Hey all,
I have a st215 caldina and recently had an idea of getting some imitation japanese plates made for it, BUT then I had a better idea of what if I got its original registration from Japan made up as display plates for meets or photo shoots.
So my question is, is there a way for me to find out what its registration was while in Japan?
Car was imported to australia in 2012, so it spent a fair bit of time in Japan before it was brought over to Australia

You MAY be able to find the info through the online ROVER portal. But that will probably just show VIN etc – not the original plates from JPN as they would have been removed prior to being shipped. I thought about this also for my 300ZX that came over – but no such luck!
Do you mean the license plates? Every owner would likely have had their own number. One can’t just request and obtain this info.
Depending on it’s importation process, the original buyer/exporter may still have the information, does mostly depend on how they categorize and order their stock, but stock number,VIN,rego/plate,year,model and chassis codes are all usually there.
Sick Dina by the way! These things are so slept on, ticks so many boxes, I’ve got 3 of them lol
