As with previous Prada Mode editions in cities such as Miami, Paris, Shanghai, Moscow, Dubai, Tokyo, and Abu Dhabi, the Osaka installment continued the brand’s mission to fuse fashion, art, and architecture into immersive experiences. Before the public unveiling, a multi-day preview was held on the island, offering a look at her work in its original context and her vision for the future. As a part of the collaboration, Prada will donate a permanent pavilion designed by Sejima, located in the Inujima Life Garden.

On opening day, the event highlighted two insightful conversations, the first discussion, “Cities Are Made by People,” included renowned architect Tadao Ando, who shared his philosophy on architecture and urban development. He presented a range of his projects from Japan and around the world, including work in his hometown of Osaka. The second conversation, titled “The City of Chengdu, The City of Tokyo,” brought together architects Liu Jiakun and Ryue Nishizawa for a rich dialogue on their individual approaches to urban design, with a focus on their work in Chengdu and Tokyo.
