For anyone who hasn’t gone. The gorge and area around is amazingly beautiful, but the boats were 100% tourist trap. They turn everyone loose all at once and it’s complete chaos because most people don’t know how to paddle properly, and you barely have time to explore before you have to head back. Also, the Takachiho Kagura act was pure torture (for me at least).
