Travel Tips ➡️ Shibuya Crossing Etiquette ⬅️ Japan Tokyo Walking Tour
just don’t do this in japan traveling to japan is fun but when tourists did something that local japanese have to tell them to stop then that can be a problem some really thoughtful people left this comment break dancing across the street i don’t see a problem with that that’s not getting in anybody’s way if there’s a red light that break dancing was sick though if you think that is sick please stay home and if you believe that such main character syndrome works well in a foreign country please also stay home there are increasing numbers of people running to the middle of scramble crossing for taking pictures and videos it is completely fine if people walk across the street and take videos or pictures even local japanese tourists do that however the problem is that people are running to the middle of the crossing and then stop there to take pictures some even stop in the middle to do dancing videos many times when they realize the traffic light are going to change they have to run back the street from the middle of the crossing that way can cause safety issues for drivers

Why is it a problem?
– There are other town in Japan where Japanese complains the tourist blocking the street that causes many safety issue. https://edition.cnn.com/travel/fujikawaguchiko-japan-photo-blocking-barrier-intl-hnk
– The increasing numbers of tourists stopping in the middle of Crossing is similar and causes both people across the street safety and drivers safety. Why? Many times tourists don't know how fast the traffic light changing when they only focus on taking pictures or videos in the middle of the crossing, when they realize, it is late and they have to run back to the sideway. The cars might not be able to see these people still on the street.
foreigners please don't destroy the culture and land.
Just apply hefty fines for disturbing traffic and the problem will be solved.
I truly dislike this area Shinjuku. It's overrated, too many crowds, many strange folks including from their land, many weebs…
Asking these type to please stay home is a wasted action and words.
Be respectful!!
Everywhere is not America, not every culture is like America. If it's not your country respect that it's not your country. Not your place to make or break the rules.
main character syndrome .. spot on ..
I do not get it, I behaved in a decent way and got a Police Comendation, which is not that great but not bad, I mean just use common sense and do not do stupid things and be Civil, I got no issue in Japan except with my Toxic Work mates and most were foreigners, so who knows but still had no beef with Japanese People, just behave.
