Fans of Dakota Johnson and Michelle Zauner are going to be very happy.
The Zauner led indie rock band Japanese Breakfast has released a brand new song for Johnson’s new romantic comedy, “Materialists.”
Here Is Someone
“My Baby (Got Nothing At All)” features the lofty voice of Zauner crooning over a lover who wants her as much as she does him.
The song is on “Materialists” soundtrack which also features the original score from Daniel Pemberton. The two other original songs on the album include the Baby Rose led “I’ll Be Your Mirror” and “That’s All.” The former is a cover of Nico and the Velvet Underground while the latter is a Nat King Cole Cover.
Japanese Breakfast is currently on tour following the release of their fourth album, “For Melancholy Brunettes (and sad women)” that came out in March. They’re currently in Japan and will head to South Korea before returning to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for Summerfest. Then it will be off to Europe for another leg of the tour.
Jimmy Fallon Big!
“Materialists” is director Celine Song’s new A24 movie following a professional matchmaker (Johnson) caught between her ex (Chris Evans) and her new lover (Pedro Pascal).
The movie is just Song’s second after the Academy Award nominated “Past Lives.” While the film didn’t take home any prizes, it did leave a mark on award season. Stars Greta Lee and Teo Yoo were lauded for their acting. Meanwhile, the movie was put on several “Best Of” lists.
“Materialists” comes out on June 13th.
