First Class on Indonesia’s Fastest Train (Jakarta to Bandung)
this is Indonesia’s highspeed train let’s go bandon we are [Music] coming as you
can see that is a cool train right there thank [Music] [Applause] you oh there
we go 347 [Music] we’re now in another city in Indonesia put our bags down now time to
find a [Music] seat so this here guys was the highspeed line we were just on let’s go salom Pagi or G and good morning guys from the
first highspeed train station here in Indonesia this train station was built by the Bel and Road
Initiative from China and today we’ll be going from Jakarta to Bang on the highspeed train going
350 km per hour which is absolutely insane and today’s train is called Whoosh whoosh yeah that’s
right so we’ll be whooshing through the country this uh train used to take around three hours
on their slow version but nowadays it’s only 1 hour so come along with us today as we experience
Indonesia’s first highspeed rail and yeah see the countryside it should be fun come along with us
and let’s go let’s go okay so I also just learned that uh this train doesn’t actually take an hour
it only takes half an hour wow which is even more crazy so from 3 hours of travel time down to
half an hour is just That’s insane insane and it’s so good to see highspeed rail in Indonesia
uh even Australia my country doesn’t even have any highspeed rail in the entire country yet which is
just crazy so first impressions of this terminal is pretty new guys and it definitely has a lot
of different things you have shops here uh you have like a Subway different types of eeries you
even have a Gojack lounge as well if you want to order go Jack taxi here you can get your tickets
from the ticket machines it’s pretty nice and then also over here you have a prayer room you have
your departure lounge one thing I forgot to tell you guys is we are going I almost said flying then
we are traveling I should say in uh in first class which should be epic so our ticket was I believe
around $35 uh which is pretty good for a first class experience and as you can see here as well
the uh the entrance to the LRT the light rail is from here so you can even get a taxi here or use
the public transport from the city center enough talking let’s get on this train okay so first
things first we need to go through security which is quite good they’ve got an airport style
security which is quite nice you know you know that things are going to be safe once you get
inside but even upstairs now there is even so much more food places to eat at which is great all of
these I think are Texas chicken i think that might be American but I think this one is Indonesian let
me know in the comments whoosh whoosh so they even have whoosh official merch which is so cool hello
wow so guys you can tell the country is really proud of this uh this project this is how I roll
whoosh i just love the name it’s so fun wow all little even kids whoosh t-shirts so good you want
to get a whoosh hat wow pink pink whoosh whoosh whoosh so after coming through security you can
see that the layout here and the whole building is so nice and not just the train and the rail was
built by the Belton Road Initiative by China but also the entire station which you can tell because
it’s just beautiful and to be honest anything that China builds is going to be big and beautiful the
2Bs and just here we can actually see the train itself uh which is absolutely a uh a mega fast
bullet train the model we’re going on today is the Fujing and uh this is it right here just in
a smaller version so we’ll be in first class so I say this will be where we’re sitting here right
here oh that’s where we’re sitting y okay so yeah you can see here that they have a lot more room
compared to the uh ones back here so yeah should be fun i love bullet trees i’m so excited right
[Music] woohoo okay so uh we’re because we’re in first class we’re going to the VIP room so we’ve
got our QR code here let’s scan this in hello hello oh I scan this okay scan okay thank you hey
you’re our time sure oh you’re you’re first class oh first class okay i don’t even need a scan
guys i just go straight in so here we are the VIP room hello great thank you wow this is the
uh first class lounge guys pretty pretty cool nice big lounge hello so they’ve got some uh some
water here and tea and coffee and a few different snacks as well so yeah this would be a good spot
to relax we’ve got about 25 minutes now before we board so spacious yeah right it’s huge it’s
beautiful [Music] okay so they just called us for the train are you ready i’m so ready let’s do
this okay so this is our train and as you can see it is long really long and brand new everyone
keeps on like speaking in Indonesian with me yeah everyone thinks you’re Indonesian even when
they came to tell us the train was ready they’re like talking to Sophia in Indonesian she’s like
“I don’t understand i’m not Indonesian.” It’s so funny right okay hopefully they’ll let
us take a photo of the front of the train as you can see that is a cool train right
there wow look at that let’s go let’s go okay so Sophia and I will be here and our friend
Matt is here i’m so excited so we’re in 1 A and C these seats look absolutely amazing so big right
oh my gosh wow this is so cool you want the window seat you have it really a Thank you that’s
nice so you can see here they’ve got a little advertisement this whole compartment is uh is just
to ourselves from here to here so it’s about 1 2 3 4 5 five big steps so that’s like maybe 7 m it’s
like a private jet but on a train okay guys so we’ve just sat down um and we’ve got a few more
