Exploring Goro’s Stone House & Anpanman Area in Furano | Hokkaido | Japan | 4K HDR

Air temperature 17.1°C / 62.78°F This time, I leave Asahikawa for a bit to explore some sightseeing spots in Furano. Furano City is located near the center of Hokkaido and, along with its surrounding areas, is one of the Hokkaido’s most representative tourist destinations. Since 1991, Furano and its surrounding areas have been selected in several rankings, including ‘Japan’s 100 Most Beautiful Village Landscapes,’ and the city consistently ranks in the top 10 in surveys of municipal attractiveness. Since this walk around Furano turned out to be quite long, I’ll be sharing it in two videos. In this video, I explore Goro’s Stone House and spots related to Anpanman. Goro’s Stone House is a location used in the filming of the famous Japanese TV drama series “Kita no Kuni Kara”, which aired for many years starting in the 1980s. It’s a familiar place that anyone who has seen the drama would surely recognize. Anpanman is the main character of a Japanese picture book series for children, which has also been aired as a long-running TV anime. He is such a well-known character in Japan that it’s said there is hardly anyone who doesn’t know him. Both of these spots are located a bit away from the center of Furano, so if you plan to visit them during your trip, you’ll need to arrange transportation in advance… I’m not sure how well-known ‘Kita no Kuni Kara’ or ‘Anpanman’ are outside of Japan – or in your country, but if you’re familiar with them and have a chance to visit Furano, these are definitely places worth stopping by. We’ll arrive at our first destination, the Stone House, in about one more minute… I hope you like it… Goro’s Stone House First, we need to purchase an ticket.
There is a single ticket that allows you to visit just the Stone House, and another ticket that includes access to other nearby filming locations from ‘Kita no Kuni Kara’. In addition to the Stone House, there are also the ‘House Made of Collected Materials’ and ‘Rokugo Forest’ nearby. If you plan to visit those as well, it’s reasonable to purchase the combined ticket. It’s unexpectedly far after entering… “What is Goro’s first name?”
1. Kuroiwa
2. Kuroita Which way should I go…? “The First House” At the Anpanman Shop, you’ll find a wide variety of Anpanman-related goods such as toys, lunch boxes, snacks, picture books and so on, so you’ll have no trouble finding souvenirs. Next to it is Aunt Jam’s Sweets Workshop. While there isn’t a character named Aunt Jam in Anpanman, it was likely named after Jam Uncle, a character who does appear in the series. I try croissant catalana… Fluffy croissants is filled with a block of ice cream. The second floor of the shop is an exhibition area dedicated to Anpanman—or more precisely, to its creator, Takashi Yanase. There was a food truck serving Poutine, a dish that originated in Canada, so I decided to try. Waiting for the poutine… Next time, I’ll introduce more sightseeing spots in Furano.
Look forward to it!
