pistol. Next to it is a bottle. The performance of the bottle breaking is interesting. This is Zapper & Scope SP. Choose your favorite from two types of guns. Aim and shoot enemies in Mario’s world. Up to 13 people compete. Four coins are required. Finally, the results are announced. The top three are displayed on the screen with gold, silver, and bronze guns. Now, it’s your turn. You’re choosing a gun. Next is practice. This time I chose the Super Scope. Let’s start! I was in third place! I got a bronze medal. Next, I came to the Big Controller corner. The Nintendo 64 is popular. There is also the Wii and SNES(Super Famicom). I chose the NES(Famicom). Two coins are required per person. Two people play together. It’s difficult to coordinate the two people’s breathing. Love Tester SP Ultra Hand SP After thinking about how to use the remaining coins, I decided to play Zapper & Scope SP again. There are successive controllers lined up. This is the Game & Watch SP. You play a palm-sized game with your whole body. I came to the Nintendo Classic corner. You can play NES, SNES and Nintendo 64 games. A nostalgic controller! I decided to play Nintendo 64. I chose Mario Kart 64. Leaving the game corner, I headed to the shop. This is a museum diorama. There are many goods that can only be purchased here. This is the library. The name of the shop is Bonus Stage. Polpolone in the Animal Crossing. 1,458 yen It is cute. This is an original item of the museum. This is an acrylic key chain. This is a magnet. You will have to open it to find out what is inside. This is a big cushion in the shape of a controller. This is a very popular item. This is in the shape of a Nintendo 64. This is a Wii remote. This is a key chain that plays the game startup sound. Again, you don’t know which one you will get. You can purchase up to two items per person. This is a cookie. 1,620 yen. Next is a key chain in the shape of a controller. There are two types, and this one is from 1983-1999. It costs 1,320 yen. This is the 2000-2017 series. Items related to each hardware are lined up. The Nintendo DS was also a big hit! Do you know VIRTUAL BOY? There are also T-shirts of software. The Disk System is also nostalgic. Clear files are 550 yen each. Short-sleeved T-shirts are 6,600 yen each. Long-sleeved are 7,040 yen. Flake stickers 935 yen. There are a lot of stickers. There were also Splatoon items! Fingerboard 1,320 yen. This was a Nintendo Switch. The cafe is called “Hatena Burger”. I couldn’t make it in time for the last order, so I will only show you the inside of the store. Last order is at 18:15. The museum is open until 7:00 p.m., so if you want to eat, go early. You can make your own hamburger or order a special drink. I’ll definitely stop by next time! Next, I’ll show you how to make a reservation. Reservations are made by lottery from three months before your visit. If there are vacancies within two months, you can make a reservation on a first-come, first-served basis. At this time, there were vacancies on June 19th. There are vacancies between 11:00 and 11:30, so you can make a reservation immediately. The last entry is between 16:00 and 16:30. The museum is open until 19:00, so if you can make a reservation early, you can enjoy it a lot. If you miss the lottery, please check frequently. At this time, the lottery was held in August. Select the day and time you want to visit. Information showing the degree of congestion will be displayed. As expected, the morning is popular because you can enjoy it for a long time. Apply for the lottery while considering the lottery odds. You can apply for up to three choices. We won from 16:00 to 16:30, so we didn’t have enough time. We recommend that you go early. I hope everyone wins! The information you play is recorded in your Nintendo account. Register a Nintendo account in advance and link your entry information. Zapper & Scope SP score and medals. This is the second record. I also got third place the second time. I want to try again. This is a record of the Big Controller. It automatically takes photos while you play. It takes three photos, so download them. Please note that the record is for 30 days. As a bonus, I stopped by Kappa Sushi near Kokura Station. It’s a fun conveyor belt sushi restaurant where the entrance, ordering, and payment are all automated. I recommend using it when you have time before entering the museum. I ordered the Uji Matcha Pudding Parfait and the Uji Matcha Pudding. What did you think of this video? I introduced the popular Nintendo Museum. It’s a facility that is difficult to make a reservation at, but it’s highly recommended for people who like games. I’ll post a link to the museum in the description.