minutes before we leave i’m pretty sure it will leave exactly on the minute like most Chinese
trains do but this is Indonesia so it may take a little bit longer but no worries but as far as
the room goes we have a lot of room so we’ve got the button here to push your seat back wa where’d
you go here and we also have this oh yeah nice footrest and we’ve got a little pocket here for
all your necessities and if you fold it over you can put it put your feet on here which is cool too
so no matter what way that’s pretty good and the comfiness is Yeah a solid tent that’s really comfy
and uh got a nice big area here to put some drinks or just rest and look out the window the window’s
nice and clean as well so we can get some good train window views for you guys and we’ve also got
a hook here as well which you can put your bags or anything yeah there we go so just like that so
yeah not too bad i have to say for $34 this is a pretty good experience with the first class lounge
as well i think we’re going to have a great trip one other thing as well is they have a light
switch which they can turn the lights on and off and here they have a nice window shade if
you want to get some rest also a power socket which is really good and what here oh yeah and
a power socket down here as well which you can charge all your devices too really good and
we’ve got these little screens here as well which tell our seat number and here it will tell
us the speed of the train currently it’s 0 km an hour because we’re not moving so guys one cool
thing here I noticed is just under this armrest they also have a table which is super handy so
if you want to eat some food or do some work you can definitely do that which is great hey guys
so we actually left 2 minutes early which is even more punctual than the Chinese trains
because we actually left early it’s crazy [Music] thank you wow okay so we’ve got our snack box
here or our snack bag I should say living smarter moving faster living smarter push push okay let’s
see what we got water what’s this bread breads yeah nuts nuts mixed nuts and a chocolate bing
chocolate and a wipe wipe yep nice okay so our current speed is 75 km an hour so yes this train
does get up to 350 km but I’m only told just for a few seconds uh most of the speed is around 300
and then when you’re passing through stops it sort of slows down as well um so yeah pretty exciting
but uh still a train that goes 350 km an hour is always outstanding and amazing you might also be
wondering Jack how are you getting data what’s the best way to get a SIM card well that’s where
Nomad ESIM comes in so if you’ve been watching my videos for a while you’ll know that Nomad
has been a part of my travels for years now i use them in every country that I go you might be
thinking Jack what is an eim well let me break it down essentially an eSIM is a app on your phone
that creates a digital SIM card so all you have to do is install the Nomad app on your phone
click what country you want and buy a package i went onto the Nomad app and chose the package
that I wanted and bam as soon as I touched down I had data just like that so no more lining up in
long cues at the airport waiting for your physical SIM card personally I find that having an ESIM
is a great thing to have being able to have data when you’re seeing the immigration officer and
having to show your hotel booking or even when you’re just traveling around and needing Google
Maps posting Instagram photos and I can even hotspot my phone to upload YouTube videos as well
if you use my code Jack92CB you will get a bit of a discount on your first purchase of an eim so if
you’re interested in getting an eim on your next trip then click my link below in the description
box and get started by downloading the Nomad app today so if anyone’s wondering why they have
these walls along the train the reason being is it stops the noise pollution going into the
city so any houses that live like just here it’s uh quite good for them because you don’t see the
train and then also it’s not as noisy uh so yeah it’s quite good on this side though they don’t
have it uh probably because there’s not as many houses but here you can see all the apartments
here so it’s quite good and important to [Music] have just here for half an hour okay
guys so we just went over 300 km now 307 km let’s see the next update 313 i think
we’re approaching 350 let’s [Music] see guys so we’ve just went 344 km per hour which is
basically 350 i’m not going to look up there the whole entire trip oh there we go 347 so
yeah basically 350 km an hour um so wow that is fast train travel right there indonesia
is definitely living in the future 3:47 so [Music] good okay guys so not long now
until we reach Bang and once we do I’m so excited to explore because the city is sort of
famous for its hot springs its tea plantations uh its local colonial vibes where the Dutch
were here okay guys and just like that we have arrived in half an hour station i hope to see you
again in another journey thank you thank you okay half an hour so quick just like that so so so
quick so quick right okay let’s go here we are we’re now in another city in Indonesia okay
guys and for those of you who are wondering what the other two classes look like business
class and general class uh here’s what business class looks like and also here is what general
class looks like uh so as you can see it’s quite uh quite good business class is quite more
spacious and general class you know it’s uh it’s still pretty good for what it is i mean
