Staying in Hakone Japan for 1 Night
We stayed in Hakone for 1 night, here’s what we did We got the Hakone Freepass which lets you have unlimited travel throughout the Hakone area This includes the trains, buses, sightseeing cruise, and cable cars Definitely worth doing but we were exhausted and still suffering from jetlag We took the cable car up to Jigokudani (the Valley of Hell), famous for it’s black eggs There’s quite a nice view from the cable car and at the Valley area to see Mt Fuji After a day of exploring and using the different types of transportation we were exhausted We stayed at Hakone Yutowa Everything was very clean as usual for Japan except the shower door which had a lot of water stains. No big deal The hotel provided us with Japanese robes that we could wear while in the hotel which was pretty neat We had opted to have the dinner buffet at the hotel since a lot of nearby shops and restaurants closed quite early Very yummy There was an outdoor patio which had a little fire as well as a place to soak your feet After a long arduous journey the feet soaking was very nice The lounge area had free snacks which were pretty good too Charlotte decided to go visit one of the hotel’s public baths What a beautiful morning Another round of robe wearing, this time for breakfast! Similar buffet style to the dinner with both Western and Japanese options Getting ready to go to the Hakone Open-Air Museum It’s essentially an outdoor art gallery but they also have indoor installations as well The combination of nature and art was really peaceful On our way back we stopped by a 711 to get some quick lunch The train was super packed but we managed to snag some seats close to the front of the train
