ASAHIKAWA | Place to see and things to do!
hey guys I’m Haley and I’m Kyle and we’re here in Japan with Jets Australia we’re currently in Tokyo where we flew direct from Brisbane we got two days here before heading north to Hokkaido the snow capital so excited [Music] [Music] [Music] we’ve made it made it to snowy Asahikawa we’ve made it to Asahikawa up in the north island of Hokkaido we took a direct flight from Tokyo with Jet Star Japan asahikawa is known for its ski fields it’s a really snowy town as you can see in case you guys didn’t know Jet Star actually do a lot of domestic flights to lesserknown areas like Asahikawa Okinawa and Saporro this is our second time in Asaha we love it here we love the skiing here but we’re going to go get some ramen cuz we’re really hungry and we’re really cold when it’s -5° there’s only one thing that can really sort you out and that’s a big bowl of ramen we’re here at Ramen Senukco this has been highly suggested for ramen let’s go enjoy a bowl [Music] and all that food for the equivalent of 35 Aussie dollars that would be 70 bucks in Australia day one in Asahikawa we are on our way to Kimui Ski Links which is the one of the best resorts ski resorts around Asahikawa we came here last year and we loved it so good so good we just had we’ve had a car for the 4 days that we’re here to get around um so we’re just driving from our hotel 30 minutes to get to the ski resort and the sun is out it’s a beautiful day so excited take you guys with us can’t wait [Music] we’re here now we’re checked in we’ve got our lift passes we’ve got our board higher lift passes are about 5,300 yen each which is about 50 bucks each and then the board higher was around $8,000 which is $80 each that’s for a snowboard boots and helmet and for Haley it’s skis poles and helmet so pretty good value compared to other places in the world really easy to get your tickets as well boom right there self-service and then hire right there takes like 10 minutes all up you’re looking good [Music] heat up here [Music] one of the best things about Chamilleon is the lunches that you get this pork catch curry I’ve been dreaming about since last year it is Hold it up show us i need to see it the equivalent of Australian $12 haley got a pork cutlet meal with miso soup and rice yum outstanding so you can eat really cheap here and the food is so good the food is really good [Music] so for dinner tonight we’ve come to a famous yakuri restaurant here in a cara i have to apologize i don’t know the name of it but we’ll write it in the corner we’ll be like um what do you mean the name’s behind you just read it uh yeah so I can’t read Japanese unfortunately the year 4 um in primary school they didn’t teach me enough all I was touching on the kale desk but anyway that’s for another that’s for another vlog um not sure the name of it but we’ll go take it it’s a Yakuri restaurant which is basically like a Japanese chicken barbecue we’ve heard lots about it it looks amazing online so let’s go and eat some chicken [Music] akuri is basically a barbecue chicken restaurant so of course we had to get the barbecue chicken and it looks and smells elite let’s do it you’re probably wondering what there is to do in this area when you’re not skiing well this morning we’re starting here at Landstand Coffee it looks so cute dying for a coffee it’s freezing cold but today we’re going to be doing some fun things we’re starting with coffee let’s go in [Music] that’s a real treat one of the most popular things to do in a Sahikawa is come to the zoo it’s really famous for its penguin march which happens at 11:00 a.m and 2:30 p.m we have just witnessed it and they are so cute oh my god they’re so cute but this zoo also has a range of animals here we’ve got polar bears we have seals we have tigers we have array tanks we have giraffes we have so many animals and it’s just one big loop but yeah definitely come check it out [Music] so we have driven an hour from Asahikawa to a really beautiful attraction called Mingle Terraces it is kind of known for like village hut shops but it’s like a winter winter wonderland and it’s looking a bit busy but I hear it’s beautiful so let’s check it out [Music] sadly our time in Asahikawa has come to an end we’re at the airport on our way to Tokyo but I hope you guys have enjoyed the vlog we’ve had so much fun if you’re looking for a cheaper and quieter alternative to snowboarding and ski in Japan then we highly recommend coming to Asai we hope you guys enjoyed the vlog we love making it see you on the next one bye bye