the train journey is only half an hour so we could definitely go in general and we probably
would have but we wanted to show you guys our first class and uh what it’s like in Indonesia
so that’s why we did that today but normally we probably would have picked general class okay
so now we’re going to get on our free connection on another train into the city uh because the
highspeed train doesn’t go direct into the city so we’ll get on a quick train now and then arrive in
Bangalore so right here we just got to scan our QR code so the funny part about this train we’re
going to get on now is it takes about half an hour to get into the city center cuz it’s
a slower train so it’s quite ironic isn’t it one city to another but not quite because
yeah it takes another half an hour to get into the actual city it would have been good if they
could have built the line all the way into the city but I’d guess that cost a lot and would
create a lot more problems logistic wise so uh yeah here’s still good so the good part
is though for this next train we actually have our own section which we didn’t know
so for the next half now we’ve got another first and business class section okay
so here you go you can see that it’s uh blocked out with this red tape almost
like feeling like we’re on a red carpet okay so everyone’s just getting on the train and then sorry everyone’s just getting off
the train and then we’re going to get on station put our bags down now time to find a seat all right half an hour more then we’ll be
exploring Bangalore so I have to say this train is pretty spacious it has lug luggage racks above and
also at the end of the train as well you can store your luggage uh windows are nice and big which
is good so yeah not too bad other than it not going 350 km an hour it’s pretty comfy i love this
popping color it’s pretty nice okay and here we go [Music] so I have no idea what’s happening but
that noise is super irritating it’s like the train struggling to go it’s like a generator
the sound of the generator yeah right so this here guys was the highspeed line we were just
on you can see it goes into the mountain there so cool so what do you think so far about our
trip on the two trains my favorite was bullet train that’s so cool and I wanted to spend more
time there but it was so quick that I discovered it yeah this is fun too but I’d rather choose
bullet train and what do you what do you think of the scenery so far like the houses the nature
yeah the nature is beautiful and what I like most is like in the other tree the scenery is different
there we could see nature and beautiful trees and everything and here we see houses and more of
like personal life of people living here yeah that’s right so good so good all right guys
we’re coming to a stop now i must say this train ride was like really loud yeah you can hear
the diesel engine yeah it’s a uh diesel engine so it’s pretty loud guys but that’s okay okay so
I don’t know if you guys can see that but it’s uh it’s raining right now but the good part about
being in business and first class is we’re at the front of the train so we’re right near the exit
and we got to walk up this people mover hill or we could probably just stand still to be honest
are you ready to go to our hotel yeah it’s been a big day well a big 1 hour i know i’m tired
yeah same most people think that travels you know it is fun but it also is very tiring
yeah especially when you’re always on the [Music] move okay so we are now in the taxi
going to our hotel and uh I’ll show you guys the hotel when we get there it’s booked a pretty
nice place and uh I believe it was only around $30 or $40 so pretty cheap for what we’re going to
get so I’ll show you guys when we get there um but yeah first impressions of Bangdong quite nice uh
it’s raining at the moment which is a bit annoying but the streets look pretty lively and yeah
should be good so we’ll probably go and go out and explore a bit later okay so we’ve now arrived
at Wow it’s pink it’s pink right where are we moxy our new hotel in our new hotel with our lovely
hotel entrance with beautiful vines let’s go in and check it out i am so excited i’m so excited
too so different than we normally stay yeah by the way guys we definitely did pay for this hotel
okay it’s not a sponsored hotel okay you go in first let’s go wow I love the pink super nice it’s
like a boutique hotel guys have a pool table over there and even a telephone booth wow look at that
oh my gosh this is sick so cool hi wow i love that artwork too all right let’s get checked in okay
cheers to the welcome drink wow popcorn as well oh my gosh thank you so much that’s really kind thank
you m wow and you said free tea and coffee right yes wow jeez that’s amazing only black coffee
only black coffee salted espresso or American okay okay okay so we just arrived sophie’s already
taking selfies i love it it’s a nice hotel right so it’s a nice boutique hotel beautiful toilet
lovely doors I have to say and uh this room is absolutely amazing nice big bed and pretty good
view as well uh so yeah not bad at all right this is by far one of my favorite yeah definitely all
righty guys so yeah I guess that ends our video uh thank you so much for watching us whooshing
through the country of Indonesia and uh yeah what was your favorite part about today bullet train
uh this hotel anything pink she likes and me apparently pink yeah so uh thank you guys so much
for watching uh please like please subscribe for more uh videos here from Indonesia and all around
the world and as always guys keep it real cheers
