4K From Tokyo To Mount Fuji 🇯🇵 one day trip experience
Archwalks Presents from TOKYO to MOUNT FUJI This extra episode will be not much about architecture but about a very special part of Japan – Mount Fuji. About going towards big dreams and not giving up. About this incredible and so beautiful world aroud us. EXPERIENCE ARCHITECTURE TOKYO, 7:00 am We start one-day trip from Tokyo to the northern foothills of Mount Fuji – to the town called Fujikawaguchiko. We travel by train on the Fujikyu Railway, the whole journey takes about 3 hours. This Japan Archtectural Tour was our dream for many years. To see Fuji-san from its foothills was even beyond it. FUJIKAWAGUCHIKO Fuji-san train design Mount Fuji is an active stratovolcano with an elevation of 3,776.24 m. It is the highest mountain in Japan. Mount Fuji is one of Japan’s “Three Holy Mountains”, It was added to the World Heritage List (UNESCO). From the 14th century, artists created large numbers of images of Fujisan and between the 17th to the 19th century, its form became a key motif not only in paintings but also in literature, gardens, and other crafts. For us, the main inspiration was Hokusai’s prints “36 Views of Mount Fuji”. We arrived to the Fuji Five Lakes area, on the lake Kawaguchi. The area is a popular tourist and resort destination. The five lakes were formed hundreds of years ago by lava flows which dammed up rivers during Mount Fuji’s multiple eruptions. Fujikawaguchiko town seems very calm and charming. With gorgeous and breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. But in 2024 the town experienced over-tourism which was disruptive to its inhabitants and the environment. So, it is our responsibility, while travelling, to do every thing consciously, to respect rules of the place, to be sustainable as much as we can, and to leave the place we visiting clean after. In this way, everyone can benefit from mutual respect. We are rushing a bit as the sunset is very early in winter. Walking along the lake shore and enjoying this magic view. Like on Hokusai’s ukiyo-e prints. With the clould resting on the neck of the mount. Being here. Being now. Being a part of the wolrd around. Chasing the sunset. Understanding how unique every moment is. And we want to try to go up by the cable car before the dark. We did not know yet that it will be so beautiful up there. Local guys, winter lake and gorgeous mountains. Our first ever eki stamp. Eki stamps are collectible, rubber ink stamps found at train stations in Japan. Their designs typically feature imagery emblematic Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway This cable car lifts up to near the peak of Mount Tenjo – – the observatory with a view of the lake, Aokigahara forest, and Mount Fuji. Arriving to a height of 400 m. Starting to see these incredible colours of the sunset. Hiking trails start from the observatory to go down to the lake and up to the other mount. And the magic starts. With no filters. The fog around Mount Fuji – exactly like on the Hokusai’s prints. Layers and layers of the depth of the perspective. And then it became pink. Here, at the top of this mount, we would like to leave a memory note for you and also for ourselves – go towards your big dream, do not give up if you feel that it is important for you, do something today to get closer to it, even a little step. And do it with love in your heart. We are going back to the lake shores. Night views are also great. Even if it is getting very cold. Dinner at the local restaurant. Night atmosphere of this mountain town. It is time to go home… but. We have prepared one more thing for this episode… 3,… 2,… 1 All episodes in 2 minutes:
