I Just Landed in Japan and Everything Went Wrong

[Music] this place is a sacred ground for travelers the holy land of cuisine a historic hot spot and to many in the west an exotic fever dream where anime was born beer flows like water and uh certain other web-based interests were discovered yeah well we’re not here for that we’re in Japan i came here solo to figure out what makes this place so endlessly fascinating is it the vending machines that sell everything the toilets that talk to you or is it something deeper from Tokyo’s Electric Madness to Osaka’s late night soul this is not a sightseeing trip it’s a weird wonderful slightly unhinged deep dive into Japanese culture through the eyes of a curious guy with a camera and a questionable sleep schedule welcome to the series [Music] today we’re going to Japan right now i’m going to try and see if I can get uh a free upgrade let’s see if United can hook a boy up i I have no idea what’s going to happen let’s go okay what can I do for you how’s it going so I heard United was the best airline and could potentially offer a free upgrade to business class what’s your last name uh Reuben r U V I N [Music] Dylan yes that is me you are a basic economy we don’t upgrade basic damn sorry is there any way to upgrade it at all like No they won’t let us no help to the peasants i see all right sorry it’s okay it did not work but you always got to try nice we have officially landed we have a few missions that we must accomplish first we need to get some good hard cash Japanese yen then maybe get to the Airbnb and finally find some amazing food cuz I’m starving of course we’re starting off the journey lost cuz that’s what it means when you visit Japan for the first time is you get lost so we’re trying to find the right train to get on see the the big mess up that I made is landing in Narita i soon after realized I should have landed in I think it’s called Hokkaido because Narita is an hour and a half away from everywhere [Applause] [Music] excuse me you know uh I’m trying to get to over here okay this is a blue line sir they have green and blue so I start in the blue line okay all right thank you look for the blue line he says look for the blue line that looks like it’s over here this is so crazy [Music] all right it doesn’t like me i don’t know what’s up i’m just going to pay again did that work what is going on i paid over there but I don’t I don’t know is this working or to go here you need a skyiner you need a skyin ticket where is that how do I get that ticket to buy a skylliner ticket where do I buy that outside outside okay all right thank you damn it now I have to go get a Skyliner ticket adrenaline is pumping to the extreme dude that bro is there another way this is a long line this is a really long line i’m not doing that hell to the no dude I might just take a taxi or do I just bite the bullet what do I do let’s see is Uber work here 30,000 yen how many US is 30,100 yen $219 that’s a lot okay I’m not doing that i think I have to get online cuz I’m not spending $200 on a freaking taxi to get to Shinjuku but I might have to get some food at one of these places there’s a Starbucks here really wanted my first Tokyo or first Japanese meal to be good so maybe I hold out here’s the line i think this line’s going faster than I thought should have jumped on it when I saw it before but I don’t want to wait all my options dude this kid is helping me out right now hello just one ticket for the Skyliner so at the Skyliner 279 your seat number five got the ticket now I just got enough the next thing up please make sure to purchase a ticket before [Music] [Music] target [Music] [Music] okay need to go to the mate first gate what jesus Christ all right about to breathe got 10 air for the first time going to be [Music] outside wow we made it look at that oh there’s that seven that’s where we’re going oh yeah baby oh my god look at this freaking paper that’s sick at this point in the journey if you can’t tell already I was basically delirious if you remember our missions earlier um well I’m here in the 7-Eleven and uh I’m about to get some cash so that’s part one of the mission i decided at that point that my bags were just way too heavy and that it was time to go to the Airbnb instead of looking for some delicious bitching Japanese food i did end up eating later that day and linking up with my friend who just happened to be traveling to Japan around the same time I was thank you so much for watching this video and getting to the end if you haven’t already I would hugely appreciate a sub from you stay tuned for the next video that is going to involve uh checking out more of Tokyo and all of the amazingness that Tokyo has to offer all right see you

Japan travel vlog 2025 — I just landed in Tokyo, Japan for the first time as a solo traveler. This is my raw, unfiltered arrival experience: Narita Airport confusion, train chaos, culture shock, and everything in between. If you’re curious what it’s really like arriving in Japan with zero sleep and no plan… this is it.

This isn’t your typical polished travel video. It’s real, gritty, and shot like a documentary — the kind of series where you feel like you’re on the ground with me.

🎥 Shot on: DJI Osmo Pocket 3
📍 Location: Tokyo, Japan
🎞️ Style: Documentary travel / Vice-style / Bourdain-inspired

Subscribe if you’re into immersive, human-centered travel stories. More from Japan coming soon — including nightlife, locals, and some moments I probably shouldn’t have filmed.
